  • I wish they would use the old glass top gas pumps so I could see 5 gal and not rely on the digital readout.

  • The thing that puzzles me here is when the gas truck comes to fill up the tanks at the station I only see one hose going into one hole, so how does it get to be premium do they ad a quart of high octane to 2000 gallons of gas or is there another method to this madness?

  • i used to use regular on my taurus now the fuel system now needs to be cleaned because it left harmful deposits behind....

  • The higher the octane the slower it burns and the higher the flash point. The higher the compression of an engine the more rapidly fuel combust. that is why a higher performing engine such as an engine with a shorter stroke and higher compression like you would find in a BMW roadster require higher octane to slow the combustion to maintain maximum efficiency. if you put 87 octane in an engine made for 93 you can actually damage the engine over time from to violent of a burn in the cylinders

  • my 98 corolla lovessss regular gas and its fast u all need a cold air intake 2 make ur car go fast stock keeps it from sucking a lot of air and Premium is bs wast of money it is regular gas dey want ur money

  • This is bull shit, I own a 2011 tacoma and when I use 91 over 87, my gas milage is 1-2 miles to the gallon better, and my truck tows trailers way better. The media and the government is full of bullshit. Premium is totaly worth the extra 15 cents a gallon.

  • I use 91 in my 98 200SX SE-R. It's only $.20 more than regular and my car runs good too. I'm in California and 91 is the most we can get here.

  • Lies... Using regular 87 gas on the Tahoe I was getting 12 mpg... Then tried 89 octane and I was getting 16 mpg!

  • @yumyumluckycharms Duh! the higher the octane the slower the burn. you will loose power though if your engine is tuned to run on 87 octane and you run 93. higher compression engines such as short stroke High output engine like you find in BMW's for example need the higher octane and the slower burn because the higher compression makes the fuel combust more rapidly. you put 87 in a car that is tuned for 93 you can actually damage the engine over time from fuel detonation.

  • that's why british have higher octane due to a lot of turbo cars offered there, where in america factories mostly offer natural aspirated engines which only benifit from 91octane or less.lucky british wankers.lol

  • 91 octanes best for regular cars, but go any higher than that and will rob power, you need a turbo charged car to get beifits from very high octanes 92 and up due to very high cyclinder compression to burn it properly.the high the octanes the more a turbo engine benifits, but non turbo normal engines can't burn it fast enough and robs power, i'm talking 92 and up octane.

  • doesn't matter how much i saved(maybe a couple of dollars ) regular burned off faster than preimum, use premium people it DOES make a difference, your car will be problem free longer

  • i have an 1986 toyota mr2, always put preimum in it, it still runs fantastic, never had engine rebuild, once i decided to use regular, the car started idling ruff, started shaking, struggled to get up in revs, exhaust stunk bad, burned fuel twice as fast(very poor milage), and i noticed alot of water coming from tailpipe.used up regular put preimum back in, and engine ran perfect again, never ever will i use regular again

  • this is a bunch of bull, regular gas has way higher amounts of water than preimum, which in turn ruins your engine faster, its like drinking watered down alcohol.plus regular is the lowest quality fuel, it goes through the least amount of refining, which could leave harmful deposits in gas not filtered out, which clog fuel filters and lines.basically, like always you get what you pay for.

  • @Sneakers00 depends on where oil comes from. The gulf is down south and i know for a fact that there is a HUGE refinery in Texas and they pay much discounted price for gas in texas as they do almost everywhere else. Like only 2 $ a gallon

  • its $4.30 for Regular in Cali..

    God DAMNN Lol

  • What pisses me off is even if you spend more money for RON 93 octane gasoline there's still as much as 10% ethanol in it :(

  • i came here cause of the pic

  • @gevoakasuperman same here man..have a 98 i30t..HAD to use 87 once and a full tank of it..car ran like shit..use 89 and it responds better...wonder wut 91 will do to her??

  • Well.. I used to drive Ford Expedition and when I used 87, the car ran like shit..

When I used 91, it just went away and the recommended fuel for my car was regular.

  • this is retarded like its some sort of conspiracy, how about friggin explaining what octane is and how it can vary with burning at different temperature, also how 93 octane degrades rapidly

  • Higher octanes just prevent knocking, that's the reason for it. It must be used only in highly compressed engines. Apart from that it is useless powerwise.

If you have doubts use jet fuel (at your own risk), as you can't get any more octanes than that.

That said, there is the diferent addictives these fuels use. They do help keep the engine cleaner (injectors, valves, etc).

  • thats bullshit premium is alot different from regular

  • That guy is totally wrong, Premium gas does make your car run better, in performance, smoothness and slight improvement in mpg.

  • @zech007 I agree it also leaves less deposit in your engine cleans old carbon off your valves and in most cases contain less or no ethanol , ethanol is bad for you engine

  • regular is 95 ron in the uk, premium is 97 - 99. I think my car would run noticably worse on 87 fuel. cars with variable valve timing get the most out of uk premium unleaded, a little bit of extra power, bit better fuel economy.

  • premium is better old man

  • I Have a 1998 Nissan Sentra SE in which i've used an 87 rating until my trusted mechanic told me that it wouldn't hurt to go up to 89. After a week, i've noticed a much quieter engine when starting and a better "uumph" on the highway.

  • that guys fuckin retarted

  • you guys all fail..

  • My Toyota gets better mileage on premium. It doesn't need premium, but That's just a fact, but is not true with all cars.

  • LIES, what's next your going to tell me that stickers on my car don't make it faster either...LIES...The "POWERED BY JESUS" gives my car a soul!

  • this movie is so true so don't use premium it is a waste if the car wasn't engineered specifically to use it.

  • it all depends on your ECU And injection systems. BMW's and newer VAGs go mental for high octane! I have a 1.4 civic and i can totally tell the difference! It takes about two tanks to adjust its ECU for Vpower etc+The mileage works out the price with me I've tested it and i get the same amount of miles on the price. : D

  • u only need high octane gas on engines that have a 9:0:1 compression ratio or higher (like a 91 and up 240sx with the ka24de engine) and my 97 integra

  • Fuck your Integra!

  • o k, ur really gay, i bet u get ur ass beat by Honda's all day that's why ur a pissy bitch

  • Just face it your a homo and u like hondas... lol

  • no not really, i think ur homo and u get raped by Honda's all day long

  • let me guess... ur probably still in highschool and u think street racing is the coolest thing in the world!!!!... U probably even use Fast and Furious lines on a daily basis too...lol... fuckin loser!!!!

  • ok im still in High School and i do like Fast and Furious, but i assure i dont quote it on a daily basis and ive never street raced, all i do is drift but i save it for the track, and looks who's talking u started a argument over the internet and i guarntee i will whoop ass and whatever POS u drive all day

  • HAHAHAHAHA... U drift?....Get your license first u lil fag... and if your wondering what i drive... my pic says it all... fuckin Faggot!

  • yeah dumb ass i drift read the 1st comment douche i have a 93 240sx that has a DOHC KA with a 95 infiniti j30 VLSD slammed on silk road suspension that cost 1500$ and i'm 18 u stupid queer and i'll race u any day with integra and beat ur ass all day

  • i have not tried the premium gas for my moped but i have tried the plus and there was a

    deffrents on the pro side

  • i used premium on my moped last week and its definitely better acceleration and smoother running than regular

  • those days is over now

is $1.27/gal right now in my town and is say is going be under 99 cents, I DON"T BELEAVE THIS IS HAPPENED

  • i think premium gas helps older cars run "smoother" and not necessarily get better gas mileage. for modern cars, though, i don't think it makes much of a difference. WHO CARES! it shouldn't be an issue. in cars with 15-20 gallon tanks, the difference between premium and regular is about $3.50 when you fill up your tank. if this is determining which type of gas you use, then you should DEFINITELY be riding the BUS instead!!! lemme guess, you'd rather buy a happy meal with that money, right?...

  • @yuckysword I've been saying the same thing.. people say it adds up, but really it's a difference of $3.50 every week or two. Big deal..

  • Believe it or not, the orginal BMW M6 of the 80's used premium, but was such a fine tuned engine, really required a higher octane fuel, used for aircraft.

  • Doesn't premium come with some engine cleaning agents and whatever ?

  • Yeah my wrx you can def. tell the difference between regular plus an ultimate it whomps on ultimate

  • question answered: Only worth the premium price if your car needs it!

  • Still does not answer the question posed.
