this would be a very smart idea except we at my house have a total of 18 xserve's and 18 mac pros and 6 macbook pros we use 8 xserves and 8 mac pros to run our home theater and our home heat, light,tv,music, water we have touch screen displays in every room but this was much cheeper
we have an actual theater in our house and surround sound in every room our home theater is a 35 channel custom theater with a 150 inch projection screen it's top wattage would be between 10000-20000 watts
Try running expose with 3 or 4 applications (not just windows) open. It runs very choppy. At least on my mini, which has a Intel GMA 950 graphics card.
its a 1.83 core2duo I believe with 4 GB or ram and 7200 rpm 200 GB hard drive with a WD 500 GB external with all of my movies, I use the mini for a home theater pc and it works great.
nothing great but does what I want it to with no choppyness
haha a windows pc would get a bluescreen after 4 running apps ;D

better than a $2000 PC!

@aegnt09 Can't agree a $2000 PC would probably get 10k score WITH all the apps opened...

did you have to buy the snow leopard server version or is it the regular?
frankixbox 2 years ago
This is the regular version not the server, its connected directly to my projection through an Atlona Home Theater Media Center with HDMI output
