  • Thanks for the great response to my comments - I am stuck home on medical disability so I have plenty of time to check things out. Merry Christmas, and once again, thanks for the great video!!!!

  • Being 47 years old, I remember when she sank. God bless all the families that lost people. Does anyone know what really caused her to sink? I saw a show on History or Discovery Channel and they said that she may have ridden a high wave, then the bow plunnged down and then the srcews drove her into the bottom and she broke in half. If I remember correctly she sank in about 500 feet of water, and was 729 feet long. Sounds possible to me. Again, great video!!!

  • @fwosmek See the Wikipedia article, SS Edmund Fitzgerald. It includes the theories of the cause of her sinking. A prevailing theory is that she was structurally unsound and that huge seas contributed to her breaking apart on the surface. The same thing caused the Daniel J. Morrell and the Carl Bradley to sink.

  • @fwosmek She was sinking. Find the interview of Capt. Burnie couper of the arthur anderson. It explain's a lot.

  • Heart breaking to see her at the bottom of the lake like that. God bless the the familys whos loved ones suffered this awful accident and rest in peace captain and crew Being an Ohio born and raised man I remember when this happened but until today THE WRECH OF THE EDMUND FITZGERALD was really just a sad song. Forgive me. Mike Carrino of Fort Payne Al.
