  • I think this song is more listened in Pakistan than India

This shows how much we are mixed ............................

  • My poor knowledge and insufficient intellect restricts me from describing my inner feelings. When ever I listen to this scintillating and an immortal voice, eternal composition and unforgettable poetry gives me profound tranquillity. I feel as though I am being disconnected with this cruel world. Where we see and experience immorality, injustice, greed for material comfort and selfishness to exaggerated levels. When I see this happening my heart goes amok. Where are we heading to?(24rth Jan 2011)

  • @mrshahcph I am 100% agree with you,a sensitive hearts needs to feel the such fine poetry, immortal voice.be happy.

  • @mrshahcph I agree Mr. Shah. Songs like this have this great influence and now proved scienticially their effectiveness.

  • RIP Tupac

  • Mr. Kumar is awesome !!!

  • mohd.rafi at his best.

You are ruining the beauty of this song seriously! STFU please and just enjoy this masterpiece sang so beautifully by one of the greatest maestro of all time ! *peace*

  • As someone who speaks Persian, Pashto, Arabic, Hindi, Urdo, and some Italian, I don't see what the big deal is about speaking a language. It is just a tool of communication. Aren't we all masquerading as English speakers anyway? I rarely listen to any Hindi or Urdo conversation that is not sprinkled with English, if they can help it. This whole conversation reeks of either hypocrisy, stupidity, or insidious mean spritedness.

  • very good

  • RAFI AT HIS BEST

  • Dear fijianz being a muslim doesnt give u the right not to be an idiot. U r an idiot bcoz u dont know shit about Urdu yet u talk like u have full command over this topic. Look at Sanskrit u wont understand a word of it but on the other hand look at ur so called Hindi.Hindi is 95% urdu but urdu is not even 1% Sanskrit. Its 60% Arabic,30% Persian and 10% Turkish. No 1 can say that urdu is derived from Hindi. Urdu is worlds 5th biggest language and Sanskrit is 29th. Guess U got it. Ciao

  • @feelbafan

urdu and standard modern hindi are actually both derived form the north indian dialect called khariboli. Khariboli belonged to the western branch of old hindi, which is naturally derived from Sanskrit. Im not saying that urdu is the same as sanskrit, but some of the words are definitely derived from it. Without sanskrit (and perisan, arabic, turkish) there would be no urdu. And btw, what does urdu being the 5th biggest language have to do with anything?

  • @bjborg1 well urdu is a mixture of many languages, like sansakrat, turkish, pashto, persian, arabic, punjabi, saraiki and english. it has the ability to absorb words of other languages easily.

  • Just love this song :D Rafi ji was the greatest Singer of all time. He has touched soo many hearts.

  • THANKS YOU VERY MUCH FOR UPLOADING THIS GREAT SONG.

  • Kya kamaal he Rafi sahab

  • rafi saheb the great

  • sure!!! peace for all.... if we r having chat about some issues, then there should be correct information...Urdu is combination of Arabic and Persian. writing script follows Arabic ( right to left) and hindi is (left to right) BIG difference... and reading follows Persian + Arabic accent.....BTW Persian used to be the official language of INDIA during Mughal era..from 1305 to 1857. all Mughal emperors were persian speakers not Hindi... cheers mate...

  • @melbournepure

so if u speak urdu infront of persians and arabs will they understand, idiot they will slap u and kick ur ass. It is bcoz urdu is derived from hindi with persian and arab words.

  • @chanu07888... hahahah..not being offensive..but definetly they will slap,,,coz their languages r not derived from Urdu, but Urdu is deriven from their languages but not from Hindi....just compare Urdu,Hindi and Arabic scripts together and u'll see the difference and similarties...

  • Not heard this song since I was kid, Really happy to have heard it today..... how sad and brilliantly sung by Mohammed Rafi... he brings this song to life....

  • what a brilliant song, sang beautifully.....

  • lol

  • Comment removed

  • @melbournepure While you are right about the script(its Nastaliq- a perso-arabic script), you are way off the mark on the language. Urdu is classified very much as an Indo Aryan(as opposed to Persian- Indo-Iranian) language, the same family as Hindi, Sindhi, Gujarati, Bengali as it is understood to be a Persianized register of Hindustani (similarly Hindi is the Sanskritized register), which means both share the same syntax and grammar but borrow more words from either Persian/Sanskrit resp.

  • @gorpy81 ..what about writing scripts my friend...? does Hindi and Urdu share the same writing scripts???

  • @melbournepure As I have said, the perso-arabic Nastaliq script is used for Urdu while Hindi uses the Devanagari script. In fact either script can be used for either. But the choice of script has been very politicized post partition and used to distinguish one language from another and develop distinct identities for Hindi/Urdu. This is also why Gurmukhi(Indian script) is used for Punjabi in India while just across the border Shahmukhi is used. Similarly for Sindhi (Devanagari vs perso-arabic).

  • @gorpy81 so as i said there are differences Between Urdu and Hindi..so here u r....

  • @gorpy81

gorpy gives the correct version as opposed to the Pakistani version by Melbourne. Urdu has nothing to do with Persian or Arabic SPEECH wise. It is not unlike Yiddish, or the Hebrewized version of German. All basic Urdu words are Sanskrit..raat, din, sona uthna baithna khana peena rhona dhona marna jeena bachna ao jao khao main aap tum..ek do teen char etc...Have nothing to do with Arabic..Urdu is same like Pakistan- a piece of India with a different name.

  • @melbournepure

Your information is incorrect. It is possible this is the Pakistani version of history. Urdu is an Indian language from the region which is Uttar Pradesh in India (UP). Its basic speech, syntax is Awadhi, which in its modern form is Hindi. In other words Urdu is the Persianized version of the same Awadhi/Hindi language. It's vocabulary borrows heavily from Persian & Arabic. Any script can be adopted for any language eg Roman like in Turkish. That doesnt change the language.

  • @melbournepure

India is too big ...at NO given time was all of India under any empire..hence if Persian was the court language of Mughal it had no bearing on the language of the people which ALWAYS was Sanskrit based in the N and E and Dravidian derivatives in the South. Persian was never any useful language of India ever, maybe some Islamic scholars. Urdu is pure Indian and is derived a recent urban version of Awadhi/Hindi etc.

  • @melbournepure

The Arabic script has been imposed on many languages that were spoken by Muslims eg Sindhi, Punjabi, Seraiki etc..likewise Hindi- Muslims wrote in Arabic script while the rest of India followed the Devanagri or its derivatives..btw Devanagri script is used all over S & SE Asia Javanese thru Burmese Thai all use Devanagri or derivative.

The Pakistani regime also tried to impose the Arabic script on Bengalis in E Pakistan which was resisted.

  • @Mythical2000 ...India is a big country and every country adopted Hindi language and its scripts from India. so from America to Japan, Russia to Australia, thoughout the world we all speak Hindi..and if anyother language is spoken anywhere thats shit......

  • @melbournepure Although you meant to be sarcastic, it is ironical that you are actually kinda right- the vast majority of the populations ranging geographically from South Asia to Britain & beyond actually speak @ least one language from the "Indo- European" language family (incl Russian, Eng), derived from an ancient "Proto-Indo-European" language, Sanskrit & Avestan being some of the oldest from this family. Only Semitic languages(Arabic, Hebrew, etc) do not belong to the I-E language family.

  • @gorpy81 ...you r right bro, all the world has derived their languages from Hindi, they have nothing their own, even Adam and Eve used to speak Hindi...

  • @melbournepure I have never said every language in the world is derived from Sanskrit/Hindi. Would urge you to read up on the Indo-European language family and its constituent languages before being sarcastic. Try to go beyond your bigotry, chauvinism and prejudice that one can only presume is the result of the Pakistani education system that has systematically distorted (pre-1947) history, has preached hatred against India and denied shared/inherited cultural heritage stretching back millenia.

  • @melbournepure If u can tell me why urdu originated in INDIA and what was the need of this when moghuls ahd their own lang.

  • @melbournepure , it is big misconception among some people that Urdu is somehow whole lot different than Hindi...it is not. I have lived in Arab countries and I can guarantee you that Arabs will not understand even one sentence that you say other than sporadic words like 'Shukriya'. Any Pakistani can listen to Indian TV and understand Hindi News but same Pakistani will not understand even one sentence of a Arab or Persian News...

  • @bidritiger ...writing script , writing script , writing script, writing script...hell of difference between hindi and urdu...again writing script...an indian can't read urdu, but a pakistani can read arabic.....

  • @melbournepure @melbournepure @melbournepure So Urdu copied the script from Persians...what is so proud about copying ? You can write same language in many scripts...that does not change the language or its basis; fact remains that Urdu is 80% Hindi and rest derived from Persia, Arabia, Turukey etc.

For your info, Punjabi in Pakistan is written is what is called as 'Shahmukhi', the Urdu/Persian Script...the Punjabi written by Sikhs is in GuruMukhi (similar to Hindi); th're exactly same...

  • @bidritiger ...there is nothing to proud about,,,but fact is that Urdu writing scripts (not speech) is derived (not copied) from Arabic..and yes in speech, it has sanscrit base..

  • @melbournepure So Urdu copied the script from Persians...what is so proud about copying ? You can write same language in many scripts...that does not change the language or its basis; fact remains that Urdu is 80% Hindi and rest derived from Persia, Arabia, Turukey etc.

For your info, Punjabi spoken in today's Pakistan is written is what is called as 'Shahmukhi' or the Persian Script...the Punjabi written by Sikhs is in GuruMukhi ...they sound exactly same...

  • i love this song

  • AWWWWWWWW......

  • People should know that Urdu is from Persian and Arabic. That's the fact.

  • @MHS024

I think u r idiot, urdu is derived from hindi with persian and arab words. When persian and arabs came to india they can't speak all the words of hindi, so they mix their own words. Idiot if u speak urdu infront of persian or arab , they will slap u and kick in ur ass bcoz they cannot understand u but a hindi speaking guy can easily understand u.

Yes off course you have bigger army then us in number but in practical you are like rabbits

    DEFINATELY!!

  • thanks for the up load beautiful acting by both stars

  • An all the idiots have forgotten that hindi Sanskrit gave birth to most languages including english and hindi and then in turn urdu......and im a muslim....fact is fact..... Dont people understand that we are fighting over nothing....Hindu,pakistani,bangali whatever...we all have indian roots..peace and live life to the full..

  • @fijianz1 I just hope more muslims and hindus think like this and indian sub continent will be free from corrupt politicians, i respect your views sir, i am a hindu from New Delhi, now in USA

  • @fijianz1 i wish every one thought like this =)....i agrea with you totally and i think how stupid could it be i mean all of these people have started to bring in religion and language just beacuse of a songe...i just wish every one could think in this way ..great to see that someone other then me thinks like this too =)

  • @fijianz1 well said bro.......i'm a hindu....i hav several muslim frndz....i like ur truthfulness

  • @fijianz1 , Thanks. My mother tongue in neither Hindi, nor Urdu. In songs I love the Hindi+Urdu combination. Geographic differences are due to politics, and music itself is a religion.

Religion is basically a code of conduct to unify people and languages are means of communication. The evolve with time, sometimes expand in branches. No language is property of anyone.

  • @fijianz1 i am a pakistani and i don't have indian roots...pakistan is mixture of a lot of other nationalities not just indian

  • great rafi

  • Unbelieveable Mixture of Poetry and Acting.... Great Song.....

  • URDU is only language.

  • urdu works great for this kind of poetry and than rafi pronouncing the words, couldnt be any better.. unlike a few Indians Singers who have issues with " khe" and " qaaf".

  • Everything about this video is awsome. Mumtaz, Sanjeev Kumar and such a wonderful song acted so well. Rafi, we miss you.

  • Arabic is better

  • it sure is!

  • @poissondelamer My language is also sweet and expressive in the whole world and entire universe but it is not Urdu...I love my language...

  • @poissondelamer by the way this is HIndi...LOL..

  • @adihuddin

absolutely stupid language Urdu with no prose at all just some girly poetry..Urdu is simply a Persianized version of Awadhi languages, which all come from Sanskrit..Urdu is a total failure and is not even used in higher education. The most complete modern language in the subcontinent is the beautiful and rich Bangla..Urdu was kicked out of E Pakistan because it uses so much Persian & Arabic who no one understands...Hindis is far most sweeter and simpler.

  • @Rahee1999

u stupid fool, all these songs were sung in urdu , there wasnt even one word of hindi, so stop being an immature idiot and just enjoy the awesome voice and song IN URDU SUNG BY A MUSLIM!!!!

  • @TheDiamondRafi

There goes the Paki again with his madrassa knowledge..Urdu is not even a defined language you idiot..it is simply the Indian dialects of Uttar Pradesh sprinkled with a few Persian & Arabic words..the base is all Hindi or Sanskrit..no Hindi words?? count asshole: Khilona, jan kar, mera, tod, jatey, mujhe, is mein kis ke, chhor jate ho..Paki fanatics are not supposed to sing..this is an Indian song composed by Hindus..screw Urdu the bastard language that failed.
