I don't have anything against swype it actually looks but I really have no problem at all with the iPhone keyboard, it is fairly responsive and the autocorrect is very accurate.

Swype is cool, but the QWERTY layout is not the most optimal possible for it.

@maisteri There may be more efficient layouts, but having to take time to retrain your brain to a unique layout would certainly not be "optimal". That said, it does support other languages, so they will most likely let you change the style.

I have this on my motorola droid and its pretty awsome. Surprisingly accurate, I was very skeptical but decided to try it out and now I wouldnt go back to the old method of texting

A proposed touch-screen keyboard design for smart-phones & other mobile devices. Instead of selecting each letter individually, you drag over the letters in a continuous stream which is considerably faster.

Just for clarification, this is not intended to replace the standard computer keyboard.

Other applications are for disabled persons who use eye-tracking to 'type'.

there has been an app on the itunes app store since almost day 1 that had this or similar.

There are about a half dozen similar interface software that I am aware of. Almost all of them have been horrendous. Swype is the only one that appears to be powerful enough, and importantly as he pointed out in his speach, accurate enough to override the familiarity of tap effect keyboards. We'll see if can deliver what it's promising. Just my perception. I hope Swype is all it's cracked up to be, but I'm not holding my breath.
