i had the same problem and you just need to pop and catch it and just be brave and stick that foot on. I know its hard at first but just try as hard as you can and it'll work out for you.

After you get them while jumping forward you will start doing them without going forward. So as you progress it changes.

on my first day doing it, i got so damn lucky and landed one. didnt land it again until i actually tried to learn it (after i learned to ollie) a month later. This guy is a great teacher, listen to this vid
