We are also a Democracy. Republican form of Representative government classifies as Democracy. The constitution restrains the majority from infringing upon the rights of the minority, and that is all.

You're confusing direct democracy with the general terminology of democracy. What you and I both are describing falls under the umbrella of democracy. Remember, the majority vote chooses the representatives.

dont fall for that mis conception. there is no federal law which requires the electors to vote according to the popular vote of their state and, on multiple occasions electors break faith with voters to vote against the popular vote of their state. electors are not ELECTED. presidents often are elected regardless of the popular vote. ERGO my friend, we live in a "representative republic" sometimes called a "democracy" to soothe the mindless who think their vote matters.

I do like many of Ron Paul's views (from what I have seen). Unfortunatly he gets little press, so little is known about his views. I don't feel he has the public presense to be president. If I liked absolutely everything he's about, I'd be the first person ever to feel that way about a candidate. But, my thoughts are that he's different in mind about things that could and should change rather than things like Civil Rights and separation.

Maybe research him. His opponents try to paint him as a racist, but he really just wants people to take responsibility for themselves and have the same basic starting point as everyone else. He's anti-favoritism if anything.
