Considering that Mustaine had lots of battles with memories, drugs and himself, he is really successful for being what he is today. He has a band identical to Metallica and he writes good heavy songs. He plays the guitar very well and he has a quality signature on his music.

Then htye made a video for "one". Then came the black album a major shift in their sound and a disappointment if you're old enough to been a fan before. Lastly "Load" was a complete SELL OUT where they tried to become PIMPS. I can only imagine it was because of the popularity of (C)rap! And theyve never been the same.
I am a fan of both bands, but man.. I must say that Metallica has gone down the shitter since Load album.. Megadeth had stayed true, strong and is better than ever.

And although the popularity goes in favor to Metallica, Megadeth is musically way better, edgy, complex, diverse and consistent. I really hope he let go of Metallica, as he states now. I'm pretty sure people like alkira001 are having hard times with their lives and can't sort the things out. Considering that Mustaine had lots of battles with memories, drugs and himself, he is really successful for being what he is today. He has a band identical to Metallica and he writes good heavy songs. He plays the guitar very well and he has a quality signature on his music.
People who are unaware of what's going in music industry shouldn't argue about the things much.

I mean even 85% of the new bands today, are not capable of writing a song like Hangar 18 or Countdown to Extinction... The same riffs, drum beats, vocal lines we hear in every band today. At least together with Megadeth those old bands have created the originals. Even being a musician and being in search of writing some original stuff, I have difficulties. So respect the ancestors.

Metallica are a great band, so are Megadeth. Metallica with Mustaine would've been a million times better.

@01020498 I'm so glad you asked. Back in the 80's they were thrash metal gods. Even bragged that they'd never make a music video. Weren't going to compromise or sell out for greed. Then htye made a video for "one". Then came the black album a major shift in their sound and a disappointment if you're old enough to been a fan before. Lastly "Load" was a complete SELL OUT where they tried to become PIMPS. I can only imagine it was because of the popularity of (C)rap! And theyve never been the same.

@tetra19 actually, Metallica kinds recovered with Death Magnetic. Load was shite, ReLoad was shite with a couple of ok tracks, St.Anger should never have been released. It had potential, but the production killed it. DeathMagnetic is the best Metallica have been since Black album, maybe even Justice. That being said, Metallica lost their mojo after Puppets if you ask me.
