  • i have a theory, perhaps general sturnn is one of the lost primarchs, that's why he is so much taller then those ultramarines......

  • IG's for life

  • why is that IG general taller than a Space Marine Chaplain?

  • That Chaplain in short!

  • this is why winter assault is still my favorite dawn of war story, so much went into it and it shows

  • Wow... Sturnn is fucking beast..

  • We die standing.

    Always on our feet.

    Never on our knees.

  • THQ knows how to make an awesome game, and knows how to make a powerful experience, not soon forgotten.

  • @Rhysman30 Not THQ, Relic is the one who make the game.

  • anybody else notice that a space marine who should be 2meters (8FT) tall which would mean they tower above man... is shorter than a lowly guardsman? wtf!

  • This ending is canon. A piece of Wargear in Retribution proves so. Problem, Eldarfags?

  • @NoiseMarines Farseer Taldeer survived and was in Dark Crusade, where in the IG choice she's killed at the gate. Stands to reason that the Eldar ending was cannon.

  • @watchingfrom92 Actually, Relic released an announcement that the actual ending to Winter Assault was a combination of both Imperial Guard and Eldar endings. The Imperium claims the Titan, and the Eldar arrive to aid the Imperial Guard in the final battle. Gorgutz runs for the hills. Everybody wins.... Well, except Crull. But fuck Crull, seriously.

  • much better manly voice acting of epicness than dow2.....

  • That is one midget chaplain

  • we DIE Standing

.....no you dont, you die on the ground

the NECRONS die standing, and bending over, and broken in half

  • @midgerm Can't tell if troll, or not understanding a metaphor.

  • @Termiborger i am simply stating that necrons tend to "die standing" i mean nothing else by it

  • @midgerm "and bending over, and broken in half" you sir have made my day :3

  • Is the general too tall or the chaplain too short?

  • Comment removed

  • Man tears were shed.

  • whats the song?

  • @IGfunGR Lasiurus, from the ending of batman begins :)

  • 0:45 - Guardsman giggling at the Baneblade. Where was that during the rest of the campaign? Only a tactical gen- CREEEEEEEEEEED!!!

  • @Dephoneon So, dat boyz where moving aftah getin stuff foh da gret WAAAGH! and then a giant metal bawkz com from nowhara, only a puny hummiecorpze next to it....itz mast haz taken a tactical gen-CREEEEEEEEEEEED!!!!

  • @l0v3m4ng4 where is CREEEEED! from?

  • @ahnilator123 Special Rule for the IG Character Lord Castellan Usarkar E. Creed, that allows him to give any unit the Scouts rules. This rule either A) get a head-start on their movement (moving before anybody else moves, even allowing two movements if you get to move first) or B) use the Outflank special rule....wich can make a baneblade outflank the enemy out of F nowhere...and it always ends with '' tactical gen- CREEEEEED!'' wich is pretty much calling out that character out of rage

  • @ahnilator123 From an older hero unit from 40k called Creed, he was able to infiltrate any units directly into the battlefield, including titans and heavy vehicle squadrons. This, of course, lead to stuff like baneblades popping out from behind trees or rocks.

  • @OriginalYTPooper "CREEEEEED!''

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU STILL PLAY Dawn of war winter assault

  • @TheWestReaper hell yes i am, but its little unstable on win7...

  • @swoopTK421 to fix that problem, you right click dawn of war winter assault and go to propitys sorry if i spelt that wrong and then go to combatibilty and then tick the box where it says 'run this program mode for' and make sure you have it on windows xp sevece pack 3 after that just click apply and ok and it should work good :)

  • I'd say IG won WA, regardless of what other people say, this is a great ending.

  • @PNDRazor Nop Orks did cos in future games like DC you can see IG generals head, chaos lords head and Eldars farseers head on the pike at the base when you attack it. Since in WA Warboss collected skulls it all makes sence there wouldnt be IG/Chaos/Eldar heads on a pike randomly since WA story clearly states orcs collected skulls of dead leaders. and DC is shortly after WA ..

  • @XmjfanforeverX So based on that because they use the same pike model on both WA and DC you think they won WA? Don't think so, canon says Eldar won Winter Assault, how the fuck she would be in DC then? And what I said about IG, that's just my opinion that they won. As for the pike, it's possible that Orks won Soulstorm

  • @PNDRazor Might be THQ fuckup then since it was Utwes farseers head on the pike after all

  • @PNDRazor Relic said it was a Combo ending, IG got the titan, sturnn was incapacitated, and taldeer and the other eldar accomplished their mission, and left via webway. oh and Ghorgutz got crulls head.

  • It truly is what they do best: Die. In the millions.

  • I think Dawn of War III should focus on the Imperial Guard rather than the Space Marines (Blood Ravens) for the campaign. Seriously, this kind of ending is awesome.

  • @JinRenegade Relic made Guardsmen (252nd Kauravan Conservitor Regiment, remnants of the 1st Kronus Regiment or 412th Cadians) or Gamers workshop made Guardsmen.

  • The Imperial Guard die standing, they fight, and they hold the line against the enemies of Humanity. And sometimes - they win.

  • A piece of wargear in DoW II: Retribution actually states that Sturn won in Winter Assault.

  • Very few voice actors give their character an actual presence in a game. Thankfully the guy voicing Sturn did that amazingly

  • this made me so proud to be a IG

    for the god empire

  • for the god emperor

  • "A guardsman's life is to die. My job has always been to show them where they can do so. I am not afraid to spend them, but I never waste men."

Lord General Castor and Sturn are the two most awesome characters in the whole Dawn of War series.

  • @BlackTemplar43 True dat

  • My first game was dark crusade here but i must really buy the original and winter assault it's so epic

  • Guardsman: "we do what we do best, we die standing"

  • I believe that the unit size on DoW represent directly the size of their balls.

This is why guardmen are massive in comparison to Space Marines.

  • Best Video Ever, only Sturrn could deliver this line.

  • What the hell is that looming over everyone at the end? It doesn't look like any Imperial ships i'm aware of.

Also, why is the chaplain so tiny? D:

  • @EmpperorIng It seems to be a troop carrier, with only a bit of it seen.

  • It's not that the chaplain is small, it's that Sturnn is -HUGE-.

  • Seriously, the chaplain looks... kinda cute, like a chibi figure?

  • @Plarosel There is a well known piece of fanart, depicting a chibi chaplain who cries over his brokeb Crozius. Maybe you saw it once and that's what's giving you this impression...

  • Wait a minute: Space Marines are 7 feet tall. WHY IS THE CHAPLAIN SO SHORT?!!!

  • @GAF1987 his whole body is outrageously tiny and he is wearing power armor which should ADD to the body not take away from it

  • Comment removed

  • @GAF1987 Maybe Sturnn is 7 feet tall too?

  • To each of us falls a task, and all the Emperor requires of us Guardsmen is that we hold the line and we die fighting.

It is what we do best.

    We die standing.

    *Mission Success*

The speech is powerful enough, but the General's voice doubles its effect. The music triples it.

In the end we have what merits manly tears.

  • @NewerSheoth Indeed. It is a video to be proud of, YouTuber. Barring "Justin Bieber Commits Suicide"... we could not have asked for better.

  • @NewerSheoth Same reaction.

  • @NewerSheoth *manly cry*

  • Sturnn: we Die Standing

Guardsman: umm sir this guy did lie down and took cover so he did die liying.

    Sturnn: Damn it..

  • All it would take to end the war with chaos and the Necrons and whatever else is out there is if the Eldar, Imperial Guard, and Space Marines would just ally. They both hate demons. They both hate Orcs. They both hate Necrons, Tyranids, and whatever. But the Eldar are too arrogant, and the IG and Space Marines are too damned stupid and bloodthirsty. Idiots. Together, they would absolutely kill. Apart, they're rats on a sinking ship. Idiots.

  • @exilekotor1 its orks, orcs are blizzard ones WC3 respectively dont forget Tau they always seek alliances

  • @K0ragg I stand corrected on the 'Orks'. And as far as the Tau goes, you're right. They do seek alliances, which is exactly why they aren't idiots. I could totally see them agreeing to an Alliance with the Eldar and the Imperium, I just couldn't see those two powers ever agreeing to it.

  • @exilekotor1 sadly ,stupid idiots, like this the eldar will disappear in their attempts of saving themselves after their own mistakes, the Imperium will slowly fade to the same fate destroying itself unless Tau,Eldar and The Imperium will unite to destroy one thing at least:The Chaos Gods,Exterminating orks is close to impossible, exterminating Tyranids would be incredibly hard more so than the chaos gods.I wish they would unite like orcs, night elves and the humans united vs the Undead in WC3

  • Sturn must be half ogryn. Because he is a head taller than a space marine.

  • The single greatest General-type in any game I've played.

  • Ultramarines before the Dark age of Ward.

Shed a tear for the lost awesome everyone.

  • @TheArrancar44 Worry not Brother. I get the feeling that Captain Titus was a massive kick in the balls for Ward what with his "The Codex is guidlines and there are benefits of thinking for yourself".

  • My god.. the music makes this SO DAMN EPIC!

  • I do not care what others say...This is how Winter Assault ended to me, and it will remain that way.

  • Manly tears, guys.

  • there should be a deomon mod for this game they already have a grey knight mod who down eith that?"

  • I really wish they make another DoW specially for Imperial Guard :\

  • Mother... Fucking... Epic...

  • *Single tear*

  • the VA really nailed that delivery. grim with a touch of heroism.

  • For the dick head!!!

  • IMPERIAL GUARD FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL OTHERS SHALL PERISH AT THEY FEET!!!!!

  • @armando429046 space marines for life

  • i think its funny that the human general is taller than a space marine who is suppose to be 8 foot tall.

  • @daralzand Are IG generals also genetically modified?

  • @oneforthelord No. IG Generals are smart but they weren't modified in any way in order to become one (they get mods for being imperial citizens or through family ties, but nothing just for being a general) and certainly not to the extent of a space marine. The latter have to make new organs almost entirely from scratch, and there's a good chance either the implants will be incompatible and kill you or the implantation process will.

  • @HalfTangible Er, when i said 'mods' for an imperial citizen i should've said 'medicine'... sorry

  • IG should have won Winter Assault

  • @PNDRazor IG won in winter assault they lost in dark crusade and won again in soulstorm

  • @Kikuta1Kotaro actually thats wrong. IG lost in WA, Semi-won in DC (After they lost to the Blood revans the BR help them with wounded and join forces I believe), and won in SS (Though I think it was a two win for IG and Eldar.)

  • @Kikuta1Kotaro Nope, Eldar won winter assault, not clear who won soulstorm, but space marines won dark crusade.

  • @PNDRazor

No. A piece of war gear from DoWII: Retribution confirms General Stern's survival.

  • @LordMunchkin Maybe he survived, but Eldar still won.

  • @PNDRazor The only reason why the Eldar won so many times in vanilla DoW was because it was leaked that 11 programmers were fanatical Eldar fanboys, while the other races had only 2 programmers (in total). Hence the Eldar were so overpowered and their content was so well made. This incidence is known as "Dawn of Eldar" amongst players.

  • @BlackTemplar43 Right, how many elite troop choices can the Space Marines field? Okay, now how many can the Eldar field? What, no hardcaps? Raaaage.

  • @crazy4sian Exactly.

  • @BlackTemplar43 True story

  • @LordMunchkin Survived off sheer will and his own badass, apparently.

  • General Sternn fell during the Loren 5 campaign may his soul join the god emperor.

  • @SkyInHeritor The Novels state otherwise HE IS UNKILLABLE!

  • he's general patton reincarnated

  • what the name of music?

  • @CCCPMorin Batman Begins - 26 - Lasiurus

  • sadly the dammit eldars are the ones that control the titan , but she has already pay for that

  • note : this ending was so epic and heroic that he merish a new text to himself

  • I hope Sturnn comes back.

  • They die standing up, but they don't die laying down?

    wow that is powerful.

  • The Emperor is not dead, he is in the field, leading the imperium. You have just watched him (yes, you do look old when you live for 10 millenia)

  • The Imperial Guard - brave boys. They do the fighting and dying.

While the Astartes are the elite fighters - the Imperial Guard are the ones who hold the line - and with competent commanders, they actually win.

  • That was beautiful.

  • How Come Dawn of war, Winter Assault and Dark Crusade has some Awesome Speech like this, while Soul Storm.. well some are but most are not :(

  • Guardsmen die standing.

Space Marines die crawling on the floor after having both their legs and arms shot of and still killing two dozen orks.

  • @137Reaper Not even then.. Then they continue to bite their opponents. They die when the Emperor gives them permission to die.

  • @137Reaper The thing is, guardsmen hold the line, just regular humans, old , weak, dying, young adults, against the horrors of the galaxy. That's what made Ollanius Pious so badass before they retconned him into a Custodes.

  • @TraySamurai WHAT???

  • @137Reaper Give the guardsmen some credit they will gladly stand in front of an army of orks even if they know they are going to die. without power armor.

  • @137Reaper Space marines carries bolters, their bodies geneticaly modified to become super humans and they get exstra organs, they basicly gets shaped in to super humans. And they get fucking power armor as well.

Guardsmen get a flack vest and a laser rifle.

  • @magnum499

... And the Guardsmen don't always get their ass kicked. Bad. Ass.

  • @137Reaper in a right place one imperial guardsman can inflict more damage than all space marines of imperium and chaous together...

  • Yes, die is what the Guard do best.

  • What music is this?

  • @SinDawg030 This song is from Batman Begins the song is called "lasiurus"

  • @n64central Thanks alot man!

  • Best IG general ever.

  • General : We Die standing

IG : *falls over and dies*

    General : D:< You're dead to me

  • Ok, for no other reason than that I must...

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me the name of the music used for this!

    I MUST HAVE IT!

  • This just proves that the Guard are in posession of balls that would make the Angry Marines themselves blush

  • His armor is so small, BUT HIS HELMET IS SO BIG!

  • @dopatine thats what she said :3 lol

  • sturnn took steroids?

  • I love starcraft but warhammer 40k is just so much more badass

  • First midget in space, and what a midget he is-an ultramarines Chaplain!

  • Aren't Space Marines supposed to be a couple feet if not more taller than a normal Human? lol.

  • I think the moment when the guardsmen and space marines are just standing there sharing each other's honoured company, two different forces united in kinship in their defense of humanity in that frozen wasteland, it's so beautiful...

  • Sturnn is the type of badass that eats bullets washed down with motor oil for breakfast.

  • The Chaplain looks like a dwarf. He should have been at least slightly taller than Sturnn.

  • I want to see Genral Sturnn in the next dawn of war game

  • Song is "Paul Haslinger - Eternity and a day". For me it's best DoW ending. IG forever.

  • wht did he mean when he said we die standing?

  • @romanlegonary it means his imperial guard regiment would rather be killed in combat than forced to retreat

  • Sturnn is the Jesus of the 41st millenium.

  • @foree nope, that role is already taken by the Emperor. I mean, it is clear as a day that they made the Emperor after Jesus Christ.

  • @mcz1945 The Emperor hated religion you know? He said himself he's not a god and he was the greatest human warlord to ever walk the universe. Sounds a lot like Jesus pfft...

  • @WolfGuard20 The Emperor sacrificed himself for the sake of humanity and rose as their god, read the bible dude

  • @mcz1945 The Emperor didn't sacrifice himself. He was mortally wounded in a battle against his son and now needs a thousand sacrifices a day to simply keep living. And I've read the bible, I prefer Lord of the Rings, its a much better fantasy story.

  • @WolfGuard20 "By Thy Golden Throne and Thy Death, By Thy desctruction and re-emergence as the god of Men," sounds like sacrifice and rising to godhood to me. And he doesn't need a thousand sacrifices a day, you are refering to the Astronomican which is powered by the essence of psykers, but the Emperor is maintained by the Golden Throne.

And yes, he sacrificed himself by fighting Horus and taking his sins upon himself. The fact that you are an atheist sucks bad for you, I pity you :/

  • @mcz1945 No he did not sacrifice himself dude... HES ALIVE LOL. He was just holding back during the battle against his son. He never rose to god hood... in fact he went down a few pegs from being a hyper-evolved human psyker... on life support on a throne and rotting.

  • @WolfGuard20 He did sacrifice himself because he died, but the Primarch of the Imperial Fists reocevred his body and put him back onto the Golden Throne, his body is physically dead, but his spirit still dwells within. Now, he still rules the Imperum through Tarrot, vission, dreams or even direct action. He became the God of men. Why do you think the book of prayers says that which I wrote down there. Why do you think Space Marines, IG and Inquisition yell for the glory of the God-Emperor ?

  • @mcz1945 He did not die... he was alive. He instructed Dorn to build the Golden Throne that would be his life support system. And yes the Imperium yells God Emperor because to Humans he is a godlike being, creator of space marines, conqueror, immortal, shield from Chaos. If you put own the bible and read the Horus Heresy books you would know the Imperial Creed began when regular Humans encountered Chaos and were scared shitless. Marines only regard him as their grandfather.

  • @mcz1945 The Emperor is more like the Japanese of Chinese Emperors. To their citizens they were God in the flesh and loved by all. And unlike Jebus they were also conquering warlords who millions would willingly die for. Jesus Christ is NOTHING like the Emperor, except that he is a God in Christian lore and the Emperor is considered a God by Imperial Humans (Not Space Marines).

  • @WolfGuard20 Believe what you want, but he IS based on Jesus Christ. Saved humanity by sacrificing himself and then became a god (insane psychic powers, holds chaos at bay etc etc.) that leads humanity. They are nearly identical.

  • @mcz1945 He is not Jesus Christ. The Emperor preaches AGAINST religion, the Horus Heresy books talk about how religion brings down mankind. Hes a hero and godlike, he's not Jesus simply because they have nothing in common other than hordes of Drones thinking their gods, but theres other religions for that too.

  • @WolfGuard20 He Preaches againts religion, and his private house is a Huge Cathedral filled with angels and images of saints. Across the Imperium there are churchs and other huge cathedrals, Space Marines build their ships and bases as cathedrals, they pray to him constantly, the flag bearers of the Adeptus Sororitas wear huge crosses, that sounds like religion to me. And besides, the faith in the Emperor is the ONLY thing that keeps the humanity from extinction.

  • @mcz1945 All that shit came after the Horus Heresy. In fact the Emperor was FURIOUS with his son Lorgar who kept on stopping to build cathedrals and create and Imperial Creed. He got the Ultramarines to destroy all the cathedrals and monasteries because, for the 10th time... he was trying to get rid of religion because it starts wars and tears humanity apart. Look, idk what your arguing anymore. All that I was saying is the Emperor isn't based off Jesus, which he isnt. Hes a more like a Roman.

  • @WolfGuard20 well in a strictly 40k version the emperor made many religions in the old times so to say,so he not have been based off but actually be.anyway,he isnt a roman emperor, the amount of worship is too big for that,he is just a standard mesyanic figure(actually the incarnation of the various spiritual teachers of humanity).''because it starts wars and tears humanity apart''yet it kept humanity together after the HH.anyway,he didnt relaise the fact that most humans need it....

  • @beastclaw33 I never read anywhere of the Emperor making religions or the like of what you said. However I know he's not a Roman Emperor. I'm saying that if you look at it he's basically like a Roman Emperor/Japanese Shogun with immense psychic power and is treated like God in medieval Europe (having an Inquisition etc). The Roman thing also comes off of the Imperium itself, having so many latin-like words ex: Terminatus, Segmentum. Not to mention the Marine legions are the old Roman Legions.

  • @WolfGuard20 good point.i dont know,i read it on the wiki and some forums

  • @WolfGuard20 ok here,40k wiki-the emperor of mankind at the emperor's purpose

  • @WolfGuard20 Oh, that latin is known as high-gothic

  • @WolfGuard20 and if that worchip is directed toward the emperor, feeding his presence in the warp,i dont think anyone's got a problem.p.s:the worlds conquered by lorgar were not as many ,but they were totally united with the imperium.and denying everything spiritual and humiliating the World Bearers didnt help...

  • @WolfGuard20 he preached agaisnt religion because if he would make people believe there is nothing beyond the material universe, this would create a psychich shield of unbelief, this would weaken the Chaos gods which feed on human emotions mostly.but he underestimated the fact that people need of spirituality.this made the world bearers primarch turning to chaos since he knew that religon is true.the emperor tried with religion, himself tried with religion, himself founding lot of religions,but...

  • @beastclaw33 Are you kidding? Religion doesn't make emotion... Humans were feeling anger and hate before any gods existed in our mindset. And yeah Beast, thats what I'm trying to say that he's not based off Jesus. The Emperor is like a Roman Emperor in the far future with massive psyker powers. Nothing like Jesus.

  • @WolfGuard20 yes, religion doesnt make emotions, but again some people dont get the love your neighbour part, instead becoming intolerant of those of different religions and such, which instead causes anger, hate, etc.which is good food for Khorne and the rest

  • @WolfGuard20 since a lot of human were still stupid and didnt get the whole:Love your neighbour instead many became intolerant.in any case, ironically it was faith that made the Imperium hold together after the Horus heresy.i dont think the Emperor is based on Jesus, more of a typical mesianic figure.hehe,i remember that demotivational with:The emperor of mankind, like Jesus...except the imperium and the orks and the sm.
