I showed this video to my GIS Labs (40+ students each quarter) at the beginning of the term then again at the end. It was funny how they didn't "get" it at the first viewing, but got most of it, especially the NOOOOO, at the end of the term. :-)
You really need to be into Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and use arcmap (a main GIS software) to get this.
This video is really quite clever and hilarious for those of us in the know, and probably totally confusing and fucked up for those who don't know anything about GIS.
I was almost peeing myself when the error screens came up. You really included just about everything! Those pesky red exclamation points! Believe it or not, my boss sent this to me.
That was great! We've needed a GIS theme song for a long time.
The closest that I could ever come to one was "Map maker, map maker, make me a map" to the tune of "Match maker" from the play "Fiddler on the Roof." Yours is much better.
What a shame we've been hijacked again by ESRI. From Windows Vista to ArcGIS 9.2 - weve come so far - ... the wrong way. Give me the days of command line when Arc/Info still worked half the time.
Very Clever. However, it is unfortunate that "GIS Day" has displaced the old "Geography Week" and has become a thinly veiled marketing tool for the folks in Redlands.
Only a true GIS geek will appreciate this. If you see any humor in this at all you are now officially a geek. Not that there's anything wrong with that. ;-)
This is flippin amazing. Nice work!

You essentially have to be a nerd to be in the GIS business, computer proficiency is a must.

Unbearable this is another step substituting the meaning of GIS with that of ESRIs crap software.
I was intrigued when I started with GIS using ArcView... 10 versions later and no bug less I abandoned the ESRI train with ArcGIS 9.1
RIP
Well... actually not!

You could always use GRASS if you feel ESRI is such crap. Are you one of those bearded, Birkenstock wearing, UNIX, command line ArcINFO peps?
