I've worked for a prosecutor and these cases are VERY difficult to prosecute. Unless you have either some physical evidence or witnesses, you have a hard road to ride. Most of the people I know are upset and I'm sitting back a bit until the trial starts. These cases have many different layers. We'll get the story during the trail

Therefore, while they realize what happened is horrible, they probably don't feel the same way about it as someone with children. However, I'm in the NJ/PA/NY area and the people here are outraged. All you have to do is read the comments section of the various local news articles and you'll see just how outraged people are.
