  • love this song, danced to it a lot when I was 16 but................ white men really cant wear this sort of costume can they? look at the drummer ffs! lmao :o)

  • The dancing is utterly shit, but there is not denying the genius of Temperton.

  • this is disco not this lmfao bullshit

  • GOTTA KEEP DANCING!!

  • dancing? - i thought they had farted and were trying to waft it away quickly

  • I think I was like 9 yrs old when this song came out. Ahh. Those 70's block parties!

  • Good thing we never saw this video back in the day. Or us kids would have never made this song Number 1 that Summer it came out.. All we knew is that we loved dancing on this song..

  • 11 people couldn't handle the visual effects.

  • Barney Fife on the keyboard FTW!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • That keyboard dude wrote the Michael Jackson song "Thriller".

Hey may look nerdy but damn does he got a good brain for great songs!

  • I like the track but sorry the dancing cracks me up

  • White boy on the organ was funky. He wrote many of the songs of this group.

  • johnny wilder is sweet as sugar cane. the hand on hip thing,.. wild shaking hip action at 1:23

  • OMG, always loved this song and performance with legend-in-the-making Rod Temperton on keyboards - those were the days. And what's with the 'is he/ isn't he gay?' fixation'. Christ!

  • yeah they look pretty gay but then again who cares they make great music beside the one's you thing are straight ......

  • @cootercat486 I wish I was old enough to go to clubs when this was out. Musta been a great time

  • I love the first 20 seconds so much! I want to sample it

  • who gives a f...... if they were gay or not ...can any one of you carry a note like that ?? doubt it !!!!

  • im feelin it so bad dude has a f.....awsome voice cant hear anyone carry the notes he does in "always and forever and as a group well.. lets just say there arent any groups like that anymore !!!

  • good, but..... hand movement can be stopped?

  • good, but..... hand movement can be stopped?

  • Love having a Boogie with big Rod on ;-)

  • No offense but johhny wilder come off gay as a bitch in this.

  • @veeseee128 he was very gay it was said to be disco's first open gay performer. They way the rest of them looked or acted I say they all were gay.

  • @BBBYpsi Johnny was married. I saw the heatwave unsung biography, not once did they mention he was gay. He was not. None of his bandmembers were gay either. If they wwere it wouldve mentioned it.

  • @BBBYpsi Johnny Wilders wife was on their and she said she was happy with him and never mentioned that he was gay.

  • @veeseee128 look it up he was openly gay as for his wife when did he marry? He was parylized from the waist down in 1979 from a auto accident when a van side swiped him.

  • this song a lot longer before my time XD but god i love it soo much this game called when i played eye toy (PS2) back in the days i fell in love with it XD

  • All skate...this is an All Skate....

  • Rod Temperton wrote most of Heatwave's songs.

  • This song is fudging awesome

  • the song - amaZING!

the video - equally amaZING but different reasons...haha

who's idea was the costumes? love em!

  • One of the best song ever !!

  • THE GOOD OL' 'POO WHO FARTED'? BOOGIE!!

GOT TA KEEP ON FARRRRRTIN, KEEP ON FARRRRTIN!!!

  • And rod temperton on the key boards thats one ugly mofo. he look like a lizard aor toad man or something.

  • I was in 6th grade when this song came out ... the good ole days!

  • I've always wondered if Rod Temperton actually played that synth solo, or if they used a studio guy for that bit. If that's actually Rod, then he not only has mad songwriting skills, he also has mad keyboard skills too!

  • The guy on the right with the turbon on his head moving his arms a little faster than his buddy on the right. I think he is sweet as sugar cane. just something about him.

  • @veeseee128 That's Johnnie Wilder you're talking about, who unfortunately passed a few years back. He was the group's leader, and reportedly he passed over on some of the songs Rod Temperton wrote. Rod then passed the songs onto other people, who then had big hits with them. One of them, according to Keith Wilder, was Rock With You, which was of course a big hit for Michael Jackson!

  • @veeseee128 He does exude that gay vibe don't he?

  • @newton3010 just the way he move and then he got that woman turbon on his head. LOL

  • @veeseee128 ikr... and at the break down at 1:27 it really comes out...

  • I was a little kid when this was out and I could be dead sleep at ten o'clock at night and one of my family members would put the song on and I would jump up and start dancing

  • Well, Music with a good old mellow even sound.

  • good song,goodbeat

  • good song

  • great song

  • Love this song.

Ahhh add a little Rod, Quincy and Michael and have musical magic :D

  • This is still the jam...

  • i was breakin' glass in the street in 1977 NOT lol

  • Somebody made a comment saying in the 70's you just made up your own routines..LOL

Thats the truth! Me and my girlfriends had dance routines off of everything!

  • Somebody made the comment that you just made up your own dances in the 70"s and I say yes we did! We had routines off of every damn thing under the sun!

  • Missed this totally in the punk years. Heard it first (or listened properly) on a free newspaper disc. Fantastic start, which you can't hear properly on this, then fabulous everything. Forget the outfits/black/white/etc, this is just a total genius song, brilliantly performed. Still prefer punk..............

  • Fuckin' sweet tune! I remember this when I was a kid.

  • interesting bass

  • THE LEADER WITH THE TURBIN WAS BAD AND WHAT HE WENT THRU WAS AMAZIN, THIS GROUP OPEN UP FOR MANY OF GROUPS BACK IN THE DAY AND STOLE THE SHOW LOL.

  • A GREAT BAND, CHECK OUT UNSUNG ABOUT THIS GROUP REALLY MAKES YOU UNDERSTAND HOW THIS CAME ABOUT.

  • Dese bitchz bangin

  • Isn't back guitar/bass used by michael jackson in "living off the wal" ?

  • @lothaire23 just found out - answer is yes

  • Great song - couldnt remember what these guys looked like....ummm kinda of an eclectic bunch of guys.....the drummer scares me! Is he wearing makeup and earrings??? Wow lol

  • Miss Webberley had us do a little aerobics routine to this in 8th grade gym class, If I could remember how it went, I would so be doing it!

  • This is one of the campest videos ever, very good song.

  • Talk about a wardrobe malfunction... Heatwave is too cool for these clown outfits.

  • I AM GOING TO BRING THIS DANCE BACK IN THE CLUB THIS WEEKEND LOL love the song

  • they got the cool old "Orange" amps

  • sheer brilliance

  • @GUSFUNK23 YA TU SABES!!

  • @GUSFUNK23 THIS JAM TAKES ME BACK OOOOOH FUCKEN BACK THE DAYS HAHA THIS IS SOME OG SHIT RIGHT HERE

  • That because the writer and band member for heatwave, wrote songs for Micheal Jackson too!

  • luv me sum 70'z

  • this is just horrible

  • I was thirteen when that came out. I had my Mom but that record and The Groove Line. I would listen to the songs over and over.

  • so trippppyyyy..i need something

  • OH I'M FUCKIN DANCIN! MUSIC MUSIC

  • Interestingly, Clarke Peters sang backup on this. (Otherwise known as Lester Freamon from The Wire)

  • I liked this tune because of the crescendo at the end of the track. It pisses me off that MY generation doesn't have R&B bands like this in The music Industry; Who knows? We might have pulled off something like this. Unfortunately, we will NEVER know.

  • Thank you for posting this honeylove!!!!!!!!!!!!

God Bless you! Amen. I LOVE THIS GROUP!!!!!!!! No moe soul like this anywhere.

  • This was a killer song back in the days, lmfao @ the stylez back then

  • @vodahoe actually still is a killer song, true talents made music then.

  • why dont we have any more bands like this????!!!!

  • Damn those outfits.....

  • @RickardoMute they were hugely popular. Maybe you missed it. They had fans worldwide. The american scene was cluttered with many funk bands at this time but they received plenty of air play here and abroad.

  • The white dude playing the keyboard is Rod Temperton he wrote this song.He also wrote Thriller,Off The Wall and Rock With You for Michael Jackson.

  • This was later shown on TOTP in 1977 with the live audience.

  • @mosgjig FUCK OFF.

  • @Zorlok059 FUCK OFF.

  • 3 creepy looking white dudes and 3 coked out looking black dudes playing amazingly awesome funky music... i have no idea how thees guys wernt bigger than they were... i know that came across sarcastic, butt seriouly i fucking love this Jam!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @RickardoMute the main song writer, rod temper ton, left the group after the first album, but penned more of their hits.

co-lead singer and co-producer singer johnnie wilder wound up in a car accident which left him paralyzed from the waist down.

bassist mantes got stabbed by his girlfriend who was pissed with him, and he was dead for a few minutes...after a coma he was paralyzed and blind. he eventually got his sight and movement back, but , yeah, couldn't perform.

    also, disco faded.

  • @neoconsnightmare3 Damn sounds like they had a bumch of hard luck

  • @neoconsnightmare3 when you have a band (particularly self contained like heatwave was) something happens to your writer/producer and THEN a couple of players, it's devastating.

i think a couple of other guys in the band were in seperate motorcycle accidents as well.

but, hey...they gave us great memories.

  • I say fire the choreographer

  • @ceddie618 you must be relatively young, back in the day this was jammin', the steps AND the music.

  • The two white guys got all the after show shrapnel!!!

  • @Virenkickedpresass: No, darling I don't believe I made an issue out of it. I get a little irritated when ppl ask that question out of left field. I still don't understand what that has to do with anything. I never have and never will. However, just as it is someone's right to ask the question if someone is gay or not it is also my right to express my opinion on their question. I am grown, over 50 and it is what it is. For the record, I am not gay!

  • Q: What do you get when you cross Jamie Foxx with Aunt Jemima?

A: Johnnie Wilder in the outfit for this video

  • @virenkickedpresass: wow! lol! I would like to kno the answer to that question 2. Tru it is a question, but to me it makes no difference either. Erbody is not like me, I loved Johnny Wilder! I hope y'all dont start nothin over a question. It's all good in the neighborhood! I'm jus sayin.

  • Ppl I mean really....let's just say for the sake of argument that the beloved Johnnie Wilder was gay (which he was not!).....so what? Of what consequence would it be and what would that possibly have to do with his talent???? People just kill me with that foolishness! If I like someone I wouldn't give a rat's tail if they were gay or not because talent is talent whether one is straight or gay. One has nothing to do with the other. May he RIP.... beloved Johnnie Wilder! Have some respect!

  • @stylngnprofilin I think you are the only one making an issue of it. Someone was merely asking a question.

  • Love the matching clothes! LOL!!

  • this is pimp music! When I hear songs like this from the 70's all I can imagine is porn stars, pimps, prostitutes in time square, and Cadillacs!

  • I'll always love this song. The few times I've told people I like this song, they've given me funny looks. I think they're idiots. By the way, today's music really sucks. There is no meat in the sandwich anymore.

  • @72rocknrolla actually the lead singer was a military man and was married. its the 70s alot of shit they did would be condisered gay now

  • This so much better than today's hip hop shit. Kanye West, Jay Z and the rest of those bastards should be forced to eat Rod Temperton's excrement.

  • That one fella looks a little bit happy! The one with the cap on his head...whatever...LOVE this! Great song!

  • I don't know where you found this clip, but thanks! It's a classic, Love it

  • This is such a great song! The thing is, you wouldn't know anything werid from the other performers because the singer just takes it all. Know what I mean?

  • music back then was about the thrill and the art! now... its about the paper sooo there is no substance

  • @mssue2011 Some of us still do it for the art.

  • love this song

  • im not bothered they look like a bondage party , these were back in the day when groove and fun where the reason music was made .not soppy love stories

  • Esto es musica

  • This could have been a baked beans jingle..especially with the dancin' n gasin'

GOT TO KEEP ON GASIN' " Cuz mom's baked beans are always the best in town " :P

  • I actually like the dance it's one of the many made up moves of the 70s where people did their own style of dance not what everyone else did. And the lead singer sure was cute Dang! his brother only looks a little like Jamie Foxx

  • ahahahahahahaha SOME ONES MIND WASNT FUNCTIONING DURING THE MAKING OF THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:25 - How fucking ugly is he? And the dancing is terrible :L But, the song is amazing!0:25 - How fucking ugly is he? And the dancing is terrible :L But, the song is amazing!

  • 0:25 - How fucking ugly is he? And the dancing is terrible :L But, the song is amazing!

  • What dance r they doing?

  • That's the white boy dance !!!

  • Damn , instead of admiring the jam everyone is talkin shit... I love this jam just makes me wanna boogie down u kno.. Its all about the 70's.. fucken haterzz

  • I'm going to dress like that for my job interview tomorrow.

  • someone please put cannibal corpse to this..

  • One of the most original, unique, underrated jams of all time!

  • The bassline is so close to the off the wall sung by mj composed by rod the motherfucker temperton

  • @Androidwebber Well he was in Heatwave so it makes sense cause he also composed their songs.

  • The intro to this song is so hypnotic, it gets me every time :D

  • What is up with 'the move "?? Maybe they should have let the white boys dance.

  • @72rocknrolla up until I read your comment I thought that was his hair..

  • @72rocknrolla thats Johnnie wilder he's what makes up heatwave.....

  • @72rocknrolla And what difference does that make? Heatwave was a great band with a terrific sound..."Happy" or not.

  • @72rocknrolla He's wasn't. I saw the group on unsung, he was married to the same woman until the day that he died. He also sadly became paralyzed years latter from the neck down, but he kept his passion going!

  • @72rocknrolla i thought that too ! lol but hes straight . lol

  • Thanks for posting. Great song.

  • i wonder did they feel as gay as they look in them outfits. i know they didnt. they thought they was the bomb outfits. yo baby? you look thirsty. let me get you a drank. ok big daddy.

  • Let's try to lighten the mood of this "heatwave" with a little "Heatwave". Notice the nerdy-looking white dude playing keyboards. He is Rod Temperton from Britain. He wrote the majority of Michael Jackson's early hit songs--including the song "Thriller". Not bad for a snaggle-toothed Englishman...

  • This was the first record I bought when this came out - from Globe Road records, Bethnal Green, London

  • これも大好き!

  • When I open your channel I find out that cats in Japan look exactly the same as in Europe, no smaller eyes :-)

  • @fritz51355 I'm in Mexico watching this musical film projection how is that different?

  • Great fun song to dance to. Who remember roller skating to this music? lol cool, fun times. Even now I still love dancing to it.

  • Dance music simply would not be the same without his influence, a genius who's production is second to none and simply never gained the fame he deserved, although he never sought it. A white man yes, an Englishman certainly but most of all a gentleman and all this from a small seaside town in Lincolnshire. Who said white people don't have SOUL uh?

  • @MrBlaqdave, Rod not only produced Thriller (the track) he wrote it along with "Off the Wall" (the title track) from the previous album, "Rock with You" and "Burn this Disco Out" for MJ and many many more from The Brothers Johnson and Aretha herself.

    Contd...
