I bought one at FYE today for 10 bucks. But some details are missing to it. It's not a pen, there's a switch to turn it on instead of a button, and it doesn't make any noise. It said it was just an LED torch light. But I don't really care. It's still cool. :)

Are you kidding, thayer wouldn't have used that! It's only a toy! The original 1-2 was made of resin, and it always broke, thats why they had to replaced it! It was crap!

The production team secured molds of the toy replica in order to make a more reliable prop for the next season."

he story goes like this: the prop made for the new series was small. Then this toy came out - it was bigger to accommodate the batteries - and the Doctor Who producers revamped the TV prop on a mold from this toy. So this Sonic Screwdriver is exactly the same size as the one The Doctor uses on TV!

@legomaster931 That is an old false rumor. No CO toy or molds taken from the toy were ever used by the show. The CO toy is over sized to all of the 9th-10th screen used versions that were custom made and continued to break all the way until the 11th Doctor got his new one. The 11th Doctor's screwdriver from CO is also over sized and the actual prop is constantly breaking due to the rough handling it receives during filming. I can't believe that rumor is still being taken as fact.

I have the end of time one when I push the button I can't hardly hear the sound. I did I video and when | played it it came out loud and clear. Is it because I got a bad toy and need to return it back to get a new one? If I do I might get a new one and it be the same. Did anyone get the same thing on theirs?

@JediMichael2003 i got it and it is a low sound the reason for this is there was a malfunction at the factory and they put the sound thing the wrong way round so it makes it really quite they have not repaired it they just decided to leave it so don't send it back

Actually I believe this is the 10th Doctor's screwdriver ONLY. The 9th one that was made doesn't make noise or write. I'm pretty sure I'm right. And of course the 11th one like pops open.

I have to say, I love mine, but I used it a bit vigorously (no euphanism there, just plain me being an idiot, flicking it up and down and 'unlocking' everything!) and I managed to lose the little cap to the slider. Hopefully, someone could answer a question I've had for a while. I'm a gigantic nerd for the Doctor, and I need a good, small flashlight. Always I've thought of a Sonic as a way to keep to my taste and fulfill some utility. I've been looking into these for a while as well as considering making a custom one. Still, the noise and such would be nice, along with the look. My question is as follows. I know it has the blue filter and only appears to be one little LED, but is it good as a light?

Im a big fan of Drwho and Torchwood and what great about it is I live 20mins from the studio lol. Go past it all the time I Nearly had a job there once. Also theres an exibition were all the props go to in cardiff where torchwood is set.

This actually made me really happy. I had just bought this while I was in England visiting my finacee. Love it to death, one of my favourite toys I've ever purchased. Well worth the 20 bucks.

My finacee and I actually got a little too excited about how awesome it was, we ran around the house for about 20 minutes "unlocking" every door there was. Hahaha. It was quite fun.

I think you're a little mixed up. 9th and 10th both used this Screwdriver while 11th (The most recent) has the larger golden/silver one with the green tip.

8th had a sort of telescopic screwdriver that looked nothing like these.
