I did it on top of my bed =)) I figured that it wouldn't matter even if I had a tripod since it'd still bounce up and down. But my next one will not be on my bed anymore :D

Windows Movie Maker is able to make stopmotion videos at 10fps.
So you take 10 pictures for 1 second of solving.
Why not try JPGVideo?
It allows more than 10 frames per second.
For smooth flow, 25 frames per second is recommended.
Since your average is about 15 seconds and below, 25 x 15 = 375, and therefore 375 pictures are needed for smooth flowing images.
Oh yeah, good job on your first stop motion. I really like the cute background movements.
