  • This must be the best records ever made.

  • So THIS is where William Shatner got the idea of talking through songs....

  • If you consider the crap that has passed for pop music since about 1975, especially hip-hop, so-called R&B, rap, etc, this sounds like a masterpiece.

  • Eamonn was the original host of the hugely popular This Is Your Life - the producer of this record George Martin was a subject on TIYL in 1980. For more information visit - bigredbook.info

  • The actual song isn't bad and in fact is an old classic. It's just the performance. I don't think it's that Eamon isn't American, but his voice sounds too stilted, like he's giving a bad reading of Shakespeare. He sounds exactly like a terrible actor delivering his lines. To hear how it should be done, listen to Jim Reeves' version.

  • hhhh

  • It got to 18 on the UK charts in 1956, it can't be that bad many songs now considered classics never entered the charts, never mind making the top 20. In my opinon the best version of a great song. I'll try and upload the full version nearly 6 minutes long

  • I remember listening to Kenny Everett playing this on 'The World's Worst Radio Show' on Capitol Radio in the late 1970'2. Posted by Zanny1435

Imagine the gall of anyone in the 1970's calling the product of another era "the worst"!

  • It's so terrible it\s great!

  • Hey, Billy Vaughns' version wasn't much better, but I actually like this obsure version.

  • this is so bad its gooddddddddd

  • This was my very first record, a precious possession. My 'little' brother broke it, must have been forty years ago, and he's been trying to make it up to me ever since. Today I logged on to YouTube for the first time and can't believe I found this masterpiece!

    Poorlypam

  • Well, I've been waiting for someone to post this version. This is the first time I heard this song and I believe this is the best version.

  • I remember listening to Kenny Everett playing this on 'The World's Worst Radio Show'on Capital Radio in the late 1970s.

    Happy Days.Thanks for the memory.

  • Thanks Zanny, it is pretty awful isn't it! I'm surprised that this video has had so many hits.
