  • Thank you for your reply dear lady, I also recall reading an article some years ago and it said that people who regularly engage in a hobby or a task that causes time to move by very quickly get a much needed mental break and the end result is a more relaxed state of mind with a higher potental for personal contentment or happyness.... So.. You have two children...... Are you a married woman if you don't mind my asking. You are very cute but I don't want to flirt with an attached woman you know.

  • Your videos make me happy.... But I must say, you are so very charming that it's difficult for me to completly focus on the message...... Your Hot.

As far as Happiness is concerned.......... It's diffrent for diffrent people.. But for most people I think it involves a sence of security, a range of creative outlets and the time to induldge them. It's a matter of positive exchanges with people you feel close too and it's about spending time outside ones own head..

  • @Maxamus101

It makes me happy that my videos make you happy :-)

I agree with you that security is so important, and about having time to do things you enjoy doing........ in fact having some free time makes me very happy because that's when i can be creative (making videos for example)

    :-)

  • Very good video. I have to agree with some of what you have said. It is true we may feel happy or sad if, say, we're in a room of say, happy or sad people, we may leave feeling like that. And this is energy, and so depending on the individual depends on whether they would more easily pick up on that emotion. But this is from my perspective anyway.

I have to agree if more people tried to be happy and be less ignorant I'm sure good things would happen on a larger scale.

  • @benstones93 Of course being happy and not being ignorant are two different things, but often ignorance is the biggest problem for us humans in general.

  • I'm very happy - always have been. Really, I have been so lucky and blessed to have everything I've wanted (and had the good sense to "keep my eye simple") and I've achieved almost everything I have ever wanted to, BUT I am a good worrier. A real good worrier. Olympic Quality Gold Medal Worrier. Now, how to cure that ailment is a good one to ponder. (Or not, since I'd then probably worry about it far too much.)

  • Funny because I was thinking of doing a "Can I Ax U Sumthin" about happiness. Maybe I will.

It would make me happy if you would pop over for a cup of tea.

  • @Tobie2

I hope you do make that video tobie3 and if i could jump on a plane right now this minute to visit you i would

    :-)

  • @Tinkerlove13

I wish you could see what a BIG smile i had when i saw that Tinkerlove13 had been watching my video!!

    I do miss your videos

    x hugs x

  • Trish I wish one of my coworkers could hear this. I agree I choose to be happy

  • I can smile at strangers, but I still, even at age 50, find it very difficult to speak to anybody out in public.

  • happiness is when you have family and friends to care and spend time with

  • ♪♫ I'm not a girl who misses much

    [Do-do-do, oh yeah] ♪♫

[... and here I thought that] Happiness is a Warm Gun [bang, bang. shoot, shoot] ♪♫

I agree with you 100% that happiness comes from within ... it's all about the attitude. Outside influences can definitely have an impact but how you choose to deal with your lot in life is your decision alone.

Love you Twish ... YOU make ME happy! =o)

  • Well said. What makes me smile about you and happy is your wonderful videos and that we are friends on Facebook.

  • The movies Hurt Locker and Waterworld comes to my mind when I think about happiness. The main character is willing to give up what is considered normal by everyone else in their world in order to be in a place that they want to be in. I consider people that have found their place in the world, or are trying to find their place in the world, to be happy.

  • What a great question. I think is a combination of things.

I am not content...I used to be happy within but somehow lost it.

You are right it is not the material things that keep you happy. Thank goodness I have friends here on YT.

    You make me feel happy.

Yes if your hear sad all the time it affects us.

Seems like families that do not have a lot seem to be so happy.

I am at a lose now. I do not know the answer to what will make me happy.

    BIG HUGS

  • I am commenting as I listen to you - I think happiness like sadness is infectious! It's easy to spread! I think I am generally happy - but then maybe I've perfected the art of denial of negative things in my life because they are not productive! Often, I like to compliment pretty ladies. If I do it properly, I spread a little happiness! And that also makes me happier! It's sort of self- generating - if you begin the process!

  • I think happiness is something we realize that we have attained! The hard part is the realization! I refer to the Katersoneseven videos of Kate & Cory falling in love at the beginning of 2012. It's only in the days of mid January that their eyes show complete happiness together! They have realized it, let down their guard a bit and trust the feelings they are feeling! It is quite inspiring to watch them in love - it's also quite gutsy for them to expose their lives on you tube like they do!

  • Contentment is a beautiful thing. I am happy most of the time. One way to keep our perspective in check is to just look at the people that don't even have food or a roof over their heads. When I see homeless people I think to myself that I don't need for truly anything important that I don't already have access to. You are so right...attitude is a huge part of our happiness. We stopped watching the news two years ago and are so much happier because of that. I wish we could share tea!

  • Good video Trish ☺

  • @EmCSpiteri1

  • oh trish.. thank you so much for your video. what would make me happy? to know that I am making a positive difference everyday

  • @slmeyer22

I know that you are making a positive difference every day and i am proud of you for it

    :-)

  • You could go ahead and send me that check anyway. I'll take my chances.

  • @anmoose

I shall leave it blank, just fill in the amount you want!!!

    ;-)

  • I try to make a point of stopping every day to just savor my happiness.

Sometimes I sit and crochet for a while, or I come to YouTube and watch a nice video, or I sit by the fire and just watch the flames dance. Singing in the choir makes me very happy, too.

I agree that happiness comes from within. I've also learned that there are some people who can't be cheered up no matter how hard you try, and it is important to know when to give up so I don't end up down in the dumps with them.

  • @amjPeace You are so right that some people revel in their own misery and that at times the best thing for yourself is to walk away so that you don't get dragged down with them... i have known such people myself and no matter how i tried they just didn't want to be helped

  • Well said Trish! Wonderful vlog!!!

  • @maddiepost1

Thank you Maddie, i see a similarity in your outlook on life... i know that whenever i watch your videos i always go away smiling

  • My job made me happy & I would like to get back to work doing my thing. Can you hook me up? lol Francis Bacon said "In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present." I think many don't understand that every day is not going to be a great day & they wallow in the "bad" things that happen to them, no matter how trivial (IMO) & they forget to appreciate what they do have. To me, being content is happiness as well. Being at peace is a wonderful thing.

Oh thank you Mike, you flatter me, but in a way you're right because i would love to give all my youtube friends a big hug

    :-)

  • Brava Twish. When I read Eleanor Roosevelt quote "Happiness is not a goal; it is a by-product." it changed me.(With the exception of: a brain that is not healthy, or suffering due to loss or illness). For me, happiness is contentment. Joy is what I guess people describe as happiness. I find joy in many, many things, nature, animals and people without an agenda ;)

(which is difficult in my field of employment)

  • @lulufullana

You are so right, and i too find joy in nature, animals and people and i am fortunate in having a positive outlook on life even during the not so good times

  • Helping other people gives a satisfaction that helps the spark of happiness within the soul. if you believe the whole world is against you its time to fight back and talk to people and make friends you then realize the that it was within your own head

  • @clivedavies3

Hello Clive, yes you're right that helping others brings a joy to yourself and hopefully to them too...

  • having money dose not make your life complete happiness comes from within your self inner feelings can be influenced by other people around you. no matter how bad things feel now they all ways get better. its like the song look on the bright side of life my mother all-ways said look at other people around you have they got what you've got and you will find people a lot worse off than you. we all moan but there is always the funny side of things that will eventually make you smile.

  • @clivedavies3

My birth mother requested that the song 'always look on the bright side of life' was played at her funeral... it made us all smile on what was otherwise a sad day

  • Well said. I agree with you on many points. I do think that people who live as Debbie Downers, to a certain degree, look for the dark cloud in the silver linings. Great video.

  • @timido66

Thanks our Van, some people seem to enjoy their own misery in a funny way that i will never understand

  • Hi Trish, First of all you look very pretty today :) For me contentment equals happiness. If you're content with your life everything else just seems to fall into place....

  • @mshockey73

Thanks Cheryl, i am feeling a lot better after not being well for a while, it's nice to know my appearance has improved with my improved health.... you are right about things falling into place if you have a certain contentment with life

  • I do agree that happiness is contagious. In the end, it's certainly something every person finds in their own way. Great topic!

  • @NaturalTwentyFilms

Thanks so much for watching, yes happiness is contagious, i am always drawn to positivity

    :-)

  • Trish almost immediately when you asked if I was happy, I said to myself. I'm content. I don't think happiness is a 24/7 state of mind. But I am definitely am content and that makes me happy. We can carry on and be in a bad mood all the time and soon we become sour pusses and the people around us don't want to be around us. I don't want to be around a sour puss all the time. We all have bad days... but we have so much to be thankful for also. Hugs girl.. Hope you are doing well.

  • @imperceptibleme

Hi Melissa, i think it's a mistake many people make to feel they need to feel 'happy' 24/7 because that is not how life is, but if we can be content with our lot then we have a good base for coping in life

    :-)

  • I hate when people say money does not make you happy...Money would make me very happy. to be able to do the things I want to and to not have to scrap by all the time...to travel and just live a full life... It is amazing on how I do make myself happy with what I do have...It is all in the attitude...

  • @DawndeeDALLAS

Having money certainly gives us choices that otherwise we can't have... i think if the economies of the world were sorted out so that we could all earn a decent wage for a decent days work then we would all benefit. Life can be really tough financially and yes being without enough money does have a negative effect on our well-being

    x hugs x

  • I am happy most the time, If I can be creative it comes.

  • @izzysmart

I see you as a positive person Izzy, you speak out at what's wrong in the world but you never seem to let it get to you

  • I have started hating watching the news it all seems to be doom and gloom from all over the workd thats all they want us to hear there have to be some happy stories out there too....

  • @Carballoca even if you don't watch the news you can still take in all the negativity in subtle subliminal ways. As soon as you tune into email and youtube the propaganda hits you in the face. It's good though that people recognise the reasons for this publicity and ignore it. Be the change you want to see-GHANDI...good advice. Even if you don't watch tv news the other tv programmes have a subliminal message-Predictive Programming it is called another branch of Social Engineering.

  • @Carballoca

I like to know what's going on in the world but i wish they wouldn't make us all feel quite so miserable with their endless articles on bad news stories...there is such a lot of good that's happening too which we rarely hear about

  • I think true happiness comes from with in weather your extremely wealthy or extremely poor in all reality you are all you have yes you may have a family & friends but they cant make you happy 24/7 happiness comes from deep from inside yourself...I find the older I get the friendlier I have become about talking to strangers like the other day had a convo with a young woman over a pile of books that were 25-30 dollars books that were 3-5 dollars that the store was trying to get rid of....

  • @Carballoca nice comment,you are right.

  • @Carballoca

Yes i too am far more outgoing now i'm older and i can talk to anyone quite comfortably.... not a thing i found easy when i was younger

  • I wish I was content. But I'm really not. I show how I really feel, no need to pretend an emotion if I'm not really feeling happy. Hope that makes sense. =)

  • @VivaLaJoy77 as i said before happiness is an illusion. At least you have the guts and the honesty to come here and make a comment. It does make sense because you see other people on glossy tv ads acting happy and they make you think that you should be blissfully happy when you don't need to be. Other people you see on the street seem happy but you don't see the pain and the fear within which they have become specialised in hiding it. :-)

  • @philipsmovies Thank you, Im glad you understood what I was saying. I'm happy if I accomplish something or by someone making me happy. Any other time I'm just down and out.

  • @VivaLaJoy77 and i forgot to say-making other people happy or doing a good turn for someone can make you happy too. We have been educated to believe that we should do something accomplished so that we feel guilty if we don't. It's all part of the curriculum to promote competitiveness and to create discord between people and communities. That's why we see children cheating and comepting at sports and in exams.

  • It would make me happy if you blew me a kiss and a wink in your next video...and i hope that makes you happy. I hope you are happy Twish-if you are ever feeling down please get in touch. As you say, fresh air and exercise is good for you. Eating natural coloured fruits and veg can also make big changes in one's health-it has made a big change with me recently.

  • @philipsmovies

I will certainly wink at you and blow you a kiss in an upcoming video!

Yes you're right about the food that you eat having an effect on your well-being

    :-)

  • @twish1999 thanks Twish, i will look forward to that. :-)

  • It's true..imho that happiness is just an illusion. The word "happy" in italian is "Contento". To be content is a better way of looking at it-happiness is just a word that comes from tv advertisers who associated a product with being happy-the product makes you happy by association. Personally, i am in a good mood at the moment. I am irritated by my computer which is driving me mad at the moment. Ignore the negativity in the media and go on much stronger. The news is a process of manipulation.

  • @philipsmovies

I didn't know that the Italian word for happiness is contento, but i'm not surprised either!

You're right about the news being a source of manipulation....

  • @twish1999 yeah, when the italians say contento it is however a slightly different meaning which is true to the original meaning of the word. Sono contento che tu ha trovato un lavore---i am happy that you have found work. If you haven't been to Italy you should go at some stage. The language is difficult to learn but it's about learning the grammar and the verbs and not to fear experimenting in the country of origin.

  • @philipsmovies correction....che tu ha trovato il lavoro....mi dispiace-i am sorry. Don't be surprised to find elementary italian tuition here on youtube and a batch of italian language movies as well. This could open up a whole new chapter for you. A word of warning though, the romantic image of Italy is false though-but it is true that the italians are more charming and easy going when it comes to romance. It is a volatile country full of culture, colour, variety & history.

  • my friend good night..ty
