Okay, I confess; I'm 18 and I have absolutely no knowledge of make-up, at all.

I mean, I know about eye shadow or mascara or lipstick and stuff, but that's about it. I didn't even know such a thing as highlighters existed.

I don't know what colours to use or what suits me best or anything.

It kinda makes it hard to buy stuff for me @_@

Hi there, could you please advise me on what type of foundation is good for covering open pores, Unfortunately I am blesses with very large pores, I have yet to find a foundation that actually covers without sitting in the pores like flesh coloured freckles =( Thanks

I also have large pores and foundation alone will not cover large pores. May I suggest a primer like from Smashbox Photofinish or Dr Brandt or any other primer; you can find at Sephora. Use the primer over the pores the proceed with the foundation. It really does make a difference. Hope this helps.

yea....kinda. It's definately not cheap and not everybody can afford it. I don't own a single MAC thing just because I feel that it is expensive but that's not to say the quality isn't good. I WISH I could afford MAC lol

Hey modelgirl! :-) Actually, if you are thinking in a great proportion quality/price, they aren't. But they are more expensive than others brands. To me they're definitely worth if you're looking for basics of make up or splendid brushes. Hope i helped! :-D

People have always commented on how nice my makeup is. I studied how to put make up on in books. These days (I'm 32) you can get all the tutorials on youtube. While I do like Mac now I'm older and have the money, most of my teens and twenties I used cover girl and revlon. It is really about applying the make up well not necessarily having the best and most expensive brand.

I use Carbon eyeshadow by MAC every single day. It's great with a skinny brush to line the top (and bottom if you wish) of your eyes. It's much softer than using a pencil.

I've never used a high end lipstick. I use use Max Factor long wear that stays on till I wash it off. Is there a difference and do MAC lipsticks stay on or do you have to keep applying?

It is odd that you said this video is for beginners and teenagers and then come out and say you recomment one of the most, if not thy most, expensive lines...MAC. Revlon and Cover Girl is also world wide, AND CHEAPER.

No, actually what I said was that this was a recommendation for people who want to take a step up from drugstore makeup and are unsure of what to buy from a more high end brand. And I think I was clear that I chose MAC because it's a department store line that is widely available. MAC is not the most expensive line of makeup, in fact for higher end brands, its one of the cheapest. But if you can't afford it, that's fine, I'm sure Revlon works for some people as well.

Also, I can't really make recommendations of lines that I don't know so well, I personally don't use a lot of Revlon or Covergirl or drugstore lines in general, so I can't really tell viewers to use a line that I don't know much about. I do use some drugstore products like eyeliner, mascara and even some lip products, but not so much that I am very enthused with the other products. Generally they have not worked out for me...

tented moisturizer is really good if you want a liquid foundation but one that is not ca key. Mary Kay makes a good one and you can get them any where in the world

i have a question about blushes...okay so i have cheeks that get red really easily (like when i lugh or just even get mildly embarrassed) and my mom told me i could take my foundation(liquid) and put less on my cheeks and then i wouldn't have to use blush....is this true or do you reccomend using blush?

Mineral makeup just means that the ingredients contain natural minerals, which are a more "natural" alternative route for your skin. Although that has been debated if mineral makeup is really "better" for your skin than normal makeup. Traditional foundation generally does not contain these minerals. Mineral foundation is normally a powder, either loose or pressed.

I have one question, is Margin by mac considered a peach blush? If so, you wear that with warm colours right? So does that mean you wear it with reds, browns, purples? or am I confused?

I think Margin is on the peachy side, I don't have this blush so am not totally sure. There's no rules for which blush to use with which colors, but it's easier to combine a warm colored blush with warm colors (basically any colors not containing any blue pigmentation or undertone). Purple is usually considered a cool tone, however, there are purples that are leaning towards the warm spectrum, if they contain a lot of red, etc.
