He is the 'keyholder' of heaven (v19) and nothing to do with the Church's foundation.

This makes me sad... This is not Catholic nor are they Catholic priests... simply another Protestant group that will split, split and re-split. The Catholic Church in its mercy and love prays for them, despite their heresy and error.

If, however, you are a women who wants to be a priest out of selfishness or jealousy, than you are unworthy for priesthood anyway because of your pride. @Catholic00012 Actually, read Matthew 16:18. Jesus is not referring to Peter personally. He is referring to his insight in recognising Christ as the Messiah. The RC Church has perpetuated this lie for 2 millennia. Jesus calls peter personally as 'Simon' (v17) but then refers to his attitude as 'the rock on which I will build my Church', not Peter himself. He is the 'keyholder' of heaven (v19) and nothing to do with the Church's foundation.

Having 2 degrees in chemistry, & involved in science education at a high level (chemistry, astronomy & cosmology) for nearly 30 years, I regard myself as pretty intelligent, analytical & rational. However, as I'm a Christian ordained minister too, I'm of the opinion that not all Christians are as closed-minded as you think - or even may wish, possible to make yourself feel that little bit more superior?

And place the love of God (in Christ, for a Christian) and the love for others on a much lower setting than their love for religion, man-made ritual, pomp, wealth, man-made rules or an abuse of scripture. Just look at some of the venomous comments here from some Catholics as proof of this abomination.

@ravetunes Actually, as a Christian, I regard scripture as God-INSPIRED but not God-written, and not something to be worshipped at the expense of Christian love.But as for this video there is nothing scriptural to say that women should not be ordained - it's just a man made rule by misogynists. Nor is there anything that condemns the homosexuality that we know today.

of course the church could have women priests--IF treated as a theological issue--who was it that saw the risen lord first--the error the idolatry the sin of women priesthood is different--it is the false equivalency between saying women can be priests or women can be doctors--the episcopal church such as it is has done this. How could there be woman priests? Through ecumenical council-I find most of those women wanting to be priests idolatrous.

@Rotebuehl1 i thought i had--I would like women priests-- in fact I think it is theologically justified BUT to see it as part of the larger economy of "rights" is bowing down to the world i.e. kneeling before a false god and the church for the worse and better is contra mundum. It is NOT like having the right to be a lawyer to see it as a "right" is what I meant by idolatrous a word I use because I can't find a secular word.I trust I make myself obscure!

These woman are stepping beyond their boundaries. The Catholic Church has a place for woman in their own rights... to become a Nun, the vows that committing oneself to spiritual life; But these poor woman want more than what they should be.

Women can not be priests. The matter and form of all the sacraments was decided when Christ was personally present here on earth, and that authority was given to Peter and the bishops of Rome to enforce forever. The matter for Orders is a "vir"...a male. Any person participating in this is excommunicated, any "sacraments" are invalid, null and mortally sinful. Totally fake.

Yes, they are now "outside" the Church. But for all intents and purposes they are still officially ordained Priests in the eyes of God and community of their congregations.
God did not look at brain matter or sex parts - it is only men who instituted that concept.
Men and women do have different strengths and attributes, but that was always so they could make a team and work together in all formats of life.

The Church as a male dominant Institution for almost 2000 years. But Jesus walked with women, had women who were his faithful followers, moreso that some of the men, and Romans 16 shows clearly that women were leaders along with the men in Church.
Over 50% of population has been denied their rightful places and subjucated under men, when that was not the intention of Jesus.

I think you are confused ! It must be first stated that the Greek term diakonos, or its feminine counterpart, diakona, means literally "a servant. "Deacon" can refer to either to one serving in the office of a deacon, or simply as a servant ( Act 6:4 )
The term diakona in Romans 16:1 do not describe the office of the deacon, but simply the idea that Phoebe is a servant. We see that a deacon must be the husband of one wife, and the Greek term is specific for "wife," gunaikes.
