  • Well here we go again tomorrow. Heart says Roger, but i think the match will be very similar to the final 3 years ago and Rafa will prevail. Rafa just has the Roger's number in the big matches. Hope I'm wrong, but just can't see how Roger will get out of that Rafa forehand to Roger's backhand crosscourt exchange.

  • That match was magic and crazy

  • Nadal was at his best form in this tournament. He made the most impossible shots I've ever seen.

  • Insanely great tennis...both of them.

  • this was clearly a tough loss, for federer to take..the match was pretty even for 4 sets and then federer, didn´t play so great in the 5th set, rafa just mantained his level and the result was, what it was..

  • 6:18 -- to this day, I still can't decipher how he pulled that out of the bag.

  • The day Nadal switched to long sleeves. XD

  • Comment removed

  • Nadal's been very, very lucky to win this third set. Federer just failed too much opportunities.

  • @HornyGates That's how you win matches in tennis. You etheir hit a great shot / winner or your opponent make a mistake. It's simple. Luck is more like when you hit the net and win the point. Everything else is an earned point. Nadal earned those points, he played really good and Roger too..

  • @TheAbbanddonn I agree, but Federer was playing better tennis on the day,he failed too much break points in this third set (wich would give him a win there for sure) and totally lost his serve ability in the whole match. Too bad.

  • Cry poor baby... cry!! Jajajaja. I´m sick of Federer

  • even though the wimbledon 2008 final was at my home grand slam cause it was in th uk. i actually think this match in the australian open final was a better match. just cause the shots in this match especially by rafa were more spectacular imo.

  • Amazing Nadal,if you rememberhe was in semifinal on court for five hours...

  • Amazing Nadal,if you rememberhe was in semifinal on court for fice hours...

  • i think both players played their top of their game in this final.

    fucking amazing

  • @TheWindupDream I'm not a huge federer fan, but 16 grand slams....

  • 2:40. que grande nadal

  • Nadal just got 1 more Game than Federer in the end...

  • @BURNS6990 thank you for agreeing I wish everybody could understand. I mean the fans argue while both fed and nadal (who are great rivals) have so much mutual respect for each others careers

  • Everyone who's taking side of fed or nadal arguing should shut the fuck up. They are two legends of the sport and fans should respect both of their abilities. Federer and nadal rivalry is the greatest of all. I'm a federer fan, but I respect nadal. So sit back and enjoy these matches.

    Thank you

  • @superchelsea112 couldn't agree more. i am a full out nadal fan, but i'd be lying if i said that i don't cheer for both of them to make it to every final, just so i can see another piece of tennis history.

  • @BURNS6990 well ... only a Nadal fan would want a Federer Nadal final because at this point in time Federer can't beat Nadal . And over 5 sets ... its almost impossible.. I think ever since 08 .. Federer has been far from his best.. And history may be ruined if federer nadal face off in more grand slam finals... don't you think so?

  • @TheFedererNadallover no...look at nadal now. he's far behind federer when it comes down to beating djokovic. i'd actually like a match up between these to to see if federer age 30 stil has got what it takes to beat nadal. btw bth of them are amongst the best therer ever were :)

  • @cloudcitycircle Sure... but come on ... u still think Federer can beat Nadal over 5 sets? And even if he has to beat nadal, he'll have to do so in straight sets..

  • @TheFedererNadallover

not on clay perhaps...but in general i'D say yes he can :)

  • @superchelsea112 Right on!!! I'm a Nadal fan. But if there is a match I want to watch in every tournament is Federer-Nadal. I don't think Federer has anything else to prove. Nadal is only a shadow in his career. That's a benefit for the fans. Federer is the best of all time. Nadal is pursuing his own history . Federer raised the bar. Nadal went on to equal the bar. And if they don't meet you'll find me rooting for either one of'em.

  • @superchelsea112

    signed!

  • I like this Nadal better. He actually attacks his backhand. Now it's all forehand.

  • @alo781ooo i know i wish he hit attacked more backhands down the line agaisnt djokovic

  • @Came7on no no no, i hate nadal now, im glad djokovic is thrashing him

  • @Came7on, if ya watch the 2010 US open final.. thats how Nadal has to play with good serve good attacking.

  • Inhuman. Both of them.

  • this announcer makes the game so much more exciting. he should announce every fed rafa match

  • The best tennis game of all time...handsomely beating the 2008 Wimbledon final. Sublime tennis by both men. Except Federer in the 5th. Overall, the highlights of this game beat any other. My favourite rally from this game, and probably of all time, 4th set, 2-2 40-40, Federer serving. 6:10 on this clip. E P I C

  • its the gentleman vs the Gangsta. lol

  • How does he play like this against Federer and like turd blossoms against Djokovic Wimbledon 2011??!

  • @QuiksiIver its the backhand. Djokovic always has the flat and deep bh to trouble him. 100% of the time nadal used the short federer backhand to neutralise the rally.

  • fsfssf

  • The Wimbledon 2008 might be the greatest match of all time, but the fourth game of the fourth set gotta be the greatest game of all time. Incredibly unbelievable mind-blowing tennis.

  • That point at 6:09 is incredible, Nadal is just so hard to put away

In his match against Murray today he hit 42 winners and just 7 unforced errors, best player ever

  • 8.04 look how federer look exhausted at the beginning of the 5th set , reason why he couldn't get through it

  • I don't know how you can say bad things about Rafa and Roger after seeing all their matches...

  • The last final between the first seeded and the second seeded in a Grand Slam...

  • 6:31 "That is Rediculous" LOL

  • losing this final and the epic wimbledon final, sort of gives roger a taste, of what he does to many player´s on tour, who don´t have grand slam titles, because they lost roger..no offense to the federer express, just an observation..

  • federers defence at 6:22 is not from this planet

  • he was the best then but djokovic is now! it's obvious and his confidence is still growing. he's got more talent to unleash. nadal looks worn out after 2 sets these days.

  • dude federer pooped his pants in practice.

  • 6:10 is the best point I've ever seen. How did Nadal get so much pace on the last shot hunched down and sliding to his left? Impossible.

  • i agree, I think Federer/Nadal is maybe the best rivalry in all of sports...ever. At the very least, it's one of the greatest 1-on-1 sport rivalries

  • Look how Federer's leg gets crossed during every epic forehand. So beautiful! I watch his videos just for that. Look at the elegance in each shot. Whereas Nadal looks a bit ugly. Thumbs up if you think Nadal will fade away in about 2 years when he can't run!

  • @michaeljackson5able You do realize that Nadal isn't even 30 yet and his footwork is amazing during this match. He will be able to run for years to come

  • this is possibly the best match in history of tennis.

  • the best rivary of all Sports! Nadal and federer Made tennis Look Cooler than eny other sports!

  • @DonChilenito

agreed, Nadal made tennis look like a true Rocky Balboa sport

and Federer made tennis look elegant and beautiful whilst being an ambassador for the sport

Sampas was boring in personality and Agassi was too much of a rebel to promote tennis as a good sport

  • getoutofhere!

    Get Out Of Here!!

    I've seen it all now!!!

    This is ridiculous!!!!

    (great commentating)

  • Federer vs nadal, with no first serve..

  • okay... some of those shots that federer comes up with here are just incredible but nadal is so unbelievably fast that he somehow manages to get them... two masters on the court!

  • Federer is a tennis genius. Nadal is a tennis monster. That's all that can be said

  • DID THIS MATCH HAPPEN ON EARTH??!!!

  • @fawazaltaf I know right? I watch minute 5.55-6.30 then i fall asleep with a smile on my face. It's my favorite pill :-)

  • nadal shows just how well fuentes has worked

  • I think this match, in pure tennis tennis terms is higher quality than the wimb 08 final, some of the rallies are just a joy to watch, both at absolute top of there game and some unbelievable shot making, the commentary adds to the drama as well and theyre sheere joy at watching it comes through....the tennis world and us as fans are truly blessed to have these two at the same time....i could watch this all day long!!

  • The commenter used basically all the praises from Mortal Kombat.

  • 1st Nadal-Federer Wimbledon 2008

    2nd Nadal-Federer AO 2009

    3rd Djokovic-Federer US Open 2010

  • I love the text under the video ! Thanks for posting this

  • superbe !

  • silly courts being slowed down caused this. Fed did all work on that first point and lost cause the rally is never over.

  • @DLPBurke Dude, with all due respect... you got to get your head out of your ass. This a hardcourt and is fast. Sure it's not as fast as the US Open but it's damn fast. Just watch the rallies and tell me this court is slow (so I can laugh). Stop making excuses, Nadal faced Federer in this match with a day less rest and a record semi-final of over 5hrs!!! Guess what, Nadal STILL WON. Learn to appreciate his greatness and stop being a suck.

  • @mousavsm I wouldn't say Rafa is better just because he has better h2h. One day a 21- year old starplayer will beat a 28-year old Rafa and has a better h2h than Rafa, will you say the new player is better than Rafa? Federer was untouchable when he was at peak and Rafa was young and now Rafa has peaked and Federer has gone down a bit.

After this Rafa will go down for sure someone replaces him... It's life,,,

  • @ramzidane True. I didn't say Rafa was better because of the h2h. First of all, I think these two are separated by much. However, Rafa has many things on his side (faster GS pace, younger career slam, more atp 1000 titles, olympic singles gold, better overall record, just to name some of them) and this is why I think he has the edge. In their first ever meeting on hardcourts (Rafa was 17 and Roger was 22 and number 1 in the world), Rafa beat Roger 6-3. 6-3...just saying...

  • @ramzidane Also look at their matchups in big matches.... Rafa has a pronounced edge in this category, too.

  • @ramzidane I meant.... I DON'T think these two are separated by much.... but yea, I think Rafa has the edge.

  • @ramzidane @ramzidane I meant.... I DON'T think these two are separated by much.... but yea, I think Rafa has the edge.

  • We LOVE RAFA! from the PHILIPPINES!

  • 06:09

this is amazing. never seen anything as good as this in tennis.

  • @kOaMaster2

agree, for me one of the best point ever

  • did federer get mad at nadal at the second to last point??

  • @Luftwaffells No, he got mad at someone in the crowd. If you pay attention, they yell "out." But, the ball was in and the point was good (and Nadal won the point). Not sure what the rule is but a let would be a safe bet. However, they just played it as is and he looked at Rafa like, "really." He wasn't mad at Rafa....If anything, he was probably mad at the judge and even more mad at the ref. I think that's what happened...

  • @Luftwaffells I mean, he was probably mad at the judge and even more mad at the fan (I think you got my point but just clarifying it).

  • uncle toni said that??? Easy to be an hero when you're not!

  • it looks like federer had most of the control in these matches,..and nadal was just defending himself lol

  • @Monatee he did have all the control, and sadly thanks to slower courts defensive players are allowed back in time and again.

  • this is the best match i have ever seen!!!

  • That point that is going on at around 6:30 has to be the best point I've ever seen. By saying this, I consider the great lengths that both players went to to extend it and the shot it finally took to finish it. Unbelievable.

  • Speak to your self, i'm federer Fan, But if he must play against Nadal, i never put my money on federer

  • @Only1059 Well at least last night he was fortunate enough to face a tired Nadal (because of the Murray semi). Nonetheless, if there was a time to bet on Federer, it was last night, as history has proven that a tough semi for Nadal gives Federer a chance at victory. Also, Federer played very well and was very aggressive.

  • @mousavsm 'a tired Nadal'. That's all I hear the last two years. How come Federer never gets tired? Or injured?

  • @ZimmermanTelegram Well if Federer had played a 3 and a half hour semi-final the day before then it would make sense, no? Regardless, I shouldn't take anything away from Federer because he won and he played very good. I was just stating that Nadal obviously felt the Murray match (it's only natural, no?). I just hope they face in some GS finals this coming year - those matches are so intriguing and exciting! Congrats to Roger, he won this past weekend.

  • @mousavsm true, but don't forget, Federer played for the last five weeks, Nadal was mostly resting;)

But yes, let's hope they'll face in Melbourne.

  • @ZimmermanTelegram Yea you're right. One thing I noticed from Nadal's standpoint during the whole tournament was his lack of ability to serve at a good level (like that he exhibited during the US Open). That may be attributable to the lack of action. Regardless, these two are the kings of tennis and I'm the same as you; I really hope we get to see them in the Aussie Open final. Don't you agree, that Aussie Open final was the best of their matches (quality-wise)?

  • @mousavsm I agree, i have to admit that was one of the best matches I've ever seen, Wimbledon 2008 is close though.

  • @mousavsm Are you talking about the same guy that was running up and down the hall way before heading to the court on the very same day...and when entering the court...ran around on one side of the court as if there was no 2morrow...lol yeh he must of been tired...please spear the excuses..u know was well as i do..nadal on countless occasions has had long games before going into a final in the past..and has played at 100% and even most of them won.

  • @DonxRaul That's his style and if you play sports yourself, then you would realise that you don't feel it at the start of a match, but at the END. Secondly, there's psychology involved there and there is also adrenaline. He doesn't want Federer to think he's tired, so he does his usual thing to showcase the fact that he will be hard to beat. He's human, don't forget that. If you watched the Barclays ATP world tour finals then what you saw was a Nadal who progressively got more tired.

  • Comment removed

  • More rest before a final is simply the reward for closing out a match in two sets. It's all part of the game - just as strategy during the actual final.

  • @mousavsm this was just one of those occasions...but this time he was just out played and was given no chances to get back into the game..if was u say is true...wouldn't it have been logical for nadal to not run a marathon before the match and to conserve his strength instead?

  • @DonxRaul But, Federer won and fair is fair. He deserved it because he had an easier semi and that was because he played well in the semi. Him not being as tired for the final was through his own play so I don't want to take anything away from R-Fed. It would just be nice for them to have a day between semi and final in such a big tournament (only my opinion). I'm not arguing with you here friend, realise that.

  • Nobody in the world can make Federer sweat like that like Nadal does!!!

  • @goallervamos nobody in the world can boast about there favorite tennis player without federer in the same sentence. haha

  • @goallervamos I don't think anyone else actually even makes Federer sweat at all

  • look at those barbarian comments here... for shame

  • Wow. Great maturity shown by fans of both players. NID.

  • @GladiatoRule1 = SIMPLY A GOD OF STUPID

    THAT'S ALL I CAN SAY

  • @GladiatoRule1 go ask nadal who god of tennis is

  • @GladiatoRule1 idiot

  • @Cemedy nadal = goddess of womens tennis

    FEDERER = YOUR FATHER

  • @konkoba98 I'm not sure that a baby could reproduce. To suggest that a crying baby could be someones father is sickening.

  • @GladiatoRule1

Nadal is just the best tennis player for all time and a great guy

  • @NeverLose11 yeah i know but some ppl here try to insult rafa so i Responds! and i will do it once more RAFA IS THE GREATEST:)

  • @NeverLose11 he is nowhere near the greatest, check the history books. He is nowhere near 5 US, 4 Aus or 6 Wimb.

  • @DLPBurke

It is clear that Rafa just getting started and he is going so far beyond these numbers

he is going to 8 Rolland, 5 wimb , 4 AO and US , 2 golden medal.

he is making history right now

just watch and enjoy and pray that he never get an injury.

  • @NeverLose11 hahahahahahahahahahahaa good one LOL

  • @NeverLose11 as for never gets an injury, he is the Mumm-Ra of tennis, he is ALWAYS injured and his career will be cut short. Sorry.

  • fEDERER = SIMPLY A GOD OF TENNIS

    THAT'S ALL I CAN SAY

  • Nobody breaks down people mentally more than Nadal. He forces you to hit a shot that is absolutely impossible to return, and it takes a toll on your body and mind, and makes you doubt yourself. For even some as mentally tough as Federer, you can see the doubt in his eyes after he goes down 2-1 sets.

  • Fed had so many oportunities in this match (4-2 up first set). I know it is Nadal presence on the other side of the net the big factor. His speed and power are inmense.

  • everytime nadal grunts, i appreciate federer more

  • @trademrk1 LOL, U MAD

  • @trademrk1 Nadal plays too rough. I'm bored of this top spin shit.

  • @rogerfedererfan98

So, Federer is allowed to win everything, but once someone else starts dominating, they suddenly become boring?

it was friggin boring when Federer was winning everything. Every final wasnt even worth watching, cause youd know Federer would win,

The current situation is perfect. Everyone wins something. Stop seeing Federer as a god, Nadal and Djokovic are as good if not better than him right now

  • @TheQueHegan When Fed was winning everything he played almost perfectly and he plays real tennis... his powerful forehand, his slice backhand, his volley, his serve are awesome and his footwork is so elegant... Nadal only knows how to grunt and how to hit his forehand... his footwork is so boring and uncontrolled...Nowdays Nadal is dominating the tennis with his forehand and his annoying grunt...Just be serious Roger is so elegant and he always surprises you with something else...

  • @rogerfedererfan98

Nadals footwork is boring? Stop the trolling man, it aint working. For all his elegance Federer has nothing on Nadal at the moment. And whats with the hate on the grunting? It actually annoys me more when people are silent. I mean, your hitting that ball pretty hard, and i fully expect you to make some sort of sound. Granted, i dont want to see some of the screaming you see with the woman, but Nadal's grunting is perfectly fine.

  • @TheQueHegan

It annoys you...when people are silent.

    Get out'a' here! lol

  • @Gipshaw

It does! Its like they dont have passion for the sport. I dont need insane screaming like Sjarapova, but i find Nadal's groans normal.

  • Federer o rei e Nadal o principe

  • ABSOLUTE CLASSIC!

That's what you get when you see Nadal and Federer at their best in a Grand Final!

  • 4:15-4:19 nice commentating there

  • @misterlonely1446 hahaha. sounds like he's having a seizure

  • Feds hair was awsome at this time.

    he looked so young

  • Nadal is probably the most explosive player on the tour, while Federer is the most elegant. When you factor in their ages, I'd say they're fairly equally successful, considering the amount of slams they have. The only difference is that Nadal achieved the Career Slam faster, and HAS achieved the Golden Career Slam, but Federer's 16 Slams is monstrous and unprecedented. All I can say is that I'm glad I lived through this rivalry!!

  • @shirgen6 Yea, both players will certainly be greatest in history. I question the longevity of Nadal's success though with how much of toll his body takes. I'm sure Federer is perfectly capable adding to his grand slam streak! Many think he's going down hill, but holy crap, that ridiculous semi-final HAD to end sometime, I'm shocked it wasn't sooner! No matter how good a player is, there is always chance involved every match, people don't really understand this.

  • @shirgen6 Too touche brother touche !

  • @shirgen6 i though federer got the career slam first with the french in 2009. nadal owon us in 2010

  • @joshluo123 Yeah, but Rafa won it when he was 24. That's what I meant by "faster".

  • @shirgen6 ur right,in my opinion the only we u can tell whos better is when nadal reaches 28 years old and see how many titles he won.

  • @shirgen6 Well said dude.. i am huge federer fan and i try to become like him in life and in my profession...But i respect nadal too for his acheivements as well..i also beleive that federer will win more than 20 slams in his career...

  • cant believe federer tanked the 5th. i know its hard losing the 3rd but grow some bulls and deal with it man

  • The match that brought the tears.

  • You can read Rafa's lips exactly at the end, "You, okay", Fed nods, "Sorry." How can it get any classier, I think Rafa knew after this one that it really must have got to Federer (slam finals on 3 different surfaces, Rafa taking them all). Can't blame Fed either about the tears, but I bet you that Rafa almost expected it after this one.

  • feder is simply the greatest of all time .

  • 43 seconds ago God Bless the Greatest Tennis player to have EVER lived=ROGER FEDERER, a genius on the Tennis court who has made shots and plays that no one has ever seen before or will ever repeat. Nadal is just a hard working super athlete who lacks Roger's elegance, finesse and Wizardry around the court, whenever the two meet it feels like Genius vs Brute force, Federer is Obi Wan Kenobi and Nadal is Darth Maul!

  • @Jobinaldo Exaggerate much? There are winners and there are losers. It's a game, a sport, not a damn fashion show. Rafa has plenty of game and weapons and a zeal to continually improve. And that's all that really matters at the end of the day. So quit whining. They're both terrific tennis players. We should all be so lucky we're witnessing them both make history at the same time.

  • @Jobinaldo if nadal is JUST a "hard working super athlete" then why hasn't andy roddick, another very hard working athlete, gotten anywhere close to nadal's achievements??? i'll tell u why. nadal is talented. UBER talented. he's also extremely athletic, competitive, and unbelievably mentally strong. he also has a willingness to improve his game. say what u want about feds, but don't try to lessen the fantastic player that nadal is just b/c he doesn't look like a ballet dancer on court.

  • @ghlover2001 Nadal's footwork is WAY better than Fed's, as is his forehand. I don't see how people overlook these talents. Well, I do know why, they are biased. Rafa will go down as one of the all time greats, maybe the greatest, who knows. To me, he looks like the guy who's dancing on the court. They've shown his footwork (close up with the technology) and let me tell you, it's unreal how quick his feet move and how perfectly they fall into place for his shots.

  • @Jobinaldo I've never seen Roger do anything on court that no other man has ever done, shots-wise. Hell, i pulled the between the leg shot myself in a game with a friend. It didn't go for a winner but it went in the court and he volleyed it. It was my 2nd time ever trying it (practise or in a game). Roger is a great player, but the things he's done, were definitely done before him. He didn't just suddenly re-invent tennis, you know.

  • just watched nadal win the US OPEN now he has all four SLAMS he is even stronger now than when this match was played im a big federer fan and he is still for me the best to watch because he is so graceful but nadal is now well on his way to being the best ever surely after winning 9 slams at 24 there will be another 9 by the time he retires its quite possible he could do the GRAND SLAM next year..

  • see as a federer fan what's so annoying to me is in the 4-4 game in the 3rd he only plays an aggressive point when he's DOWN game point. he had 0-40 and played all those passively. same thing with how he plays sets against rafa. he comes out firing in the 2nd because he lost the first.. know what im getting at, people?

  • @butterflycaught900 im a big federer fan but the writing is on the wall i think nadal will totally dominate the next 2-3 years just cant see federer getting near him he is just too strong on both sides he could win the grand-slam next year fed would never have lost to djokovic like that a couple of years ago hope he could win sw19 one more time thouigh..

  • @substance74 federer needs to win 3 slams at least to keep his record safe. its possible nadal could get to 16 in under 2 years

  • @butterflycaught900 i agree next year he has to win sw19 or aussie or us open no chance in french nadal is just to good...

  • @substance74 he needs to win 2 next year and nadal can't win the other 2 or we're back at square one. remember sampras thought his 14 was pretty safe. im not convinced 16 is future-proof

  • What a great game !! They're both incredible!!

  • 7:41 who is that woman ?

  • @medette

    Thats Mirka, Roger's wife.

  • Nadal n'a jamais été aussi fort sur surface rapide que sur ce match. Ce jour la, c'est peut etre sa plus belle performance; incroyable match; le greatest;

  • 6:10 to 6:32 is just sick!!

  • 4:07 are you kidding me ? how the hell can be that guy yawning :D

  • Some say this was not a close match; are you freaking kidding me? Had Fed won the 3rd set tiebreak he very likely would have taken the title. That being said I give mad props to Nadal for playing some intense tennis. Both players are phenomenal, so please stop shitting all over either one of them. Nadal and Fed bashers need to learn to shut the fuck up and respect these tennis Gods.

  • 6:38 the ball boy is like holy shit i can't watch this no more man..
