That's how he's powered. There's no room for the motor in him with the smoke machine in there, so it's in the van. ;)

He has a van behind him because he is battery powered, the motor in the loco is driven by the batteryss, and the track power is for the smoke unit. the batteries are in the auto-coach now.

Thanks BR, glad you like the vids. It's actually not a new engine. I've just given it a coat of paint and the coach is a VERY old DMU that someone had a go at converting.
