tried this game in 2008 and i didnt like it so mutch. now i came back and i must say wow. they fixed alot. and i would dare to say if they did that from the launch they would be some competition for wow. althought this game is harder then that shitty game in my experience :) wow is like push a button and wait till target dies this is alot nicer :d
@dajeanke Hehe, then you havent played WoW on a high-level my friend. Truth is that the playerbase in World of Warcraft is a lot more experienced in general, compared to Age of Conan. I dont think ive seen ANYONE doing as much theorycrafting as people in World of Warcraft has done the last couple of years, and now every single detail in a with counts. Age of Conan got the "older" MMO-raiding system where you indeed can carry 5 aweful players in a 24 man raid setup.
@dajeanke Continuing: Aswell as you can have players doing mistakes in Age of Conan raiding. Now, i agree that PvP in Age of Conan is taken out of another world if player on Ultra on Dx10. That IS amazing, and none can deny that. All in all, i think this game destroyed itself with its early launch, and lack of interesting content. Also, players coming from WoW might miss the elitism within WoW raiding these days. Now, i know you guys are going to instantly hate this post, but please read it.
Knut Avenstroup Haugen, that lanky quiet fella' who composed and orchestrated this music did a terrific job. May money and bitchez rain down on him.. :)
well, dunno if it could have been much more. yeah, i was slighty disappointed to the promised "revolutionary" combat system and so on, but hey... tell me one game that felt like the Conan world should? AoC is the only one to get even anywhere near.
They probably had to put alot of their time in to graphics to achieve that, and that was out from gameplay. Since it's about Conan world it was a worthy trade. The gameplay is alright nowadays though.
Man shame this game didn't do so well. The character customization was fun, the environments looked great, the fatalities and gameplay was cool, the music is epic, I really enjoyed Cimmeria.
My friends don't play it anymore (they're on wow), I threw away my copy (dumbass move), my computer could barely handle it, and my experience on the PVP server was awful.
although you owe funcom ca. 11 euros for the entire collection of soundtracks per person who listens to them I got to admit im am grateful as i am to sloppy to go to the store:)

A heroic soundtrack, even if the Game could have been so much more, the soundtrack is just unbelieveable!
