bill owen was an accomplished lyric writer. try searching for a song he wrote called "so lucky" (in my life). it was sung by an english comedian called freddie (parrot face) davis. the lyrics are very moving, as a tribute to his wife (i think).
@johnnycomic Thank you for the information. I knew a little about Bill but not much and I had never heard that he was a song writer. He was an amazing comedian.
@malador1952 I think you might be right. I'm working on a script myself, and it may turn out to be short film, but it's set in Oklahoma county. I'm trying my best to do my salute to Roy Clarke, and all the rest who made Last of the Summer Wine a success! I'm trying not copy any way but do it in a manner to give praise to that show.
@chrisredfieldjm Thank you for the comment. We didn't get the current shows on public tv, we were actually several years behind what they were seeing in England. And I didn't even know Bill had died until about a year or so ago. He was great, one of the funniest guys on tv.
@malador1952 Thats how we found it, public tv PBS/OETA. My buddy found it in 01 or 02. I think he was 19 or 20 at the time. He passed on the word to me, and I showed it to my grandma. She has to watch it every evening before she goes to bed. I think shes seen it through three times, if not more. It takes a great show to entertain people from their late teen years to those in their mid 70s. Last of the Summer Wine, Sherolck Holmes, Dr. Who (the newer ones), public tv is getting some things right.
@sandyllb Sandy, you're welcome, glad you enjoyed it. Sorry to be so long to reply but my computer is in pieces at the moment so I don't always get my messages in a timely manner.

@OO7FAN I think you're right. And the show was certainly popular and had a long run--from the very early 70's until 2010 I think.

@malador1952 I think your right. I myself am writing a short film script, and it's a salute to LOTSW long history! But it's no way like LOTSW.

@OO7FAN Well, best of luck to you and your screen play or whatever it turns out to be. Hope it's successful.
