In my opinion, wearing sneakers, especially flashy and high-top sneakers in porno, is culturally relevant. Athletic sneakers are "marketed" to us as a representation, or symbol of culturally revered traits, such as athleticism. In that case, one could argue that it might be projecting an image of "sport f*cking", which is, in its own sense, a "Western" cultural taboo. I also think feet in general often become sexualized symbols that connect various subjective meanings in one's own psychology.
