it seems like a front locker would of helped you crawl up easier the one tire wasnt even spinning that happens to my fj too i want to lock the front i think its 900 for an arb
I owned both a Jeep and FJ, Loved my 86 jeep and my 11 FJ. When I was out before with my Jeep, you found most people who enjoyed 4X4ing had there preferences, but more, thats what you knew, no really disrespect for another, I have pulled out Toyotas and had Toyotas pull me out, ANYONE who goes out 4X4ing knows this and there is a common respect among MOST out there. EVERYBODY gets stuck. I have seen Jeeps built up, there freaking amazing rock climbers, so much fun,
really interesting how you can see that front wheel.. as soon as it get's airborn the other wheel starts wanting to get a grip.. a full locker is hard to replace though Or a really tight posi..still for a stock vehicle a jeep on stock tires would have been pumpkins splattered a mile back. And my best drives a 6 inch lifted wrangler atlas II T Case 35 BGGs ARBs up front and Rear with deaver coils and a 12k winch. I'd still take an FJ to wheel with her.
people compare these to a jeep but all they have in common is 4X4. And this looks stock. How many real stock off road motors do you see doing anything impressive on youtube. Apart from the old Unimog. I think everybody gets stuck every now and then, thats why you do it!
FJ's rock ! RAV4 ? It's built off the same platform as the 4runner, THE PRADO . You idiot . And Hummer wannabe ? Last time I checked the the original FJ was around long before the hummer JackAss! And you jeep guys just feel threatened !
@koobsw damn dude your ignorance shocks me, my bone stock 2010 fj went on every single trail that my buddies 2010 rubicon went and i had street tires where he had mud terrains and of course the front locker he couldnt find a trail that his stock jeep would make it up that mine couldnt and i will follow your jeep any where too
I'd say he was more daring, you live and learn, he was lucky with the aid of others that the side of the truck wasn't smashed in. I have not and would not take my FJ up that, a beat-up trail rig on the other hand I would take up that.
Oh... I keep my friends inside my Jeep when I wheel. It is more fun driving than pushing I think. I have only used Jeeps offroad so I haven't had the opportunity to push yet. Is it fun?
You know what. Nobody should have much pride of their specific brands. To make any of them really off road worthy, you have to make a majority of the vehicle something it origionally was. Lifts, Lockers, winches, engine upgrades. If you wanted to, you could make a GREMLIN a serious off road vehicle that would beat any jeep or fj. Give credit to the people who upgrade them, not the people who made them stock.
Agreed. Not everyone needs to have a godly car. I drive a 91 GMC suburban 2500, with the stock lift from the heavier suspension. I have just as much fun with that, maybe more so because I can take seven more people along for the ride. There is a nich for anyone and everyone. Do what you love, and more so, what you can afford. Having fun is all that counts, not impressing people on YouTube. Common sense I must say.
getting stuck is part of wheeling, proof is this dude in his retro-style rav4. wtf do you know 'bout grand cherokees anyway? mine keeps up with 4runners and tjs allday long.
It is pure ignorance to make a generalized derogatory statement. Offroading is all about the specific rig, environment, and most importantly the operator.
If he had actually aired down the tires before he went off road he wouldn't have had as much of a traction problem. Front locker would have been nice too...
Ouch, why didn't he just cut hard to the left and back it down for another attempt instead of smashing the side all up? The FJ definitely needs better tires to keep from slipping like that.
Hey anyone know what type of front bumper that is.?

It seems like jeep owners think that Jeeps are better than Toyota and Land Rover. I think they can't afford them.

Well the FJ doesnt have a live axle, which is why I dont like them.

Yes jeep owners can't afford Toyota Fj Crusier for 20 grand but can afford a 40 grand Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Talk about owned.... Go go kid, go worry about your Miles per gallon and leave the real offroading to us, The Fj is another Hummer wanna be.
n64decent 3 years ago
yeah because there are so many grand cherokees on the trail. Those things would get fucking stuck. They don't even have lockers.

I would have hooked the winch up, to help in preventing the truck from getting body damage! I wheel an '07 JK and I am not ready for body damage!
