Not as good a game as it's immediate predecessor (Gateway). The plot isn't nearly as interesting, and it meanders a great deal. The pacing really suffers as a consequence. Also, the sound effects for hits and misses are too similar. Plus, the ending is tacked-on, and in my experience the final battle is unwinnable. Reinforcements make an interesting addition to the gameplay, however.
