I've seen Van Halen multiple times and have been a fan since the mid-eighties. You're right, Alex's command of the drums has a great deal to do with the overall Van Halen sound too. I've enjoyed all of the faces of Van Halen and differ from most in saying that I believe they were right in trying out some different singers etc. Van Halen is much bigger than one or two people, but if they ever take Eddie or Alex out it would never work. I used to wake up to this as an alarm clock!
