Clapton's ghost written autobiography wrongly states that the Yardbirds told him that if he wanted to leave they would not stand in his way. That is total B.S. Eric left almost right after "For Your Love" and he recommended Jimmy Page to the group. Of course Page was not ready to join a group and recommended Jeff Beck.
Is this the original version? I got another version of this on CD, its got the exact same backing, but the lead is a bit different, with more overdrive and with some other licks.
lol it realy shows how some people appreciate the best the least i realy hope your not a guitar player because if you are you have to learn alot about the least
State your case. I thought Clapton did a very nice job of using the notes and was often his playing was subtle and smooth. I hear a bit of Albert and Freddie King, and obviously Buddy Guy's Fender tone has influenced Clapton. Clapton's own style, though, is his meshing of these styles and his own ideas, of course, added in.
Perhaps the subtle aspect of the song is voer your head. His bends are so smooth, his playing has so much finesse, can't argue that...
im with crunchyapple111 and guran94. the lead is different than that on five live.

Yes. I agree, this version has less reverb and overdrive, you are correct. The version I remember screams a bit more.
