  • Hello Anthony. Like your vidieos. Thanks for making them available. I continue to learn a lot from them. One little thing. At around 0:54 you say to pull on the lady's hand or hip to get them to turn. At 0:07, when you actually do the turn while dancing, you have already started her rotation before you connect with the hand behind the back, which I think is a better way to lead the turn. It is safer, faster and easier. Thanks again for all your salsa instruction.

  • there are 40 people either slowheaded or stupid !

  • I'm a north american but lived in Lima for a few years in the late eighties. I really enjoyed salsa music but have one track in mind that I have been unable to find. I believe it was Oscar DeLeon, but not sure. Does anyone know who did the track used in this video series? Sounds much the same as the track I'm looking for.

  • caramello

  • I need to download this videos! i'll donate a view!

  • me gusta ver estos videos porque he aprendido algunos pasos, ya que enseñan muy bien. saludos

  • Just discovered Salsa, you guys are an inspiration, to be that good .............

  • I love this turn pattern!

  • I love dancing like this i cant find a dancing partner though :( grrrr i wish

  • WTF,

  • Que bien por las clases, me encanta la salsa!! Cuando voy a cantar, me toca cantar mucha salsa y me fascina!! Creo que de los géneros bailables que interpreto, es uno de los mejores. Tiene mucho sabor, me identifico con este género.

  • Good work on those podcasts!

  • veryy good lessons

  • Whats the name of that song?????????

  • These people are not counting the half step and If you are not counting the half step or 4 to 8, this is not salsa. This is the first guy/girl that gets it all wrong. You're misleading the salsa people. and doing away with la clave. Un Boriqua, salsero. Eddie

  • are you serious....remeber its to always make and persent the women with class....

  • Anthony, i see it's hard to keep the rithm huh? Did you watch it yourself?

  • @DonDawo he kept the rhythm fine. check yourself.

  • I love these instructions. You do such a good job! i learned to dance salsa completely from these videos.

  • thanks this was cool i learned alot

  • Wow, it has been 5 years - I can't believe I ever danced like this. :-p

  • @apersaud Dude.. I feel the same way after Five Months! But I've been getting back on track with it, and a lot of other things. Stay Cool, Dude

  • @apersaud YOU ARE AWESOME

  • @apersaud why, what's wrong with that?

  • @apersaud I took salsa lessons in the states and they taught a very methodical, very close person to person kind of salsa. I went to South America and nobody dances like that. I feel like I wasted all that time learning what I think is "mexican salsa". I don't particularly like dancing, but it's impossible to date women in S. America without it. Any recomendations for "South American salsa?"

  • @FreeBlago1 OBVIOUS TROLL, mexican salsa!!!!!! Ajajajaja

  • @apersaud

dude, if i ever get even close to this i'll be sorted haha

  • @apersaud I just started watching some of your videos tonight? What do you mean you can't believe you ever danced like this? Is this bad? Has your style changed? Did you get bad? lol

  • @apersaud yes, all of us were dreadful at the beginning of our dancing story.

  • @apersaud Why, what's wrong with it? :)

  • @apersaud are you saying that this is bad and we shouldn't be following this?

  • @apersaud can u write what song is that so i can check online ..pls Thnx for the lessons!

  • q cancion es men??

  • @lskancitol Mataron al negro benbon de Cortijo y su combo

  • wat song is this?

  • @munstertwinjwatzsin mataron al negro benbon de Cortijo y su combo

  • Thanks guys +D

  • i like cha cha cha part!

  • you guys SUCK!!! if you want to see GOOD salsa dancers, look for Salsa from Colombia.

  • @jhonmunoz1 how rude!

  • @goldenthoth

i'm sorry, i didn't mean to be rude. i won't make that kind of comments anymore.

  • @jhonmunoz1 LOL LOL LOL pussy

  • @jhonmunoz1 thanks you. the world could use more respect these days, and i mean every1.

  • @jhonmunoz1 Don't be so ignorant! There are AMAZING dancers that would make your jaw drop in NY and LA, and in Tokyo and Egypt even. Maybe of you looked further than your own nose and actually checked them out you'd be surprised. Yep Colombia has amazing dancer but so does the rest of the World. Check out "Oliver PIneda" or "Milton Cobo" videos and you'll see what I mean.

  • A very helpful video ;-)

  • Antony and Melanie you guys look great. I cant believe you guys are "Salsa" stars now.. ( I used to dance in the same circles in DM and even competed, those were the days) thank you for injecting cultural lessons to this you tube world. (Luis)

  • @indigopickles

    que?

  • Such a helpful video! Thank you for taking the time to break things down from multiple angles and repeat. My husband and I are beginners, but working through this slowly we've learned to pull it off and look great!

We were not overly confused at all by the "cha cha" beat or the turn at the end; obviously we're getting the idea of what to do and working out what fits the beat for the songs we're using. Thanks! We look forward to checking out more of your videos. :)

  • Thank you so much for the time and effort you have put into teaching salsa dancing and for daring the more complicated routines! I am attending college in a small town where there is no place to salsa dance within 3 hours - but thanks to your videos I have been able to continue learning and developing my own style, while my boyfriend has just started to learn and is doing so quickly thanks to your videos! Bravo, and thank you!

  • you two are amazing-these videos are PERFECT!!!

  • they are great I have started to dances salsa for about two months , and they are great i have become a better dancer and I take classes in two school, beginner, and intermediate at the other school. the video have help me with my salsa steps, thank you for taking the time to post these video thankyou SERGIO/NYC

  • very very very nice!

    love it!

  • good song Negro bebon. But I think they over compilacted. when I dance salsa I want to have a good time not do a good job. I guess I have other ideas about how salsa dancing should taught....

  • they're doing it for free dude ... with the occasional donation. make a video if you're confident you can do it!!

  • como sellama la rola compadre....TKS

  • muy bueno!

  • I just discovered your fabolus videos...You made my day buddy...!!! Thanks a lot for this!!!

  • Excellent amigo, Thanks

  • To boricuachula2 :

That was a really ignorant comment! This is the best instruction series I've encountered and I'm a professional dancer and teacher in NYC. You are not watching a competition, you are watching a training session and "ethnicity" has nothing to do with the teaching.

  • You're ignorant! No one is criticising the instruction! Lets not make this a racial discussion...I will not comment on your ethnic statement! I have an opinion, and I stated it! If you don't like it, don't read it! Obviously you're not Latin...so you wouldn't understand that basis of my comment!

  • Thank you so much for putting this up! Been looking for something exactly like this!

  • Possibly- however if it wasn't for Julie the addicted2salsa video series would not have come back to life. Our last host decided to pursue other options and we had to stop our shows. We love people that share the same mission and values of helping others, like yourself, to learn salsa dancing. Julie is one of the most passionate and talented people we have on our team for helping proliferate salsa music, dancing and culture to make it accessible and truly universal.

  • Listen, you're doing a wonderful job! You are a great instructor! Please don't take any offense to my comment. Just thought I could state an honest opinion...that's all! Keep doing what you're doing!

  • boricuachula2,

This is the first addicted2salsa video I have seen.

I'm no professional but I have been dancing LA style salsa on and off for the best part of a decade now and the lady here is very stylish and professional in my view. I'd be fine to have her as my teacher.

  • Latin "spunk" = bs

anyone can dance salsa as good as latins, they can get their spunk too or whatever.

    I'm latin btw

  • this is awsomeeee thank u

  • cuantos años es que toca practicar esa vaina, oye!

  • name of the song ?

  • Amazing, will definitely try this routine with my partner this weekend, many thanks!

  • very good. Thank you

  • great instructions.. thanks

  • these are good instructions, thank you!

  • very easy to follow, n very catchy song! what's the title anyone knows?

  • El Negro Bembon

There are several versions available of this song but I am unsure who recorded this particular one

  • oh okay do u know the title of song at least? nevermind the versions

  • 'el negro bembon' that is the title! Original version by Celia Cruz and there is a good one by Ismael Riviera but I believe this one is by el hijos de ?

  • Ismael Rivera, from Puerto Rico

  • You are very ungrateful, this is in a relax atmosphere so one can learn. Let him teach and dont judge a book by its cover!

  • very nice instructions

  • great :)

  • good salsa. I already know the basic step, basic turns. I want to advance more. I need a partner in NJ for pratice. im 23M. I dont want to embarras in the club.

  • he dances better with her than with the blond. she aint knw what she was doing

  • If I was so egotistical I will just post a critic, not an advise. Professionals should dress like a professional, This teacher is a professional and should dress like it, she does. Hard to understand for you maybe.

  • you egotistical snobs who are criticizing these two people. first of all, mr flight instr. Im an instr. Its flying ability that impresses, not your jeans. The rest of you idiots w ur stupid ego comments. These are LESSONS. Not competition crap. He easily shows his hands with the count...a good teacher does that. They show the foot work, then the upper body, they show it together from different angles. Good demonstration, easy video to follow. Good instr's. thanks for your video and help

  • chamo te estais tirando unos buenos culos...felicitaciones....

  • reaaly its very good... before that i didnt know really nothingggg jeje thanks

  • Horribleeeee!

  • he sucks she dances all right she does have potential, you man...NEVER DO THAT AGAIN hahahahaha

  • He sucks? You have got to be kidding... He is very formal, stylish and most of all, classy and smooth. I've been watching salsa all over the world, live in Miami and let me tell you, 99% of all dancers I have seen cant touch this guy. She is excellent as well. If you dont like the way he dances, you simply dont like salsa. That's is my opinion (and I'm sure 99% of others would agree... you are teh 1%... what we call in statistics, an outlier).

    ; )

  • @astrogirlkilledflash hey take it easy - that was years ago - Anthony is a fantastic dancer these days - excellent technique and styling. We all improve over time!

  • ive seen better...

  • What is it called when you do not dance as a couple, but one and one...?

  • Cumbia

  • I think it's called shines

  • Comment removed

  • So if they do one or two spins that cancels all Salsa they are dancing? Woa, that is so intelligent. I spin on Salsa. You have to have an innovative mind. Not so close minded, man.

  • That is not salsa

    We call that spinning

  • Oh yes you're right, salsa includes absolutely no spinning... ever

Jesus christ, I see people dancing salsa on merengue, but they're having fun, so I just let them do. Having fun is what salsa is about, If you knew salsa, you'd know that too :)

  • tiene que ser colombiano cierto?? thats why its called LA style salsa, its a different kind of salsa where spinning is huge part of LA style, don't be so narrow minded...

  • Thank goodness, some good instruction, and using correct terms... ty guys... im glad I saw this video.

  • You are glad

    That is not salsa

    That is spinning

  • You mean Salsa doesn't involve spinning?

  • There is a difference in dancing on cue or with the beat....of course you need to spin on salsa, but you have to do it on beat.....this guy is just turning with absolutely no timing...I grew up dancing at the Copa in New York ...I know a bit about dancing....

  • they're not out to teach beat or cue, just a couple of spins in a very simple and effective way. If they're gonna add cue and beat, and flow and tempo and note, and timing, man what amateur is gonna learn on the first lesson. Sorry no room in this lesson for Copa Cabanay Newyorican vanity here.

  • Dear Karlito

I teach salsa and the first things we teach is steps and tempo....before we go into any turns....a student needs to know at what beat to start and at what beat to keep the tempo. but like you say ,....the most important part is to enjoy the dance....I'll still say that the lead on this couple does not dance to the beat...

  • it's the first time im watching salsa and i get what u mean!!!! i'ts obvious.

  • That's truly amazing! online dance school, look here: dance.xfollow.me (Copy to your browser's address bar)

  • nice tips...thanks

  • very nice
