Oh LOL we had this problem a while ago. Yeh it is a real bummer of a problem (as Dave would tell ya).

It's because of an unsuccessful uninstall of the game previously, or manual uninstall attempts. Because of this, parts of the game are lying around the PC (data files etc) and the new install is detecting them, thinking you've already got the game installed.

What I suggest is use the SEARCH feature of the computer (file/folder search). Enter keyword(s) like rome and delete files found.

I have rome total war gold. I can't use the ~ button to bring up the cheat screen. I have beaten the game withough cheats I just want to use the money cheat to take over the whole map. When ever I push the ~ nothing happens and there is no place to enter the cheat. Any help on this would be great.

I have tried that already. It works just fine with Medieval total war 2. THe ~ does not work for rome I have every fucking button I can think off lol. Maybe its because I'm running vista?

I think it is vista. There are alot of people who can't open romeshell with the ~ and they all run vista.

***IMPORTANT***

For those of you who dont know, when u play S.P.Q.R faction, don't click on your faction's icon (where you can see your financial report etc.) because it bugs the single player mode and you have to delete all components of Rome Total War and reinstall it.

I decided instead of trying to waste my time trying to figure out how to unlock all the factions on vista. I went ahead and got the SPQR total war mod. I highly recommend it!

I have a problem.

I am using US version of vista, game is installed correctly,

but when I make the changes like you do in the video to

play the factions, it tells me to make sure the path is correct and won't let me save over the existing file.

Do anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

Oh LOL. If you're sure the game installed properly then it must be down to the OS (Vista). I take it you've re-installed the game yeah?

If so...you could try to re-install Vista although it may not fix the problem. Sadly the best solution would be to A) play on another PC with XP or B) Get the XP operating system

Always have a look on the official website or contact them (Creative Assembly) to see if anyone else has that problem mate.

Yes it is on the main C drive.

So do you mean that I can't edit factions on vista? (curses)

Alos (teehee), if I try to save over the original file it wont let because it loops the message over again that asks if the path is correct.

Yeah I rekon a 3D accelerator card would come in use for battles of today's standards (2002+).

Firstly, what computer have you got? XP - Vista etc. And what graphics/video card do you have. I take it the installation was successful (i.e. no error messages during install)?

and ye the installation was great i had no errors but for now i don't have a 3d accelerator card i was just asking if i needed one

I would imagine so yeah. Most cards have basic 3D accelerators in nowdays. Do you know your card details like memroy (MB) etc?

Oh yeah. David also had this problem with a laptop cause it was low spec card. Battles had to be set to 'auto resolve'. A different PC or new graphics card would fix the issue. Check out PC World, Amazon or Aria etc for new cards

Alexander is an expansion originally avaliable for download. However it is now on a CD-ROM in selected retailers (try amazon).

Shogun is old and this copy came with the Eras BoxSet. If you want a single version of Shogun then Shogun Gold should be on Amazon.
