While there is so much good music out there (check Brian Slawson out sometime) it concerns me we are reduced to teaching students songs from video games. That being said, it was an incredible arrangement and an even more incredible performance.
I agree.. While it definitely makes me uncomfortable to see ensembles such as this performing video game music instead of the more traditional music, I believe we have to realize that as video games become more popular and more mainstream, we'll see a shift more towards that kind of music playing than the older styles. And it was a very well written arrangement and an awesome performance... So kudos to them, regardless.
Omg its so epically AWESOME! Shiiit simply amazing man! GOOD JOB SRSLY! And I rly liked the song where everyone started clapping. Its like around 3:00. Whats the song called?? Does anybody know?
orale que buen ensamble hacen los felicito, soy de mèxico y soy percusionista , bueno estudio para ello, quisiera pedirles un gran favor, me pasan las partituras ?
Go to Vic Firth's Website Gary Burton (who Burton grip is named for) teaches the key technical points of the grip and what to focus on. About the best thing to an instructor that knows something to teach you. If there is a Drum Corp Near you Go to auditions and learn as much as you can. Work with a pad and drum sticks as much as possible. All percussion is related once you learn key principles. Good luck
i wish at least one person knew how to play double mallets. how does one learn anyway? through internet? are there such things as mallet private lessons?
what the?! of course there are lessons to teach you how to play percussion! It's simple anyway; hold one in between your swearing fingers and the other one with the remaining fingers and thumb. Well there are lots of different ways of holding them but theats the one I was taught. But just Google percussion lessons and you'll get loads of results.
When she got the audience clapping along, I wanted to jump up and clap too.XD

Lol, that's because most of the Rollins PE audience are musicians or local percussionists. The rest have good rhythm or they just don't clap!

Do you know Beth Gottlieb? Obviously not. How about her husband, Danny Gottlieb. Try doing a search on them. Then go run away.
