centrino isn't a processor, it's a platform (processor, wireless, and graphics). If you mean the ULV processor vs standard then yes, there is a consider performance difference but also a difference in battery life.
Does this laptop have any fans on the underneath? I currently have a dell and want to get a better laptop. My current laptop has the fans underneath the computer and I find this completely useless. I am trying to decide between this and the Qosmio: X500. I suppose it all comes down to personal preference, and possibly funds, as the x500 is $500 less.
