  • wonder how many knees you have destroyed :P ?

  • 1:42 that was fucking hilarious :D

  • Leg locks work! Go see Masakazu Imanari :)

  • Now this is just ridiculous. Truly awesome skill! Inspiring to watch.

  • reillyfornow vs. Volk Han, Rd.1... Fight!!

  • 1:42 is brilliant

  • Sick!

  • The only thing is that you can't do heel hocks in most grappling tournaments

  • @rangedat tell that to rousimar..

  • I love using leg locks when sparring at my Krav Maga gym, but I find that putting pressure on the ankle can lead to accidental injury very fast, so I seldom use them unless I'm on my back being attacked by a standing target, and really have no other choice. Do you have any tips for quickly applying enough pressure to make an opponent tap without doing any real damage? I occasionally use them now, but sometimes I'm so gradual in pressure application that they have time to escape or reverse it.

  • @DasGrammarNazi i'm not mr. bodycomb but leg locks are deadly. when your opponent starts feeling the pain even a little more pressure can cause injury so i say u work on secureing the position for the lock so u can apply the gradual pressure or don't use them lol

  • ratatat!!!!!

  • Nice skills you got there mister, lovely techniques. However I still think going for the legs every time is a bit lame.

  • at 0:33 why did he tap?

  • if you noticed at 0:33 look at the main guys feet you put pressure like a leg lock with your feet you straighten his out with you feet its not a high percentage move though

  • Trying some of that with my brother later shit's sick

  • Great skills!!! Leg locks from all different angles!

  • nick diaz sent me here

  • you are good, even nick diaz favorited your vid.

    Btw you got "Imanari" skills

  • 1:45 he thought "such a fool" and move her head

  • Man, insane skills! Beatiful looking and wonderfully executed leg locks, especially in the live matches! Brilliant!

I have one question to add: Could you tell me the name of the leg lock from 0:20 to 0:25? 'd be greatly appriciated! :)

  • @Anubisspeicial the submission is a heel hook. the entrance is called an 'inverted shot'. if you search youtube for 'inverted shot' you will get an instructional.

  • Very good techniques and you prove they work by using them in competition! I love leglocks!

  • do you guys know where i can learn sambo in los angeles california? beacuse iv been looking everywhere online and still no luck

  • all the guys he was competeing with just looked like they were confused as to what was happening to their leg lol

  • Your leglocks are great. Too risky against good grapple rs tho.In Brazil they'll get you choked out, ...or can also catch a lot of guys by surprise .

I love the knee bar set ups.

What part of NY is this Academy in?

  • do you have a school?????????????????

  • GREAT!!!

  • I liked the part where he tapped out=)

  • Where can i get a copy of your volume 1&2 videos? I can't find any available

  • The martial arts should be there to serve you as a fighter. You shouldn't be there as a fighter to serve the martial art. If martial arts just never existed, people would still fight and just as there are different martial arts with their own techniques and philosophies, there are different fighters with their own ways of fighting. Even martial artists of the same style and belt levels have their own way of using the techniques. It's up to you to choose which techniques you will absorb.

  • looks like a combination of jiu-jitsu with judo

  • Any idea when budovideos will finally get more of copies of this DVD. I definitely need to get me a copy. Oh and the song is definitely going on my workout playlist.

  • love the song ratatat the shit. gonna use this shit asap in training

  • :O

  • the dreaded heel hook :( my knee hurts so bad because the guy i was with when rolling didn't see or feel me tap :'(

  • leg lock master. great control giving people chance to tap

  • terrific video.

  • @ 1:42 "From this moment forward, you may call yourself my bitch"

  • And the dude in 1:42 should just retire from competition, period.

  • Fucking amazing!! Thats all i´ve got to say. Over here in Ecuador sambo instructors are harder to come by than a 30 year old virgin girl. Haven´t found one yet. (the instructor or the virgin)

  • fucking WoW!!!!! jedy master of leg lock

  • 1:46 was greatttttt

  • Reilly,

    1. Your techniques in this video are insane.

    2. Gotta ask; that blue shirt with the white stripes that you wear in some of the clips - what is it? Looks like it has the ASA logo on it in one shot but I'm not sure.

  • @ErikPaulsonFan i had that shirt made.=)

  • @reillyfornow That's cool. That one and the SAMBO GROUND FIGHTING one were nicely done. Come back to NY!

  • dude i thought JEESUS was dead fucking great video leg locks are the future theres no sambo gyms where i am from only bjj, after watching this dvd i want to learn sambo pure 100% TALENT

  • This video is so rad. I liked that you showed it used in competition. amazing rolls

  • Amazing!!!

  • Amazing!!!

  • leg locks are so beautiful especially when someone as experienced as this guy or Gokor does them. just unbelievable technique, almost effortless.

  • I think Sambo is superior to Bjj when it comes to leg locks, the isolation seems better often using a triangle rather than a pinch of the knees and turning the opponent onto his side to stop them from standing out of it or simply peeling the legs off.

  • 4 morons who disliked this...

  • erm.. dana?

  • 1:42 I LOVE IT

  • Awesome vid!!!

  • dude your awesome!!! this is why I Love leg locks!!!

  • Some seriously slick leglocks there.

  • WOW. I have no words.

  • Please, don't play with those stupid shoes. Please.

  • seen it like a dozen times effin sick movez respekt, the scissor takedown looks so smooth .. if i would live in ny i'd like to train @ your dojo the music is great as well

  • im really liking that move at 1:47 could you go into a little detail on how u do it, trying to figure it out from watching the video

  • @Str4ffe2x

This isn't Reilly, but if you're not training at a school where you already know exactly what that is, you don't need to fool around with it at all. That leglock is will cripple people if you don't know how it operates. This being the internet and all, I'm sure someone will disregard this. If you do, do not wait for pain before you tap. It won't' come until ligaments tear.

  • @JinsukeHP I been training in jiu jitsu for 5 years, if you think there is no pain before the ligament tears, you do not know what you are talking about.

  • @Str4ffe2x Cool. I've been doing Sambo for four now. Twisting kneelocks are not like armbars. They do not hurt before ligament damage is done. There's a reason your competitions ban them for everyone below brown belt.

  • @JinsukeHP Are you kidding so you are saying that when people are put in foot locks and knee bars, they dont tap because of pain? If thats what your implying lol@u

  • @Str4ffe2x Footlocks and kneebars are not twisting kneelocks. Sensible people tap when they feel pressure anyway, but if you're just going to talk trash when someone mentions something outside your style's realm of expertise, just have someone heel hook you and tap when it hurts. Not when you feel pressure, but when you feel pain. You'll see what I mean.

  • @JinsukeHP You are such an idiot first of all any submission, ankle lock, keenbar, heel hook, toe holds, etc are all apart of bjj as well as they are in sambo. If you think the kids in this video that he is tapping out are tapping because of "pressure" instead of pain you have no clue what you are talking about. After reading your ridiculous statements I can clearly see you do not know what you are talking about, your videos as well prove my point that you are garbage. Have a nice day ;)

  • @Str4ffe2x Better yet, make sure it's an inside heel hook, like the one in the video.

  • @JinsukeHP You're right, leg locks are illegal at a lot of tournaments and some coaches even frown upon them. They are great but you have to be careful, your achilles can snap with a small amount of force and hyper-extending the knee joint can really fuck somebody up.

  • @_@ leg locks look so complicated to me to pull off...

  • I particularly like the dangling offer of the single leg into the kamikazee roll. Very nice!

  • guauuuuuuuuuuuuuuu¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • im gonna be honest bud, Im studying every ONE of your leg lock entries for my own personal use. You have a serious 50/50 and anaconda guard on you and I LOVE your single leg takedown spinning roll man, props all around to you and your students.

  • Leg Lock Compliation

  • lol @ 1:43

  • Does Fedor know this stuff? Why he never uses them in a fight?

Movements like that could work well against Overeem in their upcoming battle presuming Werdum has nothing to say about it.

  • @gespilk Pretty sure he's seen it. Fedor's sambo looks more judo influenced rather than nuts nogi witchcraft like Reilly's stuff seems to be. Never met either of them though, so just an outsider's perspective.

  • @gespilk because most of these moves are very dangerous to execute in a mma fight

  • luv sambo :D

    KEEP em cominnnnnng

  • Awesome video Reilly ! Thanks for sharing

  • Heel Hook Mafia......

  • Bayman

  • i really like this video but where can i get sambo tutorials

  • whats that kind of take down called where you basically reverse mount on leg by jumping onto it then tripping them?

  • Jumping Upside down guard?

  • what time in the video?

  • @boorens18 thats a flying scissor my man, good stuff

  • its like watching a python wrap around something and break it.

  • so sick

  • all the people saying "omg look hes tapping out BJJ practitioners" you just make yourself look stupid. Of course BJJ people will get tapped out. Its not like the second you study BJJ you are untapable against any other style. Thats ridiculous. Sambo is great, BJJ is too. All grappling arts can improve you. Both styles really use much of the same basic maneuvers though so trying to argue one is better just makes you look dumb.

  • agreed. i would LOVE to find a sambo class to improve my ground game. leg locks rule. =]

  • it doesn't HAVE to be sambo... some people are just naturally good at leglocks. Palhares is the best in the world and he's a BJJ practitioner.

  • i take bjj. im just sayin i would love to learn some sambo.

  • yeah, that'd be sick... catch wrestling has some nice leglocks too.

  • 100% agreed...ALL grappling techniques will help your submission grappling game. BJJ, Sambo, Wrestling, Catch Wrestling etc.

  • god damn, I watch this vid and still amazed at the skill level of this guy. Respect.

  • Good stuff!

  • wow. at 1:48, sweet.

  • ele é mt bom pow..

  • kid has got a sick leg lock game

  • good figthing ... is this always same guy... witch win ???

  • They look too fancy for me too, don't get me wrong but this techniques ain't simple at all and will require mastery and even then I don't know if in like a cage fight or on the street it would prove its worth..

  • have you not watched the video. He's fighting other bjj practitioners who are trying not to get caught in a lock. He's competing. Now, for sake of the argument, let's put a guy like you or any other guy from the street and a bjj practitioner in a street fight. Take a look at the facts buddie, watch the video again. Jesus. R u blind?

  • Haha did you even read my comment? I didn't say it wasn't effective just that it weren't easy/simple techniques, and I never said I was a street fighter maybe I am training in BJJ? You don't even know so stop posting bulllshit comments on youtube ffs.

  • @Marsiano12 I' m quoting you "I don't know if in like a cage fight or on the street it would prove its worth" This tells every1 who reads it that you think these techniques may not be effective or may not be be worth in a cage/street fight when the video, clearly shows you that even BJJ/martial arts practitioners get tapped out.

  • Ok when people say; 'I don't know' they usually mean they really don't know, not; It sucks! Get it? And in the video I didn't saw a grappling match against people who clearly where BJJ/MMA practionars, but Uke's if you even know what that is..

  • my comment got delete, god damn, ur an idiot. Don't explain the "I don't know" part u moron, explain your point, not the 3 words. here's your quote again "I don't know if in like a cage fight or on the street it would prove its worth" you stupid fuck, it's not worth what? worth trying? worth doing?u don't believe these moves would work in a real fight? this is where you explain ur point. My point now is, you're just an idiot "if you even know what that is.. "

  • Actually, I think that knowing Sambo is almost like having a secret weapon if you're going into professional MMA, because most BJJ practitioners, do not focus as much on leglocks, so a good Sambo fighter, will more than likely be able to defeat most BJJ leglock defense, especially if they're caught fast or off-guard. Of course you don't want that to be your only weapon either, but knowing sambo will definitely give you a distinct advantage if you ask me.

  • @Marsiano12

Ask Ken Shamrock or Bas Rutten if they think different leg submissions are effective.

  • @Marsiano12 its already proved itself in the cage 100 times. fedors one of the best at it actually. even tho i dont really like him. but once u leanr something it doesnt become fancy it becomes basic. alot of these locks start the same so u'll be practicing the motions alot so it will become second hand.

  • @vespaman101

    You've got a point

  • @Marsiano12 That's the beauty of leg locks, they are lick knots, they look really complicated and advanced, with some leg locks you can't even tell whose leg is where and who is applying the lock, but when you try and learn them, they are very easy to apply and simple.

A tightly secured leg lock feels fantastic!

  • @Marsiano12

    Masakazu Imanari

  • @Marsiano12

prove its worth? I know your comments a year old but you must be new to grappling. Yes these techniques require allot of practice, but no more practice then say applying jiu jitsu triangle or a go go plata. Leg locks are damn effective, especially the inverted heel hook, that move is baned in allot of mma promotions for the hell it wrecks on a person`s ACL.

as for street fighting, you should never go to the ground in any case. Id look more into krav maga for that stuff.

  • @Marsiano12 Something about the prospect of hitting a rolling heelhook on a mugger makes this all worth it. That'd teach him to mug people....he'd be crippled. There's a reason the Russians used a version of this shit on the battlefield.

  • @Marsiano12 no disrespect but ask fedor's opponents that he submitted if it was affective or not...but thats besides the point there is a lot of techniques you can take from sambo and bring to an MMA fight... if you look at any martial arts and compare one to an MMA fight the single closest martial art to MMA is probably Combat Sambo

  • i like leg locks alot i trained with gokor and gene lebell use plenty of these all bjj guys are aware. great fiishes bjj dont like these

  • They look too fancy, I have never seen a Sambo guy win the ADCC.

  • @00mrmonster huh? Maybe you've seen a bjj guy who won the sambo world champ?

  • Anyone knows the source of the begining of the track? Is it from a movie?

  • i love how he shakes his head at 1:46 cuz he felt for it lol!!

  • Dude the one at 1:44 was sick!

  • Mr. Bodycomb, what's the name of this song?

(not to take away from the sick moves in this video)

  • 17 years by Ratatat

  • Thank you.

Mr. Bodycomb, would you say that training at NYCS would train you for street self-defense more or for sport competition more? I only ask because I'm looking for street self defense, and I'm tired of going to places that focus mostly on winning points or getting trophies.

  • For me, defense doesn't need too many skills, focusing your spirit and don't show fear is important. Hitting human body's weak parts (fight dirty) is the basic idea in self defense.

  • I cant believe you can train with with this guy in NY for 200 bucks a year. While I pay almost 150 a month to train BJJ in Detroit.

  • what?

  • whoa! You better be training with one of the best in the world.

  • im, sorry but where did you hear you can train at our club for $200 a year. im afraid thats not true. haha

  • @reillyfornow What? In Brazil we pay at most $25 per month!!!!! We have a gyn in each neighborhood

  • 1:42 ... wow hook line and sinker very nice submission

  • This is amazing, I love leg locks but you dont see to much of it in videos. Great music too.

  • they look practical but they seem so flashy.

  • my first love is always gonna b collegiate wrestling & bjj... the combo has taken me far...

but sambo's leg work is an element in the submission game that MUST be accounted for if you plan on having a career in MMA in the near future

with that said... great post... i'll b keeping an eye out 4 u guys

  • How the fuck do you beat these guys? They're awesome.

  • I have seen a lot of people demo these type of fancy leg locks from every angle but then when they roll they can't pull any of them off.

But... big props to these guys, they pull them off in competitions. Very impressive!

  • like who?

  • I have done bjj for years, watched & refereed bjj, gi & no gi tournaments. Also, I have refereed mma for years.

Not saying these types of leg locks dont work, these guys have proved they can but... I just have seen a lot of people try these type of leg locks and fail over the years.

    Again, props to these guy!

  • true i was just wondering if you've seen anyone famous do it lol then again, you see simple locks like the kimura fail daily too. all boils down to timing.

  • The song is called Seventeen Years by Ratatat. It can be found here on Youtube.

  • thx!

  • anyone knows where to get that song?

  • 1st class mate

  • awsome vid pal!!

  • great techniques!! keep training like that dudes!

  • Reilly is the best unless....

  • Dam who ever that is your a BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!

  • esta de putamadre ahora ya podré pegarle a mi hermano mayor...jejejejeje

  • Heh. I broke my opponents foot yesterday with a heel hook because he ducked me in April. It's his own fault, too. He didn't tap.

  • Im not sure I believe you would break someones foot with a heel hook. Normally heel hooks dont destroy the foot but rather the knee blows out or occasionally a spiral fracture of the shin if the knee is particularly strong.

    Never heard of feet breaking.

On that basis I call shenanigans.

  • His ankle POPPED and it was audible!

  • well then it was an ankle lock and not a heel hook. heel hooks attack the knee joint.

  • I did the second technique in this video

  • generally speaking you're right, but....the truth is whatever part is the weakest link in the chain is the one thats going to break/dislocate.

  • amazing. you are now my leg lock instructor. thank you.

  • WOW. thats all i really have to say

not only is this pretty badass but you use ALOT of restraint in competition. your not just cranking the shit out of the leglocks

    KUDO's SIR'S. KUDO'S

  • thank you. =)

  • ive been doing leglocks with mma and sambo for about 2 years now. probably the most effective submissions in all of grappling. most people dont train leg locks, or even know many.

get a ton of taps at gi-less tournaments with them

  • awesome stuff. Hopefully I can train with you one day and learn some of those sick leg locks to add to my game...... Sweet.

  • 1:43 was real life trolling in its purest form :D

  • 1:43 lol worst single leg takedown attempt in history

  • Except for it wasn't a single leg takedown. he fucking handed him he leg, he baited him into grabbing onto his leg, there was no takedown attempt, the was him holding a foot, then him getting submitted. These guys obviously live and breath technique

  • Yea I know....that was the joke lol

  • Oh, lol. sorry haha
