I've seen a lot of politicians who take to a certain belief that is often uneducated and stick to it even if they're faced with very valid points as an argument to their beliefs. I'm not saying he's perfect, nor that he has a completely open mind - I don't think anyone does. It is worth trying to understand him, even if he challenges your beliefs - but dismissing him entirely /is/ a bit close-minded.
