@shawnheather323i i cant argue with that, but younger, less experienced drivers want a "go fast car", in most cases its a cheap, old bmw, (or if parents have $ a new beemer). In any case they all drive like loonys and eventually wind up in a ditch or crashing into other cars. (statistics show that more than 50% of car incidents in my country include bmw cars)

I live in Canada and my insurance company said if I drove a Chevrolet Caviler (small affordable american saloon) my insurance would be much more expensive due to the fact that young drivers tend to drive these cars and also tend to crash them... a lot... so they said stick with the BMW. I was surprised to here it though.

@shawnheather323i Im from Lithuania. Well insurance in our country for a bmw is much more expensive than to other cars with the same amount of power. Its probably because its an rwd and even old models have a lot of power.

not really, oil and water temp was OK and these cars has safety RPM limiter if you have the car in P od N position. Can't reach more then 4000 rpm aprx. (in Drive positon is red line 6500)

this is a last spec. of anti-lock brakes so if you hit the brakes really hard on the dry and solid surface the ABS keeps wheels in 15% slipping. It means wheels will left on the tarmac two full black lines without breaks. The skipping ? A little bit because the fat tyres...

Nice, yeah I know 3.0D is really just economic choice. Better is twin-turbo 3.0sD. But good big gasoline V8 is still driver's choice.

I never drove X5 3.0d but my 730d E66 with 90 litre fuel tank do up to 1.250 km average around 700km per fuel tank but I'm never going under 200 km/h when driving so X5 3.0d in agile tempo must do 650 without any problem and 800-900km in economy style of driving on open roads.

Anyway very soon BMW will introduce X5 with 3.0sd engine. Which is a twin turbo 3.0 diesel engine knows from 335d and 535d BMWs I am fully confident this will be a best seller for new X5

Depends how fast you driving. BMW engines are really good in fuel efficiency, I know it sounds funny if we talking about 355hp 2.3ton SAV like a X5, but fuel economy is not really bad. You can drive for 13l/100 (18MPG) or 32 l/100 (7MPG) so I guess typical range per fuel tank with ordinary driver will be 400-450 km (280miles). But I'm driving faster so prefering sedans
