@curtisbadger no you idiot!!!! If you use bands, the tension of the band rises the higher the weight is lifted, which means that the weight gets heavyer the more the arms or legs get to the point where they are locked=this is the level where your muscles can lift more weight!! so thats why the weight is heavyer at that point
I had a good time checking out your video. It was comprehensive and I detected a good understanding of westside barbell powerlifting training. I would like to share some interesting videos about Westside Barbell training methods which I found quite useful at youtube.com/user/TheWestsidebarbell .
so its basically squats deadlifts and bench or floor presses are the exercises are there anymore to be a powerlifter seriously i'm interested in powerlifting bodybuilding is not for me
completely wrong. the way the westside guys train they never do simple benches. theres always gotta be some kind of catch or twist to it, you cant just endlessly bench and expect to get a good bench. you gotta always mix it up and test for new PR's. same goes for the other 2 lifts. always train muscles the right way to help improve in core lifts like hams with glute ham raises and tris with extensions etc mix it up. pick up "westside barbell book of methods" really complicated but its worth it
Joints, if you are recovering from a hard work out still you can ease the range of motion by doing presses on the floor. Also having the legs flat takes an of the quad push out of it
It's a technique to help with a sticking point. If you find that you're press always stops in the middle of the lift then that's you're sticking point. This allows you to become stronger at that portion of the lift. Try it sometime, it's a great accessory. Bring the weight down till your triceps touch the floor. Hold a 3 count, and explode it back up.
maybe they are scared of injury...when your upper arms go down past the plane of your body your rotator cuff and at high risk for injury...but people still do it anyway
steroids or no steroids you still have to train hard and eat right. People in every lifting thread say "oh steroids blah blah blah cheat" yet even with steroids you still need all the dedication, proper training, and eating habits that a natural would need if not more.
So whats your point? They want it more and a ready to take it to the next level, I bet you take every suppliment that is supposedly legal and say you are 'clean & natural' get fucking real!
no offense meant but everyone knows that APFers use steroids. Ernie Franz. In reality I would think that most powerlifters use steroids; at least those at the top levels.
I have no idea what you mean by "those wrestlers thatyou drool over"; if that is a crack about me being gay and lusting after wrestlers; no need to insult me because I said that APF powerlifters use steroids.
it depends on which powerlifting competition you're competing in. they are starting to test for steroids for most professional powerlifting competitions nowadays.
ah bullshit. steroids dont do anything, they dont make you stronger. its a big lie!!!!! its the training

I dont get what the resistance bands do. The either make the weight lifter or heavy. Surely adjusting the weight will have the same outcome!!

In powerlifting, form gets off due to the heavy weights. It's nothing to be alarmed about.
