Trying to take an existing sound and alter it just for the alterations sake with no artistic merit... end result .. boring, flat, raucous crap. They would be better off just chilling out and if it imitates or sound obviously inspired fuck it, pushing to be original hard is affected and not original just contrived. There is nothing wrong with letting your influences show.

I feel the same way you do.I could give a good detailed reason but in short,to me,because people have lost the true purpose of why they are or want to make music other than money.R&B,Hip Hop,Rap have become integrated into the mainstream instead of being it's own thus creating a hybrid.I am so glad I was a part of the late 70's,80's and early 90's indie music scene.Good music and good times. What we need is a King Arthur to pull Excalibur from the stone and save rock n roll.
