@DralionROBLOX no its because the director wanted to end the whole Michael Myers story at 2, and since his Halloween films were getting popular, he decided to make Halloween 3 Season of the witch but then realized that people loved the michael character and was forced to bring him back and brung loomis back as well

I love that scene in 4 where Loomis sees Michael again, tries to reason with him all doctor-like at first, then is just like fuck it and starts unloading a gun at him.

Funny we never really see him as a doctor, just more a crusader. Still badass though. Few could survive an explosion while taking down pure evil let alone survive a stroke while taking down pure evil years later.

@wweevolutionfan101 That is a good observation. There's actually a great piece of trivia attached to that clip when Michael attacks Loomis in the school from Halloween 4: The return of Michael Myers. That mask looks different because it's actually the mask from the original 1978 Halloween. The director wanted to use the original mask for the entire film but it had been mishandled over the years thus why it was only used for that particular scene. Hope that helps!

I think that without Loomis as the protagonist, the "Halloween" series does not keep its quality. Loomis represents everything Michael is not, and will forever be in a constant battle between good and evil as long as they both live (or even die).

According to John Carpenter and other producers it was originally intended to kill Loomis and Michael. The plan was to do other Halloween films without Michael, however, we saw how that was received with Halloween 3. So that retconned it to being a small explosion if I'm not mistaken.

One of the best "heroes" on horro movies. The Original Loomis (Pleasence) fits its role as the nose end, but McDowell in remake n' H2 is a good actor and fits his role too... But I inclined to side of Pleasence.
