Reduced the unemployment rate and the deficit from what Bush left him. Advanced work equality for all women. Remember "cash for clunckers?" Increased health insurance for children . @TOTCD Facts where did you get yours?The fact is employment rates during the last year of Bush were still much higher the during anytime under OBAMA.Under Obama we lost millions of jobs and unemployment rates are at all time highs.The overall rate is now estimated at 9.1 rather then 9.2 precent from a mont ago that is improvement however the highest unemployment rate under Bush was 7.6 percent So Obama has increased job loss, not including the effects on self employed or under employed people.

But we were still losing jobs during the last years of Bush's presidency.
He wasn't able to stop it from happening.
Which is why unemployment reached those levels.
Obama has only been president for three years but the economy is showing signs of a recovery.
The recovery isn't going as fast as people are hoping for but that's just how it goes.
By Nov 2012 unemployment will still be around 8%.

@TOTC You're wrong. You keep saying "...during the last years of Bush's presidency." and that just isn't so. Unemployment was 5.6% 6 months before the 2008 election. All told, for the 8 (EIGHT) years of Bush's service as PotUS, unemployment averaged a tick over 5%. When UE was 5.5%, Pelosi and Reid were Screaming about the horrible unemployment numbers...Why no word from them now? They blamed Bush for 5.5% but U-6 16% and 16% unemployment for black folks is ok under Obama. Right? It's His fault!

@TOTCD Yes we did have the worst of the financial crisis occur under Bush thus the job losses however it was Obamas lack of leadership, lack of direction, willingness to bash America around the globe and two massive bailouts that bankrupted us and broke the back of our economic system. Obamas stimulas bills have not created or saved the jobs he said they would and yet he still continues to push for more of the same, that is crazy. He created a panel to come up with solutions yet he ingored them.

And I understand that the President does have somewhat of a valid job, but really and truthfully it does not exist with the people, without our votes and opinions there is no democratic government. So i think you're right in saying things have gotten worse but there is a much bigger picture here than the President. If you are 18 or over legally you are responsible for your choices, how you educate yourself , what you do with that education and your beliefs, that is the point I'm making.
