It worked for both teams really because the nuggets needed a point gaurd and the pistons were trying to get cap room. So the pistons got iverson's expiring contract and the nuggets got the point gaurd that they really needed.

This trade on the other hand made no sense on dallas's side. you had a good young talent who's quickly on the rise and you trade for an aging over the hill superstar. Bad move.
