Makes me love my 78 Regal 3.8L Turbo RWD even more than ever! Say goodbye to real American cars! I have always been a GM guy, but if I where to buy a new car(which I prob never will) it would have to be a Ford! At-least they sold off their foreign brands and kept it all American, there not sending jobs to China, Mexico..and for once they have quality cars!

I was referring to the 1988-2004 Buick Regal models. They of course had around 96 percent American content but were assembled in Oshawa. Last time I checked there is no such thing as a Canadian version.

I mean the Canadian sold versions. I never heard they where going to be made in Mexico, I just assumed they would be. GM has a Buick assembly plant in Mexico City, as-well as Ontario. Anyway you look at it, its a loss of what used to be US jobs. It might help GM, but its not helping the US economy by building them in other countries. No offense to Canadian workers, but GM, Ford and Chrysler where all US born companies. They have all sold-out to some point, but GM is just a foreign company now.

There is not such thing as a Candian sold version, its the same as the American sold version. All North American market 1988-2004 Regals were assembled in Oshawa. Sure its a loss but Canada and GM have a deal because Canada lent money to General Motors.

I am curious to see the amount of domestic content on these vehicles. Still beats the "American Made" imports with less then 50 percent domestic content. Can`t call it American made if its less then 70-75 percent domestic content.

Ok, I didn`t know the Regals where made there, I was always told Buick is in Mexico by old GM worker friends, so I just thought they where built there. It might be made in Canada and not the US, but its better than China and Mexico. The American assembled Imports are still Imports, but at-least it gives jobs that GM has taken away over the years. A-lot of the parts on GM cars now are made in China or Mexico and assembled in American/Canadian plants. Some cars are fully built in Mexico and China.

The Volt plant is just down the road from my house in Flint, MI and the other is just outside of Detroit. The battery for the Volt is being made at Kettering University in Flint right now.
