She is crazy as can be!! Poor little girl being babysat by a lunatic, And she grabbed Richard Widmark like he was a crook and she was the cops when he tried to leave! LOL
@Flaminia5 and Noralexa: In one of her biographys: "The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe" by J. Randy Taraborrelli, there are many instances described where Marilyn does exhibit some of the behaviors of her ill mother. She is said to have told several different people interviewed for the book that she heard voices and was hiding from people who were watching her (Natasha lytess and jim dougherty included as well as others)
I do agree it;s kind of crazy that she's playing a role that in many ways
mirrors the behaviors of her mother and in some ways herself.
The book I mentioned, in particular, describes some of these bizarre mannerisms in various settings throughout her life. I just wonder if playing such a role scared her in any way because she was always concerned about becoming like her mother or grandmother and that idea seemed to haunt her quite frequently from what I've read.
This role really captivates the depth of her character I think and shows she could act.
also in real life marilyn monroe was crazy in real life not real noticably but she told some people like natsha lytess bout hearing voices and stuff like once she walked ou t of her house and ran down the street and told her husband Jim Doughtry(at the time her husband) that she ran out of the house because she was being stalked and wanted to loose the man.
this was one of her very first roles.. it's interesting if u read about MM in depth.. her mother was crazy and treated her exactly the way MM is treating this little girl here, so it must've been strange irony to play this role!
Gladys didn't treat Norma Jeane this way at all. She lived with foster parents and saw Gladys once in a while, and they'd go on outings. Their relationship was distant and strained, but never cold or abusive
i swaear she could be my grandmother's twin when my grandmother was younger, lol its freaky but cool she's awesome!!! no words can discribe Marilyn L)

That elevator operator ought to know Rule #1 when dealing with a crazy person: Don't call her crazy to her face because it will excite her.
