  • I notice '' Gran '' played '' Miss Flyte '' in the BBC1984 ' Bleak House '

  • It's a very close adaption to the book, that's really great :D However, I imagined the characters very differently...

  • @MegaMrEnte I think that they got closer with appearances than some other adaptations, most make the main character too pretty, sort of like casting for Jane Eyre. Without besmirching this actress's appearance I'd say she's just plain enough for the job, but you're right about the characters being a bit off.

  • @aDieuSeul I didn't no there are other adaptions, r they on YouTube? :)

  • @MegaMrEnte There's a 1940 version up, as well as an Italian version. You have to have a lot of time on your hands to watch the Italian version though, no subtitles. And I believe that they're all linked in the 'related videos' column on the right.

  • "We have a treat today. Watercress sandwiches!" Brilliant!

  • "what will you go at? alice in wonderland? you look like it now with your finger in your mouth." hahahaha. jeremy is just brilliant!

  • @niyaha

That bit of dialogue is straight from the novel. I can't understand why it's sometimes said of Daphne du Maurier that she wasn't good at writing dialogue. I think she's always good at it and often brilliant.

  • Jeremy Brett = cardiac arrest at 19! <3

  • Trivia: The young man almost sideswiped by Beatrice at 4:56 is David Huggins, son of Jeremy Brett and Anna Massey, aged about 20.

  • How do you know that its him? You can't see his face. If only there were more videos of Jeremy Brett's son. I don't even know what he sounds like. Anyone know of any videos of David Huggins?

  • That info is from an interview David H. gave to Emma Hagestadt for the Independent, 3 Nov. 2001. Headline is: David Huggins: Public Faces in Private Places."

He says: The only time I acted was in a TV adaptation of Rebecca. My mother played Mrs Danvers and my father played Maxim de Winter. I played an extra (under some duress) who was almost run over by the actress Vivienne Pickles".

This is the only scene in which Vivienne Pickles almost runs over anyone, so I leapt to my conclusion.
