Disco dancing, polyester clothes, platform shoes, women looking for an "adventurous" evening, and cocaine. Yeah, I had some memorable times way back in 1975-76. Bowie is awesome.
"bACK IN 1975, my dear brother David turned me on to this album. It seems a bit ironic to me that the albums cover art 'title StationtoStation was written in web style...? this song, as do all the aothers on this record...bloew me awayeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
has anyone noticed the red black white theme from several artists? Interpol david bowie, kraftwerk, gary numan white stripes, many others? is there a connection? anyone?
@saganemc2, a friend of mine who works for a large company that uses this colour combination told me once the red white / red black combo is often used in marketing strategies, red is mainly used to draw attention ... Overanalysing as he often tends to, he boiled it down to nazism and fascism in the end. Coincidencially, the Thin White Duke era is sometimes associated with nazism, fascism subconciously. Anyway, I'm out of characters, so I suggest you read up on colour psychology. ;)
I remember a double being used, which turned out to be a girl? as for the salute,I would say it was typical Bowie, flirting with the crowd, ''he was definitely influenced by the pre WW11 German decadence thing! but I would say that was one of many influences that he took on board, and turned inside out, which makes him the enigma, that so many of us have been influenced by.
I was at Victoria Station, when he arrived in London [he didn't fly in those days] later that week the ''THIN WHITE ONE''was revealed to all at EARL COURT ''what a concert! the man is pure genius,
Its a good album but Bowie has a leather clothed airplane Robert Fripp tells me and it was good orginised.I prefer the progressive bands itravelling in an old car.or bike.
Know one of the reasons Bowie's always awesome? He always chooses kick-ass Guitarists to work with. Mick Ronson...SRV...And Earl Slick.
