Hated his solos...Because you cannot play them. They are off standard rhythm. The same way it was tough for 60's country studio-men to gig with Willie Nelson. He sang off-rhythm, and you had to train yourself to not listen to him, but keep an internal beat. To copy Vernon Reid, you need to not listen to the rest of the band and just play the solo as if it existed on it's own. Very difficult.

i noticed you said something about low output. i actually just custom made my own custom partscaster and it has these dimarzio that are designed to hum cancel and even with my vox ac50 its still not giving me that full potential i keep hearing it should be able go give me. any suggestions?

@blackmagi849 Depends. Personally I prefer the tone of normal single coils... and then I just deal with the hum. I'm guessing you don't want any hum??? If that's the case go with some Lace singles they're very quiet, plus they have some models that have a decent amount of balls to em.

@TheSchoolsux345 Yeh I have an '89 Strat Plus and totally agree. I think the low output pickups he refers to are more to do with the hollow metal body than the actual pickups. Check out the Playboy, Harness, and Golden State Strat reviews Phil X does, for a true representation of Lace Pickups.

You guys caught the crossroads thing (which I love) but it's more of a take on it. 2 octaves lower & in G instead of A so the open strings can ring out & cause that dissonance that makes some people crash their cars.
