  • Messes with your head when you think an animal is alive today that was alive just 20 years after the U.S became a country... 50 years before the cival war... and well before electricy

  • "And it's naht ahncahmman to see these jaiahnt gais use their..."

  • cute little face ? that turtle looks like my grandpa , plus it looks like he got webs on his mouth

  • Cold blooded means an attraction to heat? I was always taught they were attracted to the cold.

  • @Raymint Cold blooded means that they can't warm themselves up on their own. They must be heated up by the sun or else their body temp goes south.

  • They've been around for over a million years, eh?

Apparently they're slow at evolving too.

  • He looks like he's listening... I think he is well aware of whats going on.

  • His spine, its literally FI-YOOOSSSED~ : D

  • Ocean City MD had a 300 year old tortoise found dead on the beach. It was huge.

  • is a turtle shell bulletproof?

  • Easy. Thanks for watching.

  • how did you get your job working at a zoo? did you need a special education on animals? i want to get a job at a zoo someday

  • Now I want my speedy to stay small forever...cause that's HUUUUUUUUGE!

  • my son swears he heard a small wil lizard in Arizona scream when a tarantula came too close, twice. Is there such a thing? I've lived around deserts a lot and known of none and my son is a liar but I heard some kind of Utah fish scream (unknown kind) so guess its possible. Or tell me how I could find out.

    thanx

  • I'd have to know what type of lizard it is. I will say that many animals, even reptiles from time to time, can have some strange alarm calls. This not only scares away potential predators, but it can also warn others that danger is near. So a sreaming lizard may not be as far fetched as you think! Thanks for watching.

  • hey man i got a lil red eared slider and i wander if he can eat grass, can he?

  • I don't recommend it. They are more of an insect eater. They do make some good commercial food you can buy for them too. Thanks for watching.

  • Tortoise. Close enough. I absolutely LOVE him! He's wonderful...

Back home at the Staten Island Zoo in NY, we had Jalopy - a hundred year old galapogos (spelling).... grew up with him. He did pass on now.. but loved him too!

  • Wow, how well behaved! If he hadn't blinked you couldswear he was fake. We should have taken that one to Channel 10.

  • lol. I wish that was my tortoise, but I think I would have to give it it's own room in my house.

  • any tips for a tortoise. i got mine from tunisia. he will only eat lettuce. tried different veg. tried cuttlefish dust but he will not take to it. i use dried small bark for flooring.

  • What kind is he?

  • he is a sulcata, i think. not really sure. he looks most like the sulcatas in pictures. cheers

  • Sulcata's are great. Keep in mind that they are a desert tortoise. Because of this, they are built to eat some hardcore roughage. It is best that once they are big enough, let them graze in the backyard to eat grasses. When they are young, sand is a good substrate for them, and add some other rough leafy greens to his diet, like kale. Good luck.

  • that thing looks dead :( all I could see in its eyes was black...when animals are dead, their eyes go dark :'(
