@odannon A matter of opinion. I personally regard it as, without irony or hyperbole, my favorite guitar solo of all time. At a certain point, he stops using his guitar as a musical instrument and starts using it as a means of channeling emotion. There's no fret workouts of blazing fast arpeggios, just raw emotion.

Kozelek took an example of just how awful Wings could be and turned it into something truly majestic. He's a phenomenal artist who is criminally unheard of by the masses... a brilliant songwriter in his own right but my word hasn't he also served up some incredible covers?

One of the best covers I ever heard. Usually you hear covers that try to sound like the original only with the covering singer's voice. Seldom you run into a cover that is actually a personal interpretation of the original song. But in those cases it sometimes seems to me like the covering artist worked very hard to give that interpretation. Here I don't feel it- it feels just right. It sounds like a Red house painters' song.

By the way, I love Paul McCartney .

Great guitar-playing, very evocative and even emotional. I like the bluesy take. My biggest problem is that it took almost FIVE MINUTES before anything resembling Silly Love Songs was heard. When the singing started, the lyrics seemed to be an afterthought, just laying there, without any tie to the music. I'm not expecting you to pull Linda McCartney out for backing lyrics, but I was expecting Silly Love Songs, a shred of melody, a chord progression, SOMETHING. Great music, horrible cover.
