  • Les Emmerson is a brilliant talented man,What a great Band. They kicked ASS to bad they were never given the respect they deserved.

  • This song sounds so 1971 :)

  • NEEDS MORE COWBELL !!!

  • NEEDS MORE COWBELL !!!!!!!!!

  • I love their sound. They should have had many more hits in the US.

  • if you want to patch up anything with women, tell them they are right and they will shut up.

  • pAVE PARADISE

    BIG YELLOW TAXI!

  • Needs to be the theme song for all men! lol

  • Pretty good. Nice hearing something from 5MEB besides "Signs".

  • One of my favorite songs since it came out. Great melody, and I love the way it builds through to the end. What a drag I left this one at the college radio station back in1979. Hey look! There's another great song to my right... Lee Michael's Do You Know What I Mean! Gotta go!

  • What a blast! Love it. Love it.

  • This song stills rocks 39 years later; it rocked when i was a teen and now and adult love the band now and forever

  • These guys put autotuned artists to shame.

Artists need to stop using autotune and drum machines in their music, the song loses the human feel to it and makes it sound worse.

Kudos to all the real musicians out there.

  • What a great song, AND a great bass line! Always loved this tune....

  • In my case, The bitch was absolutely right. FML

  • I like the way you put the video together. For those of us who missed this song when it was released, it's good to see some information about it and the band.

  • This tune always gets me running to crank up the sound. What an amazing, hard-driving tune. An extra minute would have been ever better. (That's why I'll play it twice in a row ... or three times!

  • Very cool song. Unbelievable power in just over two minutes.

  • What I find absolutely stunning, there were five Captains on board. And such an even Keel.

  • Always liked this much better than their preachy first hit.

  • I knew all of the words then........ still remember... Quote the words to your girlfriend or wife and all will be fine

    Much better than "SIgns"

  • loved it back then...forgot it completely until I saw some film on CBC a few years back. Found it, put it on the road tape, and played it, cranked, about 500 times during a month on Ireland's roads.

  • @culchie2 Ireland's roads combined with Absolutely Right, cranked? I'm 'green with envy'! Sounds fantastic!

  • goot

  • Very beatles....I like it....oh and agreed this definitly should have topped sings on the charts

  • signs*...................idiot lol!

  • @pzrplam I was about to tell you off and then I realized you were responded to your own typo.

People can be such assholes about that, I've noticed. I once used the name "Page" instead of "Plant" on a Led Zeppelin video comment, some guy threatened to shove a knife in my vagina (I'm a guy) and rape my sister.

  • lol

  • @pzrplam I agree.....this has always evoked a Beatles vibe to me too. They never play this one and it was the best 5MEB ever did.

  • Maybe it's just me, but I think "Absolutely Right" is far superior to The Five Man Electrical Band's other (but higher charting) major hit, "Signs." "Signs" debuted in March 1971 and peaked at #5 in the U.S. "Absolutely Right" arrived that October and peaked at #26.

  • You're not the only one, I also prefer "Absolutely Right" over "Signs" myself and I wish this song would be a minute or so longer too, "Absolutely Right" should've been a much higher charting single than what it was, I remember hearing this song on the Oldies station all the time back in the mid 1990s

  • lol this is the married mans mantra to his wife

..;p " Your absolutely right and im wrong"

  • This is what you would call a timeless Rock & Roll HIT!!!

  • yea for Canadian Rock n Rollers...

  • cool keyboard riff.

  • one of my all time favourite songs... usually can always put me in good mood

  • This group was awsome back in the day. Would like to see them reform in a reunion concert.

  • The intro of this song almost reminds me of the intro to the song "Take a Letter Maria" (forgot the artist)

  • R.B. Greaves is the guy who made "Take A Letter Maria" a million-selling hit in 1969.

  • Thanks

  • i'm from canada and had no idea these guys were canadian....none of the american dj's ever mentioned that !!!

  • Saw these guys in Bellevue, WA at a dance at a rollerrink - Lakehills!

  • The band was formed out of the nucleus of the "STACCATOS" from Ottawa. They were successful in their own right and a fantastic band to hear live which I was lucky to hear a couple of times. The Staccatos have a couple of songs on posted on Youtube if you're interested.

  • Here I am again.....MOMMA! The one thing that stands out from these Canadians.... Two US hits and two FABULOUS INTROS! Those 'hooks' and the harmonies put this and "Signs" into the POP/ROCK Single "Hall of Fame"....Yes, a lost art....Rock based pop that is hooked-ladened and catchy.... Who wants to do the remake with an added guitar and keyboard bridge in the middle?? Make it about 4 to 5 minutes in length...

  • Woohoo! What a song

  • few bands can write songs like this anymore.... it feels like its a dying art....sigh

  • It's amazing (well, not really) how many truly incredible songs from the Golden Era of Rock (that being the late sixties and early seventies) came out of the North. Guess Who. Lighthouse. BTO. Five Man Electric Band. Etc.Oh Canada.

Let us sing the praises of the maple leaf. Amen.

  • april wine too!

  • i liiiiiike

  • I second DonDevesso's comment.

  • i also agree! OH CANADA- this song is better than signs

  • Absolutely. I race for the volume control when this song comes on Pychadelic Psundays on Q107. But not for Signs - perhaps just from being overplayed so much. But I think A.Right is just a great hard-driving tune!

  • This one should definitely have placed higher on the US charts.

  • YOU`RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!

  • I absolutely agree with you, I've always liked this song better than "Signs"

  • @smittykins ... because it's a CANADIAN BAND....

  • @smittykins thelyll never cover this on american idol

  • Memories!

  • Forgot all about this song!!!! And for so many years I thought these guys were in the "one-hit wonder" category. :-)

    Thanks for posting.
