  • post your deconversion here pleeaseeeeeee: wronggodtonogod. com :)

  • Are you still accepting people's stories? Can I send mine to you?

  • I became an athiest through the story of how i got my youtube name during the south african border warin 1966, my grandpa was recalled into the service after serving in 3 other wars. He was shot in the arm, the bullet peirced through into his lung, he survived for 30 more years, he was initially a believer but when he was shot he became agnostic. He told me it was sheer will power that let him live to see my 6th birthday no one magically saved him. He taught me the value of self determination...

  • @AngelusLapsus66 (continued)

Now heres the kicker, in his final hours he was visited by a preacher who told him that if he prayed hard enough and had enough will power he would make it. After he died the preacher turned to my family and saidto my dad,"I'm sorry but your father just didn't have the inner strength for the lord to forgive him."This being the same man who survived 30 years with a bullet in his lung! My dad punched him right in the jaw.

Angeluslapsus is latin for fallen angel.

  • my deconversion started in school, when i was 7. how? well, when i heared the ridiculous storry of genesis, and learned so mani prayers that had no sense but wining to yourself, and asking god for mercy for... what? it wasa mine field, all it needed (even if i didn;t kare too much about religion) even at that age i found religion something strange that might be dangeorus. the spark that set it all of was when i saw a verry old blind priest who was known and traveled and was respected (continue)

  • @stalkersas (continue) in all europe at the bigest monastiry in our country. and i was going to to do my confession to him. i didnt saw him as a holy man, i saw him as a wise old man, respected by a continent... i entered the church, alone, he asked me my age, then he asked me if i know a specific prayer. i didnt, but, i paniked and sayed i did, he asked me to say it, and i say i didnt know it. he sayed the sin of lying in church is unforgetable, and i will go to hell and (continue)

  • @stalkersas (continue) the fact that i do not know a verry important prayer makes me a pagen, a fake christian. i walked out, and for a moment i felt a colosal shame, but in a few seconds, i sayed in my head... this is bullshit, if the prayer was so important how come it wasn;t mentioned in school. i didnt gave a damn about religion aniway, just didnt want to tell my parents it's crap, but now i did, and they sayed "it's ok, it's your decizion" aniway for them it was just a tradition.

  • I was an agnostic for much of my life, until I realized that atheism is an intellectually closed-minded, dogmatic system, whereby one cannot postulate objective morality, justice, meaning, love, etc. Then, upon meeting atheists, I realized that atheism is in large part simply a rejection of moral authority.

I decided to become a real free-thinker, and not limit myself to atheist dogma. I am now a theist.

  • SCORE. Check the responses to this video!

  • Would love to. Alas, I lack a cam and/or mic as yet. That may soon be rectified, who knows.

  • Theists often voice condescending opinions that atheists must have suffered some sort emotional trauma and are "angry at God." Every former theist I know became deconverted through a rational process--which starts with asking questions. Often it happens during education in school, and learning more about history and philosophy. On the other hand, every non-religious person I've ever known who became "born again" did so after an emotional event of some sort--a death, fear, or falling in love.

  • ;) good idea!

  • King is right. With enough knowledge and an open mind you can easily see why the bible and all other religions dont add up, they dont make sense and any kind of creator by their definition would be highly unlikely.

  • I collect deconversions on my channel too.

  • @Anotherexchristian

liar- you got a bunch of dumb asses bahing about islam

    From one delusion to another

  • I don't like the term "deconvert."

  • mine is easy , never was a theist , didn't even believe in the phantom santa ;)

  • I'll send you a message now just in case you're curious to read what I tried to make my autobiography for that thinkatheist website. And then I'm curious so I'll check out the video responses. ;) I bet there are some good deconversion stories there. :D

  • Yeah I took an Introduction to Religion class and learned about Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Judaism, Taoism, Christianity, and Islam. I then became pretty sure that I was an atheist... I already kinda thought I didn't believe in God or any religion but I wanted to learn more, and it was an awesome class... but THEN I discovered thinkatheistDOTcom and became hooked on the idea of atheism. ;) Now I am very proud to be an atheist. :D See, I can do 500 characters or less. ;) LOL.

  • I became atheist by studying the gods of other cultures, I read a lot of History, and I realized that all those gods and stuff were just stories made by humans.

  • me too pretty much.

  • I converted to Christianity during my undergrad studies at a liberal University in Md. Listening to my professors, studying logic, and thinking for myself led me to understand that there is no neutral point of view, in the market place of ideas every view is a view from somewhere, we all begin with assumptions, and that God is like the sun, you cannot look directly at it, yet without it you cannot see everything else. My graduate studies are perpetually affirming this.

  • sucks to be you. Maybe one day you will gain common sense and will stop believing in fairytales.

  • crap,

Sir, i rather enjoy being me, joy is, in fact, central to my life because the fundamental questions of life are answered, whereas the peripheral ones aren't; to you the peripheral questions may be answered, but the fundamental questions of life (origin, meaning, condition, redemption, destination) are unanswered. Tell me, please, in a commonsensical way how the most verifiable event in ancient history is a fairytale?

  • According to you, what is the "most verifiable event in ancient history"?

  • Birth, death, resurrection of Jesus Christ. Your choice

  • sorry not verifiable AT ALL. No proof AT all. But nice try. Whatever flows your boat, and keeps you from killing ppl.

  • Crap,

apt nomenclature, keep your crayons sharp, enjoy your fairytale while you can, until reality crushes it, if your ever ready to end recess and enter a topic for adults, then come on in. Truth can only be told to those who will hear it.

  • i was six years old

i had been told not to "take god's name in vain"

i heard someone do it and pointed itout

    i was laughed at

i realised nobody else believed that this god existed.

  • neomp5,

Only cowards seek the esteem of their peers over the truth. Any dead thing can float with the current, but it takes something truly alive to swim against the current.

  • Cam,

apt nomenclature, keep your crayons sharp, enjoy your fairytale while you can, until reality crushes it, if your ever ready to end recess and enter a topic for adults, then come on in. Truth can only be told to those who will hear it.

  • that's not the best comparison, as somr of the biggest wannabes in our culture are the ones going against the current for it's own sake.

  • neomp,

I agree, nonetheless the analogy stands that the appeal to plurality is still a fallacy. Please listen to me, I implore you not to let others set your principles for you, find reasons to believe what you believe or find reasons to believe something else, then dont let the specious allurements of "fitting in" derail you. But be honest in your quest. Its the condition of your heart when you seek that often determines the condition of your answers.

    God bless

  • it's following that very advice that gets me hated by both sides of most discussions. but the only alternative is to be dishonest, and i will not do that. i don't make my decisions based on other people's views on my decisions, one way or the other. some people seek approval, others specifically seek dissaproval. i seek truth. which is exactly why "god" will not "bless".

  • neomp,

So first you were laughed at so you believed God didnt exist; now you say you dont make decisions on other peoples views?

Now you say you seek truth. Where are you going to seek truth? Kingheathen? his obsequious sycophants on here? Did you ever even go to the source to hear what Jesus said about Himself or do you let other people interpret that for you? Jesus said whoever comes to me I will never drive away. God will, indeed, bless your humble search for Him.

  • i do not believe god doesn't exist, i don't believe gods do exist. that is why i was laughed at.

you've just made a complete 180 degree reverse from your last 2 posts. now you're begging me to give in to peer pressure like some lonely teenager and join a clique, preferrably yours.

jesus also said the truth will set you free. there is very little truth found in your mythology. the truth is found by abandoning your childish need for the approval of others and exploring the universe for yourself

  • Jesus did say the truth will set you free, but its incomplete without context. Speaking to people ready to stone him (obviously not seeking approval) for claiming to the the Son of God He said: "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free." Later He says I am the way the truth and the life. No one come to the Father but through me. You can try to explore the universe yourself, or you could come to the One who created it.

  • he also said he was not the son of god.

you might want to look into thomas jefferson's bible.

you are doing the exact approval-seeking you were talking about earlier.

  • neomp,

    1. Can you reference that?

    2. Why would I go to a Deist who repudiated everything supernatural to gain a greater understanding of a supernatural being?

3.I only seek the approval of my Redeemer

  • 1: luke 9:20-21

2: there is no supernatural being. jefferson's bible would give you a version of the book that makes sense.

3: you could be your own redeemer, if you'd only stop seeking the approval of other people.

  • neomp,

Luke 9:20-21: Here Jesus tells His disciples not to tell anyone yet that He is the Christ. It would be like me telling you I'm going to run for president, but I'm not ready to announce it yet, so dont tell anyone. Under no circumstance is he implying he's not the Christ.

2: No, because without the supernatural if Jesus said the things he said, he'd be either a lunatic or a liar.

3: A dirty rag can not make another dirty mirror any cleaner. We're the problem; problems dont solve problems

  • 1: if you actually READ the book, there are many people referred to as sons of god, but jesus insisted on being called son of man, not god. he referred to god as his father and everyone else's father.

2: you mean things like "hey, let's all be nice to each other for a change, not that i'm divine or anything"? the liars and lunatics are the people who came up with the son of god stuff.

    3: not with that additude

  • neomp,

    1. if you actually read and UNDERSTOOD the book, those who put their trust in Jesus will be called sons of God, not the Son of God, but they can call God their Father because they partake of His life. Son of Man is a hebrew messianic term, Jesus was declaring that He was the Messiah.

    2. You dont get crucified for saying be nice to eachother; you get crucified for claiming to be God and forgiving sins.

    3. The blind shouldn't lead the blind. Its a realist attitude.

  • 1: mark 10:18

2: no, you get crucified for disturbing the peace by running around the temple with a whip. do you think the romans gave a crap about some religious squabble between jews?

3: who better to lead the blind than the blind? especially when everyone is blind. we all have the same blindness, we are all equally unable to be certain of reality. what you do is tell yourself you're not blind and proceed on your way. what i do is make my way cautiously. you're just in denial.

  • neomp,

    1. Again, never denies His deity, here He questions the assumptions of His questioner. Basically He's saying: you call me good, do you realize you are speaking to God?

    2. No, its quite obvious the jews had Him crucified, and yes, he challenged the corruption and power structure of the religious oligarchy.

    3. Jesus opened the eyes of the blind, literally and figuratively. He is the light of the world. Those who come to Him will walk by the light and not by the darkness.

  • 1: that is exactly the opposite of what he says there. why do you even have a scripture if you're just going to make up your own meaning for it?

2: the jews were not in power. he was crucified by the roman authorities for what their laws considered criminal behavior.

3: jesus did no such thing. you are reading a book of fiction as if it were historical fact. all because you have a crippling fear of the dissaproval of others, and a contempt for the truth.

  • listen to your own words:

the appeal to plurality is still a fallacy. Please listen to me, I implore you not to let others set your principles for you, find reasons to believe what you believe or find reasons to believe something else, then dont let the specious allurements of "fitting in" derail you. But be honest in your quest.

  • neomp

    1. "Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone?" "good" was a designation reserved, in the absolute sense, for God. Jesus was reacting thus to a person who was unaware of His divine nature.

Not denying it, rather establishing it.

    2. Several times Pilate declared Him innocent; as well as Herod Antipas. Only when the Jews threatened insurrection did Pilate cave.

    3. I lost a great deal many friends coming to Christ in college, but I value truth and knowing my Savior far more

  • 1:that misinterpretation would make sense if he had said "why don't you call me good?" but he said the exact opposite of that. he told the man to stop referring to him with terms he was unworthy of.

2: in the book, which if you recall, is fiction. history tells a different story.

3: maybe you had real friends and you gave them up for a much larger and shallower community. unless you live in norway, being religious is an act of conformity, not rebellion.

  • neomp,

    1. The whole statement is, as a matter of fact, in interrogatory format, not imperative. Thus Jesus gives him no such command.

    2. Well the only other major source is the secular historian Josephus, and he shows no contradiction. Literally speaking the Bible has no elements of fiction in it.

    3. No, the old friends still wake up every morning wondering what's life about, looking for purpose and meaning, trying to fill that void with whatever the world fraudulently says will satisfy.

  • 1: you've inverted the meaning. you've made up your own meaning instead of going by what the book says. is that not blasphemy?

2: litterally speaking? have you made up your own definition of "fiction" as well?

3: wheras you filled it wioth the first fraud that came along, so you could fit in.

  • the bible is fiction..ffs stop fooling yourselves

  • do you seriously read what your writing...you do know those are humans they talk about in the bible right?..stop fooling yourself..god isnt real and neither is anything stated in the bible..this is the 21st century not the 18th

  • You really do get an answer when you pray earnestly and fast if you are willing to accept it. Silence speaks a thousand words.

  • That may be the catalyst for most people, but through seeing other's b.s. many begin to also start to question belief in itself.

  • I became an atheist through a lot of prayer and fasting

  • @chuckmartinatcentury

    WOW!

    Explain!!

  • I love it!! Hi Heathens!!!! I have died and gone to heaven!! I haven't even watched the video yet. I was hooked with Hi Heathens!! Yay! Now i will watch it.

  • KingHeathen,

Yeah, higher education probably had a lot to do with my deconversion, but it all happened so slowly and unintentionally. Actually, it happened COUNTER-intentionally since I prayed fervently for years to have my doubts eliminated.

  • Looks like this video has been hit by the creationists votebots!

  • I didn't so much deconvert as I just lost interest. God didn't answer my prayers to be cured of asthma and I developed back problems after age 13. I still have asthma and back problems among other things and God never answered a single prayer. I came to the conclusion he didn't exist and i decided to give up on gods and just not believe. Basically this happened before age 10 and at age 62 I still don't believe in god. faith is a waste of time and prayer is a waste of time. Goodbye God.

  • I'm like you for a diffferent reason. I'm not an atheist either.

    I think the Bible misinterprent.

  • I was really religious when I was a kid. I grew out of it as an adult. Then I was crippled in an accident and now every believer sends me these stupid videos of "brave, struggling religious gimps" who are supposed to inspire me to go back to the fantasies and myths I left behind. Believers are incredibly ignorant

  • @Christheatheist1 that must be so painful. god people don't understand how rude they can be. "but we're only spreadin the good news" FUCK OFF!

  • @kendrawhisp - Yes. They latch onto these things as an excuse for their rudeness.

  • @Christheatheist1 well i am a christian i guess i'm an ignorant bastart too.... ok how where we created then answer me and i will let that comment slide

  • @DrinkToIreland - I didn't call you a bastard, you did. The Universe arose from natural processes. We are merely intelligent animals who evolved on its surface and when we die, we'll be gone, period. If this frightens you, run back to the comfortable fantasy you cling to. It makes no difference to me.

  • @Christheatheist1 ok where the hell did those animals come from? if that frightens you run back to your mom's basement where you leave. It makes no difference to me

  • @DrinkToIreland - Animals (like us) arose from single cell life forms which arose from amino acids and polypeptide chains. Read a science book, O Ignorant One.

  • @Christheatheist1 ok where did the acid come from and how was the polpeptide chains created?

  • @DrinkToIreland - You can't spell even when it's right in front of you, can you? Read a book, schmuck.

  • @Christheatheist1 ok but how was it created and where did it come from?

  • @DrinkToIreland - Go read a science book, Skippy. This isn't a classroom. Nothing created anything. It all happened through natural means. Why don't you try to wrap your fucking head around that instead of living in a dream world?

  • @Christheatheist1 well i asked you a question and you can't answer it so i don't have to listen to your idiotic statements good day sir...

  • @DrinkToIreland - I gave you an answer but it wasn't what you wanted to hear. Tough shit. Grow up

  • @Christheatheist1 no you never explained where the acids and polypeptide came from....

  • @DrinkToIreland - This isn't a science classroom. Go get a book called "Big Bang" by Simon Singh and read it.

  • @Christheatheist1 the world was created by a "big bang" in which i "banged" your mom case closed eh? but you stil didn't answer the question

  • @DrinkToIreland - The classless, ugly reply indicates you are a FAKE christian. Game over

  • @Christheatheist1 actually i am a chritian just a very laid back one.... you still didn't answer the questions

  • @DrinkToIreland Scientists have already shown that amino acids will form naturally under the right environmental conditions. A recent experiment confirmed this about 2 years ago. I did a video on it. But they did better than just amino acids...they formed RNA!

  • @KingHeathen ok then you answered life.... where did all the planets come from? and all the plants on earth?

  • @DrinkToIreland They formed from the heavy elements left over after a super nova. Let me save us both some time....the super nova was the result of an exploding star which was the result of compressed hydrogen gases formed after the Big Bang. The Big Bang was the expansion of a singularity. And FINALLY...the singularity existed and we aren't sure at this point what came before that. Our current technology doesn't allow us to see past that point. No god was needed for any of that.

  • @KingHeathen i see

  • @DrinkToIreland You were created when your parents had sex.

  • @KingHeathen yep i agree but i mean how the first humans where created

  • Someone who is angry at god, by definition, CANNOT be an atheist.

  • I never actually deconverted. Never really discussed it much with my religious friends either even though some were fundies. I just accidentally ran into a thread about the existence of god in a video game forum, and somehow it became my hobby for the next 6 years.

Should I post my story too? :D

  • Hey! Former christian, now atheist here. I'm moving from one state to another, and traveling/vacationing for a month or so before I end up getting to my new residence, but after that, I'll record my own de-conversion story and post it as a response to this. Looking forward to doing so! :)

  • Your back-and-forth with slaveofChrist7 just blew my mind (in a good way). That quote should be in a museum somewhere.

"So by your own standards, YOU are not a true Christian."

  • test

  • GOD IS REAL he has been in your life more then you know and although u dont love him he still loves you and wants u to follow him. god will give your life meaning and hold your hand through the things you cant face allown.

  • 1 Barney loves you.

2 My life already has meaning.

3 I don't need an imaginary friend to get me through anything...that's what my friends and family are for.

    4 Which god?

  • shannon995 is telling you the truth.

That's great that you have family and friends--thank God for them. Jesus Christ is the only one who can save you from hell.

You love to deny the One True God Almighty but did you know that even atheists have a god?

  • Again number four which One True God Almighty? The Abrahamic god? Vishnu? Odin (The All Father) Zeus/Jupiter (King of the Gods) etc etc... You see the problem we begin to have? There have been as many gods as there are cultures all of them claiming to have the One Truth. We reject this in an attempt to seek our own. As is the right of all humanity.

  • God, the Father of Jesus Christ.

  • Right Jesus the Seventh Son of God! Yea seventh. You see you had Asus Besus Cesus Desus Eesus Efsus Jesus...:)

  • Religious jokes.. hmm..

An elderly man enters the confessional and tells the priest:

"I am 83, and have been married almost 60 years. Yesterday I committed adultery for the first time, and it was with two young big breasted blondes who let me do anything to them."

    The priest replies:

"How long has it been since your last confession?"

"I've never done that, I am a jew" says the man.

"Then why are you telling me this?" asks the priest.

"Are you kidding? I'm telling everyone!"..

  • A rabbi a minister and a priest are trying to figure out how much money to give to charity.

The rabbi says "I know we'll draw a circle on the ground throw the money in the air and whatever lands inside the circle thats what we'll give to charity"

The minister says"No we'll draw a circle on the ground throw the money in the air and whatever lands OUTside the circle THATS what we'll give to charity"

And the priest says"No well throw the money WAY up into the air and whatever god wants he keeps"

  • Lol.

  • LMAO that's a good joke. ;)

  • You have really collected a few stories here. Nice work.

  • the bad part is that I have about 70 more to record that I just can't seem to get motivated on.

  • All of you were never true christains

  • what a coincidence...neither are you.

  • What MaChOfSweden is referring to is 1 John 2:19 which CLEARLY says "They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us."

By defending the faith, MaChOfSweden has shown much more evidence of being a true believer than you ever have.

  • in that case, the 10 years of my life that I spent defending the faith means that I've certainly proven my "true belief"...

I'd also recommend that you look up the phrase "circular logic" and understand why I don't care what John says in regards to the real world.

  • Im going to post a video about how someone tried to convert me to Atheism but didn't! Yay for me! Im so cool!

  • This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.

    1 Jn 3.16

  • And this is how we know what responsibility is: Peter Parker takes on the Green Goblin. 1st Spiderman Movie

Do you see why we think your comment is silly?

  • markch9v23's comment is not silly.

YOU, KingHeathen are getting answers from a fallible comic-based movie.

markch9v23 is getting their answer from THE WORD OF GOD.

  • If I told you to convert to atheism and then died for your right to be an atheist, would you convert to atheism?

(This is an honest question, I'm not trying to be satirical or a jerk, please don't take it as such.)

  • Have YOU ever noticed that Christians make up a much larger part of society and that maybe we go for the bigger issue?

Have you ever noticed that in countries where Islam is more of an issue, then the talk is directed straight at them?

Have you ever noticed ANYTHING that conflicted your preconceived notions?

  • I don't expect you to understand. It's probably beyond your comprehension.

  • I know that this video is two years old, but are you still excepting pm's.

  • yes, but I'm very far behind on them.

  • ok cool.

  • Could I psot my story about me turning agnostic and then me turning Buddhist dose it just have to be about becoming an atheist?

  • Buddhists....technically speaking...are usually atheists. Buddhism itself doesn't really address the idea of a "god"...it's about enlightenment. It tends to be more of a philosophy than a religion...

    but sure...that fits well enough.

  • ok thanks!!

  • I love how you seen so proud of yourself for making a short video, lol

  • I would like to send you my deconversion story. I do not have a webcam or a means to send a video, but I'll send my personal deconversion story to you if you are still accepting them. I'll have to do it tomorrow as it is getting late. I was born and raised into a very strict Catholic family, then later became a Southern Baptist. I have read the entire bible and later became an Atheist.

  • You can still send it to me, but I'm way behind on those...so be patient.

  • Thanks for sharing your stories.

  • It cracks me up that people seem to think that they have the secret for how to successfully pray and everyone else just isn't doing it right...

    Yes, prayed "in Jesus' name"...

Yes, I understand the faulty logic of "yes, no, or wait"....try the same thing with a rabbit's foot...you get the same answers.

And there is NOTHING that I ever got from praying that didn't occur because of something I did myself.

  • Watch "The King rants about 'having a blessed day'"

  • (Continued from my last post)... "If god created all life and all human then why would there even be other religions?" That makes sense. If there was a god he would punish non believers and well that didn't happen so I guess no god. Also how can you look away from the evolution theory? Come on christians how blind can you be to believe that a god, which there is no proof of, created everything.

  • it can only prove that these people are in fact brainwashed.

seems to me tat some are stronger cases than others, which explains all these deconversions.

  • I guess I was kinda raised a christian. I was baptised and everything but no one in my family believes in God and I don't even think my parents ever told me something from the bible. As I grew up no one around me was religious and of course I didn't turn out to be religious either. Also "God" has just never made sense to me at all and I remember something interesting one of my friends said once during some religion BS in school. (To be continued) :p

  • My story is pretty simple and really doesn't warrant a video. As I began to grow up as a pre-teen, I begin trying to come up with answers to how to live my life. I instantly turned to Christianity, my parents being Baptist. However, as I began to really examine the beliefs, I realized how hypocritical their beliefs were. I began to get into philosophy, and it opened up the world to me. So many philosophical theories made so much more sense. At that point I realized that religion forced ignorance

  • fuck,my comment was rejected again, what the fuck is it with yutube

  • OK, this is the second time I've seen this posted on one of my videos and I've seen you posting it on other channels.

This is spam and I don't allow spam...

If I see it again, I'm deleting it and blocking you.

  • I killed god and satan, so naturally their is no longer a reason to believe in them.

  • You can thank the Ghost Busters for getting rid of the holy ghost too. And Jesus died a natural death... twice.

  • some people really feel powerfeul talking to a monitor about a real cliche theme... its always the same "can you porve it?! " "can you?" "energy matter" "really?!" "men are evil God is not?" "then is he really there?!!!" "yes but not in this world!" ... etc...try to look it every angle, not only yours... "Nothing unreal exist, anything real can be threatened. Tha is the peace of God" Thnik about it

  • this comment is completely illegible.

  • I would but one I have no video cam. My story is also long and painful. :-(

  • I deconverted after noticing my church sent out homophobic messages. I realized just how weak and hateful individuals who follow a purposefully discriminating religion really are.

  • Same with me but I was mormon so that included the book of mormon's writings on black people... Also the religion itself made me feel so ashamed and hateful toward myself, it wasn't a good place to be. I think clearly now. I'm free.

    Thank science.

  • Agreed on that one!

  • i always say to christians 'read the bible' it seems to carry alot of its own short coming in it

  • Never done a video before on my own, but I may give it a try tomorrow, because this is important.

  • why would you want to risk hell???????

  • why would you want to risk the Underworld? Hades is going to be very angry with you.

  • I went with the choice that seemed to be the most likely choice to give me a positive result in the afterlife. I encourage you and other atheists to watch my 1 video staring yours truly. I explain some of the benefits of Christiantiy!!!!

  • no thank you.

So what you are saying though is that you only chose Christianity because it gave you the best reward...which says nothing of TRUTH.

There is one benefit that Christianity can't give me that I require....

    REALITY!

  • "So what you are saying though is that you only chose Christianity because it gave you the best reward.."

YES!!!!!!!!!!! what benefit is it to be atheist. if there is no god were both dead in the dirt, but if there is then you might wish u had been christian!!!!

There is one benefit that Christianity can't give me that I require....REALITY!

You dont know what happens for sure when you die any more than anyone else.....dont pretend to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Ill pray for you

  • This pathetic argument is what is known as "Pascal's Wager" and it's so logically flawed it's ridiculous...watch "For the last time...part 2" for more.

But more than that...you admit that if another religion came along with a between fairy tale about the afterlife that you would then convert to them...

So allow me to introduce you to Pastafarianism. We have a heaven with a beer volcano and a stripper factory!

I'll toss pennies in a well for you.

  • rather than tell me its logically flawed why not just show me how it is....instead of being sarcastic why not just destroy me with logic??????

"But more than that...you admit that if another religion came along with a between fairy tale about the afterlife that you would then convert to them..."

What does this mean, seriously I don't understand???

  • what part of "watch 'For the last time...part 2' for more." did you not understand?

  • first of all....... "For the last time...part 2" has been removed by the user!!!!!!!

second of all....I asked you to explain what this meant: "But more than that...you admit that if another religion came along with a between fairy tale about the afterlife that you would then convert to them..."

    As is shown below..........

  • 1st, no it hasn't...try searching for "number 2" instead of "part 2"...my mistake.

2nd...I'll worry about the rest of your requests when you satisfy mine. If you aren't willing to do that, then why should I care about yours?

  • My dad was an evangelical pastor and I believed in christianity until my 30's. It never worked; I was unhappy, prone to addictions, could not seem to conjure up love for an invisible being I could not see or feel. I was full of shame, guilt and fear. There is so much to tell - far more than there is space for on this comment. But I am now a happy freethinker. My problem - I cannot "come out" to my family because they will be terrified I'm going to hell. This is the legacy of religion.

  • i hear you; i agree this is an atrocity.

    best wishes dear friend.

  • Thanks and peace to you!!!

  • Ahh, see, you could all have skipped this stage and moved to Canada. Well, at least to Calgary. I've only ever met one truly devout religous person, but he was the priest of the local church. Where I'm at it's more common to find an Agnostic or Atheist, or someone who doesn't think about what religion they are, then it is to find a Christian or Islamist, and by a huge margin.

  • NEWS???JUST IN
