  • m surprized bush wasn't under in when the word terrorism came up after all he was the reason for 9/11 and these wars!

good vid though, we should not be pacifist! not when it comes to ourselves and our battle towards our own sins! there is no way you can call your elf christian and support a war that kills other people! so when it comes tho that type of war yes we should be pacifist!

  • Ha. I'm so glad I'm an atheist.

  • Jesus' love transcends all, except religion.

  • I hate war, fights, and violence. I'm probably the only pacifist in my school because everybody seems to love the fights.

  • Well I am a Muslim and I am a pacifist :D

I am against all wars unless they are necessary as in self defense. I support the War on Terror for example and I think every war the United States has been involved in is just and necessary and my country United Arab Emirates and our brothers in Arabian Gulf such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar etc are also strong allies of USA

  • @TheArabianPacifist If this i meant to be serious, you are a brainwashed idiot :)

  • @BratwurstSafari

Yes Im serious and why do u say that Im a "brainwashed idiot"???

  • @TheArabianPacifist then you're not a pacifist

  • @TheArabianPacifist sorry to say but american government brainwashed you! while you say american war is just the army is killing your brothers and sisters, how in the world can you say its just? seriously! the only possibly just war would be that of your countries defence against american tyranny! america needs to be stopped before they pick you off as a terrorist! or me or anyone for that matter! remember hitler? started of with the jews then its own people. no different with america's invasion

  • Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. Romans 13:1-2

We obey the government including in war.

  • @DrPhantomCow Sorry... You can't get rid of personal responsibility in that way. Everything you do - whether in war or outside - is your personal responsibility. Can't just shrive yourself by pointing your finger at the government (or God) and say: "They told me to!"

Besides, would you really blame all governments through history on poor God? Should Hitler, too, according to you, be obeyed unquestioningly as an emissary of God - if you happened to be born a German?

  • This is such a wonderful video expressing the heartfelt reality that pacifists deal with. I am told that I am Irrational for thinking this way but I will follow the teaching of Jesus and people can have whatever opinions of me they like.

  • Complete and utter pacifism is immoral. Even a person that does no defend themself is immoral. They are allowing hard to come to an innocent person through inaction.

  • Ooh, Better yet! I just found something in YOUR almighty book:

They Devoted the city to the Lord and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it- men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys." Joshua 6:21

"Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death. You mustpurge the evil from among you." Deu. 21:21

which is what YOUR God commanded to happen to a rebellious son. God didn't do that to the poor son, he told HIS followers to kill the son for not listening.

  • @JayRomairic And that would be the Old Testament, Christians look to the New Testament

  • I don't care what some book says, if a man comes into my house tries to steal my possessions, rape my wife and daughter and/or kill them, I will defend my house and my family. I will shoot him. If I see that happening over at my neighbor's house, I'll go over there and help him defend his home and family. That is it, I will not let some "God" tell me that I shouldn't "Resist an evil person." That is wrong! And if I were to follow such a thing, I'd be worse than the evil one, I might'a stopped it

  • Watched this in my r.p lesson yesterday and the 'on good friday' music makes me cringe!

  • Pacifism is a way of life, we need to love one another more, and truly fight the good fight against greed, war, selfishness and oppression!

  • The teaching of Jesus Christ is pacifism and you reap what you sow...

  • So if someone kills your older sister, sit back and let them kill your younger sister too? You do acknowledge that Paul became a different man when he became Paul right?

We can't leave everything up to God, we need to ask for His help then do our part.

  • God will not appear to Warmongers. You must be a pacifist. Was Jesus a Warmonger? A pacifist is the opposite of Warmonger. God works in mysterious ways. The evil will kill the evil.

  • (2)Scenario: There's no sense in calling for help, because by the time your help arrives, the man will be close enough to detonate and kill 100's. You only really have two options. Shoot the man in a more "still" part of the body (e.g.. Head or Chest), Or don't shoot at all. You are an American civilian. Pacifist, who because of his business career was sent on a special trip to deliver something to this camp. What do you do. Either way, it's him or the 265. (P.S. This actually happened.)

  • (1)Scenario: You're outside in Iraq. You're not in the military, but you were sent to deliver goods to a military camp holding 265 soldiers. You are an American civilian. You step outside and see a terrorist running at the camp at full sprint. Not in front of you, but far to the left. You had been given a hand gun when you arrived. You can't very well shoot the man in his legs because of his running. He's about 50 yards away from you. Running into the camp with a breast-plate-bomb.

  • I have a scenario here for you all. I'm not a pacifist, and am kind of on the fence about many issues regarding this. So I would love response to this question with all opinions you can give.

  • Very good and persuasive, though as you know there are multitudes of other scriptures you could have used.

How could a Christian be anything but a pacifist? It's staggering that so many don't see it.

  • shadyrill while i would a agree that the Christian should show restraint i do not believe the bible in any way teaches absolute pacifism and therefore Christians should not be identified as them because defending yourself and others should be a priority. being oppressed in the name of the gospel is one thing but defending your family from an intruder is another.

  • Vengence is God's HOWEVER He chooses to enact said Vengence thru the governemtns that He establishes. Romans 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a REVENGER to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

  • Everyone should be pacifists, not just Christians. I may not agree with Christianity itself, but I wholeheartedly agree with this particular message.

  • Matthew 26: 51-53

And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.

Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

  • Jesus' message here is plain to all but liars. He is telling the Disciples that if they fight now they're fighting AGAINST GOD! The swords that Jesus armed them with were not for then. They were for after He was crucified when they went back out into the world. Hence He contrasts it to the first time He sent them out & they lacked nothing

Jesus warned them what would happen after He was crucified. Mark 15:28 & the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, & he was numbered with the transgressors.

  • Luke 22: 49-51

When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?

And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.

And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.

  • Luke 22

Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

Question: Why was only two swords enough when there were twelve Apostles?

  • There were 11 Apostles at the time. If 2 of the 11 had swords this would be almost 20% of them. Most armies number fewer than 10% of their nation.

The word used here for Enough is Hikanos, it means AMPLE.

So anyone you preaches that Jesus was saying "enough of that" or something similar is a Liar.

Jesus wanted His sheep armed & decided that 2 swords amongst the 11 was sufficient, atleast for the time being.

  • Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.-Luke 22:36

    also look in Nehemiah 4:14

If you were at your parents house and unarmed Robers came into your parents house and started raping your partners, but you were cutting a cake and you have a knife in your hand.what would you do?

  • Great video with the perfect bible verses. Love one another! Amen.

  • What class?? Thanks for the post!

  • it was for a religion class

  • Well, I know but what kind of class? I was just wondering because I've taken some religious studies classes. I'm actually going to minor in religious studies when I go back to school to complete my degree.

  • oh, well, it was a sort of thing that everyone has to take at my school. we learned about the three main monotheistic religions (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam) a lot of the class itself was just talking about different ways to look at life and the world and stuff. it wasn't a very advanced course.

  • OIC..well thats fine as long as it inspires some progressive thinking...good luck and thanks again for the post.

  • TRUTH... god bless

  • As soon as that music came on, I thought, "wait isn't that Psalters? YES it is!!" The topic and music go hand in hand. As well it should!
