@Jayy023 The OIC could man the sirens if he wanted to by turning towards him. When responding to house fires though, usually OIC's are busy cross-checking the map book or confirming additional info sent from dispatch through the MDC.
wow, what an adreneline rush watching u drive with sirens and horns going! God Bless the firefighters and other police sevices who risk their lives for us everyday! Love the vids, so i subbed ya:) cheers from Canada. Drive safe and be well!
@boondoggle1000 Cheers right back at cha from the State of Georgia! Really glad you like the videos. I Thank you for your kind words. And Thanks for subscribing too, my friend.
Most departments have EMTs on fire apparatus in case a med unit has to come from a different location so they can render aid until the bone box arrives. Nice driving there man.
@RCronier Thanks for the props. Most of us are EMTs but we do have ALS paramedic units (F-350s) that accompany us on certain calls as well as dedicated ALS engines.
Thanks for watching. Hey, come out here and take your own videos... Hiring starts in December. We're looking for 45 applicant positions. Testing will begin sometime in January '12. Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services...I'm serious
just found your channel, its cool to see what goes on when your getting there. I have tossed around the ideas of trying out for a department, but California is jammed packed with people trying out. I hope you are able to upload some more videos some time.
@WatchDragon Over twelve years ago I took my department's fire entrance exam with over a couple thousand people. Most were dressed in various uniforms from other fire depts, EMS, police as well as military. Felt as if I was the only civilian in there. Not a chance in hell I assumed... My point is to never give up. You don't know what you're missing out on.
@konatown5 Yep. BLS SOP for our dept. Hope you realize we weren't going that fast. It'd be stupid to kill ourselves or anyone else while responding to such a call.
@konatown5 might sound simple but when i used to skateboard i saw my friends get tore up pretty bad from falls one myself where i had a compond fracture with my ankle...that fall cost me 8 months in a wheelchair and pt...
@ffco6 I use a tough old Canon S80. Its max video setting is at 1024 X 768 in HD and that's what I set it at. A lot of newer cameras record much better videos but the AVI. file format that this old Canon saves videos in is easier for me to edit through Windows. The mount is nothing high tech. I just duct-taped the camera directly to the thermal imager's charging base. It happens to be in a perfect spot.
Just a question shouldn't the passenger be manning the sirens? I've seen several times where the driver reached up to change it .

Pretty slow response time...

@2011stevom There's no reason to cause more accidents just for someone that's fallen...

Why is there a fire truck responding to some kid that fell over, why don't they just send the ambulance?
MrMonoxide123 4 months ago
@MrMonoxide123 Yeah, wish someone would tell that to our county commissioners.

@DieselFrdChikn I spoke too soon. I didn't hear the call update when dispatch said he'd broken it. Now it made more sense. Yeah.

Needs a new Q, or the brake on it needs to be loostened, it winds down too fast and winds up too low.
